The 2nd most famous excursion to take from Cusco is a trip to Rainbow Mountain. I did a group trip with Machu Picchu Reservations. It took 3 hours to get there from Cusco and we hiked to the top of Rainbow Mountain (aka Vinicunca), got a photo with some alpacas and then descended through the Red Valley which was stunning! Some of the best views I've seen in my life!

Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I'd only seen pictures of the mountain and not the surrounding area, and it's all so gorgeous! Omg also my friend sprained her ankle going down the stairs in Oia this summer and I had to go find help and absolutely mortified her when I came back to get her with 3 burly young Greek men to carry her the rest of the way 😂 She was such a trooper though and wobbled around on it for the rest of Greece!

This was the hardest hike I did in Peru. I’d run a marathon in the April and this was July so I was fit and man it was hard. At the top I couldn’t hear anything because of the altitude and sat down and ate Percy Pigs 😂

Awesome we almost went there. How was the altitude sickness?
I wasn’t sick at all (though I’ve had quite a lot of time to acclimatise) but the breathing was difficult!
What year/month was this? My Tour company took me to the other trail start.. Saying the one you went to with the Red Valley isn't accessible because of a local strike in november 2022..
I travelled in November 2022. Maybe the strike was just after I went?
