Wow, what an epic backpacking adventure through Arequipa and Colca Canyon! This travel vlog captures the essence of Peru's natural beauty and rich heritage. The majestic views, charming city, and challenging hikes showcase the true spirit of exploration. Can't wait to experience it firsthand
My family is from Arequipa, but I'm Canadian born. I grew up there in Arequipa and I took 2 friends to Peru a couple of years ago, and of all the country Arequipa was also their favorite. Make sure you make time for Arequipa!
Love this, thanks! I'm planning my trip to Peru in April and you're the first instance I come across that did the 2 day Colca Canyon tour followed by travel to Cusco as soon as the tour ended. It's encouraging, as this is my current itinerary (any feedback welcome!) Day 0: Arrive in Lima, fly to Arequipa Day 1: Explore Arequipa and acclimate Day 2: Colca Canyon tour start (03:00) Day 3: Colca Canyon tour end (17:00); fly to Cusco Day 4: Cusco, Sacred Valley & acclimate Day 5: Inca trail start Day 8: Inca trail end Day 9: Fly to Huaraz Day 10: Huaraz, Lake Paron (scenic point with no real hike) Day 11: Huaraz, Lake 69 (hike) Day 12: Fly back to Lima; last minute souvenir shopping Day 13: Fly back to London (late afternoon)
We’re heading to Arequipa in a few weeks and are planning on hiking the Colca Canyon. Looks beautiful even with the very early morning start times! Thanks for sharing so we can better prepare for the trek!
Girlll if you end up going back to Arequipa like you mentioned, definitely do the hike up to volcan Chachani! You can book it with Weiky Adventures, their office is near the Plaza de Armas. It's a tough hike, but the sunrise and sunset views are the prettiest I've ever seen! Loved watching this vlog by the way, really makes me relive my time in Peru 2 months ago!
Wow se ve increíble 😊😊hacer esta caminatas es buenazo por el paisaje, el contacto con la naturaleza, el aire puro ,...Arequipa es la ciudad blanca del Perú asi la llaman es lo máximo 😊😊
Currently traveling in Argentina and will be in Bolivia/Peru probably in february/march so I am super excited to watch your videos and find inspirations for my trip :) Enjoy your trip☺️
That's one heck of a trek there CR! Looked like fun...i like your new make-up too! That chocolate class was unique. I've never seen one with fresh cocoa(?) beans. Awesome. FYI dark chocolate is better...just sayin.
I watched your vlog of the Salkantay Trek and thought to myself, “Oh it’s not as hard as it’s made out to be. She smashed the hardest day” But then I watched a few more of your vlogs and saw you ice climbing as part of your trek up a mountain in Bolivia (10/10 by the way) You aren’t the average backpacker so I won’t be basing any of my judgments on you 🙂
@@everydaysaschool-day7517 it’s totally different. Different meat, different taste, and different texture. Plus it’s an animal that more seen as a pet in America.
@@antonolimits so I’m not to tech savvy I only booked in Cusco I will arrive in Lima and then fly out to Cusco I want to experience machu pichu and the 7 lakes hike
Do you recall the name of the trekking outfitter you used for the Colca Canyon hike? Going in November & would love to give it a go! (Apologies if you already have this information listed somewhere-I couldn’t find it) TY!
Quite the hike Cristianne beautiful actually. I think I could have made it to the overnight rest area probably would have rented the mule just in case for the climb out
currently planning my trip to costa rica, equador and peru in Jan and feb. glad to see some videos from you from there. Cant hike at the moment so just going to train it to machu pichu but will have to go back to hike it. Just booked in at Selina looks great.
It looks as though you had a blast, what lovely scenery! If it’s not too much trouble on your end, could it be possible to have the cost breakdowns stay on screen just a tiny bit longer? By the time my eyes scan down to my currency it disappears and I always need to back up the video to see it again. Not a huge issue but it’d be much appreciated if you could! I’m super nosy so I always have to know the prices of things I’ll never experience LOL I’m looking forward to your next upload. 😊
I'm sure someone has said this in the comments, but I just got back from Costa Rica. We actually went to a cocoa and coffee farm in the La Fortuna area (Don Juan Tours La Fortuna). Arabica or robusta is the type of coffee plant that is grown. The Robusta is usually the 'gross' instant coffee and the Arabica is the higher quality coffee. P.S. I do not drink coffee so I have no idea if it is really gross...that's just what the guide said during the tour.
Great video as always!! Just wondered- which tracker are you using? I'm going to Colombia then Ecuador & Peru in the new year and would love a fitness tracker with GPS for the family back home... You seem to find really good ki so hoping you know where to point me for this!
Hey. I am within the Pandora box of your channel! Watched your Salkantay video. I am trying to make my mind. Do you think the 2 day Colca Canyon hike is redundant considering the 4 days hike? I know it is different but trying to make my mind if I should just book a 1 day Colca Canyon to save some time. (Not a full time traveler). Thanks.
Wow, it looks absolutely incredible!! For these hikes you've been doing, had you heard of them, and planned to do them before coming on this trip? Or did you find out about them while you were there and book them spontaneously? I am wanting to travel around Peru and will be doing the Inca Trail, but these other excursions you've done look amazing, and I would love to add them to my trip😊
I found out about most of them just from other travellers along route! Once you start travelling, you start to receive SO many recommendations 😅 I didn’t know about this hike before leaving 😊
@@BackpackingBananas amazing thank you!! 😃For these hikes have you been drinking tap water? I get paranoid about drinking tap water but I guess you can't carry around loads of giant bottles for long hikes

Peru is a country I really want to visit before I die.. Envy you ㅠㅠ
Thank you for sharing. I'll be in Arequipa in mid-april and this video is going to help me tremendously 👍😉
I loved Arequipa as well. If you go back try the supported bike ride down a canyon. Hope you are able to get back and live there for a couple weeks.

A friend told me that Arequipa is the most beautiful city in Peru and liked it best. So maybe you should actually come back and show us more of it.
It really is lovely! Not better than Cusco though IMO 😊
Craving chocolate so hard right now 🤤 Love this series!
Haha me too watching it back!

😂😂 it’s true, it can be hard to figure out how difficult something is because everyone’s capacity is different!
How did you find the night buses and what companies did you use?
I think I'd be emotionally damaged rocking up to dinner and being told its alpaca 😂🦙

No different to eating cow, pig or sheep...👍

It's too bad that you couldn't go to Puna Puku. Ancient ruins before the Inca Empire, very interesting.

It just depends on the location 😅 these parts of the world are very big hiking destinations. - I love it!
