Hello Chris, it was a pleasure to meet you and share with you the trip through the Amazon River I hope you come to South America soon, we are waiting for you, thanks for the hammock my friend, happy Trip ☺️🖐️
Christii! What a great great vlog. As a Peruvian woman I am always so afraid of doing new things in my city and out of it too, because of the possible dangers we see in the news for women traveling alone. But seeing you, so brave, determined, smart and gracious at this boat and during your whole time in Peru, I'm truly inspired and motivaded by you. I will start traveling soon to the places in my list. I'm a fan and I'll continue watching your videos in Colombia too. My besh wishes, you are awesome!
I want to visit peru from the middle of march until the middle of april. But I don't know if I should because of the demonstrations that are going on right now. How bad is it ? Should I cancle my flight ?
Wow! This is so far off the beaten path and you can tell since there weren’t ANY other foreigners from outside South America. Props to you girl! Not sure I’d ever do this but appreciate the video and was fun to watch your journey!
You’re amazing! This would be so far out of my comfort zone it would freak me out, but you take everything in your stride! I’ve loved watching this series ❤
I'm peruvian and I just discovered your channel. I binged watched several videos but watching this made me want to comment that I'm so impressed by your bravery! You are also very entertaining to watch. Thank you for sharing your journeys with us.
Really, really enjoyed this one! It's so fun seeing RUclipsrs do things I've never even heard about, especially these days when it seems so many folks are recreating the same videos over and over. Kudos to you!
I have only just discovered your channel and I have been binge watching all of your videos over the last few days!! They are incredible and I can’t get enough 😍
Another awesome video. You are so brave, your sense of adventure amazes me, it really does, what a way to immerse yourself in the culture and local experience
I personally couldnt get all the way through it. She eliminates some of what I might think as the interesting parts and rambles about unimportant parts like the movies she watched.
Wow, you are ballers for having done this! This is as local as it gets and kudos to you for putting yourself out of your comfort zone when you could've easily chose another route to get to your destination.
Any one who travels alone to remote places have my utmost respect. It's easy navigation on Capital or major cities but to be alone travelling to such places is something. You are amazing.
Hi!!! I’m from the UK currently travelling for the first time in South East Asia and just came across this video. Thank you for taking the time to film and put together this awesome footage. So encouraging to see you exploring the world so fearlessly, hoping to meet people like you along my journey!! Hearing you speak Spanish was just incredible, you sound amazing. Best of luck with everything😊
Please make more 30+ mins vloggs. This is amazing. Loving how you kept the fan from the previous video. Love your channel content 10/10 personality 12/10 😁
I know he's less noticed but the kind man who carrried your bag has such a great vibe to him 😩 I don't know him, but I already adore him 🥰 God bless him!
You are awesome!! I’m a fellow Colombian but I have lived in Australia most of my life and I don’t think I could ever do this!! I love watching your videos, you have encouraged me to be more brave and travel on my own!
My mom and her family were raised in Peru and had many adventures in the jungle and river. We recently had a family reunion and now some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins want to take a 10-day journey on another route down the river and rent a whole boat for JUST them! To me, the idea in theory sounds great but I am NOT sure how well I could cope doing this! If I was young and in my twenties and as flexible as I used to be then maybe but good for you for being adventurous and brave enough to do this...thoroughly enjoyed this clip!! All the best and I look forward to your other videos! :)
Christianne I love your dimples when you smile 🙂, I am having a bad day but RUclips recommended your channel to me so I will follow for a while, ty for cheering me up, and hope you have lots of fun adventures 😊👋
Thanks for sharing! It took me on a trip down memory lane from when I got to do fieldwork in Colombian Amazonas over a decade ago. I really hoped you'd spend more time exploring the area, Amacayacu National Park and the villages around Puerto Nariño are absolutely incredible.
What a great vlog, thank you for sharing! I learned something new today and got to experience 30 minutes of a different culture, all from my living room!
Great to see you’ve made it back to Colombia! Your videos travelling just before c*vid inspired me to go and now I’m heading over in less than a week to live there for 5 months as part of my uni year abroad! Hope you have a great time on your travels!
I went to letiica last year. Ever since I went I’ve wanted to go back and take the slow boat up to Iquitos. This video helps me. I was told you can rent a private room on the slow boats also. My Spanish isn’t great so it will be a challenge for me. We went back to bogota then Cusco after leticia. Can’t wait to do the slow boat through. I’m going to subscribe and watch more of your videos. Thanks for sharing
What an adventure! I just love your openness and your incredible sense of adventure. You handle every situation with grace and a humble heart! I love this vlog (I am going to miss your Peru videos). Looking forward to the next.
Oh my god everything about that journey gave me anxiety. And that’s why I go on holiday to Portugal (to the same place) every year and you are out there having BIG adventures. Good luck on all of our future travels and long may you make us the vlogs ❤
So glad to see you in Colombia again , I’m Scottish from Inverness living in. Cali, have you thought about coming to Cali, Cali is a lot of fun with the salsa and the poeple are very warm and friendly, also quite cheap , there is lovely places to visit up in the mountains surrounding Cali,if you come to Cali please let me know, enjoy Colombia I’m sure you will I’ve been here 35 years and am not going anywhere, found my paradise on this earth. Take care.
Did the same 12 years ago, it's a nice experience. But we got into a storm in the middle of the night, couldn't even see your hands in front of you. And life vests for only half of the people. One of my best travel experience. Thanks for your nice Video👍
I’m glad things worked out for you at the Colombian Leticia airport because there is another English content creator (bald and bankrupt) that was just in the same area you are in this video and he had his passport stamped getting out of the boat in Santa Rosa Peru and after crossing the Amazon, he got the entry stamp for Colombia right at river bank. Good luck to the rest of your journey in Latin America. My apologies if people are not always helpful with you in Latin America
! What an experience..! 3 days over the Amazon River!😃. when you said..! Que Confuso.! That killed it. 😀 it describes everything but at the end you can sense how important it is your knowledge of Spanish. 👌
What an adventure, not really knowing what is going on usually turns out to be the best type of adventure, loved columbine and Costa recca when I visited there several years ago now.
Loved this! What an adventure! I need you as a travel buddy. You had some hiccups but handled them like a pro and everything worked out with little stress. Would totally be a different scenario for me. But I also don’t know Spanish. Bathroom situation was a little concerning to me (especially with IBS)… but I’m intrigued and would kinda like to do this!
Thanks to your your colombian trip bogota medellin a while back I decided to travel alone from Hertfordshire here I went to medelin pereira bogota cartagena and then barranquilla its made me a different person and would never of done it if I'd never followed you so thank you ❤️🙏
Can you do a video on your language learning journey so far? I know you’ve shared various parts in prior videos but it would be nice to see the full story in one video. Thank you.
I could never understand how so many backpackers through this region would travel between countries without bothering to get entry and exit stamps. I thought they were just goofy, inexperienced, or had poor Spanish. But I can see how confusing it can be if you're not insistent and assertive and you don't ask enough questions. I hope lots of backpackers watch your video and learn from it. Backpackers encounter the same issue all over the region when crossing by land or river between Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.
I watch your video and I am encouraged to go through Peru, Ecuador, Columbia. Then I check the government advisory site and chicken out. I am currently in Brazil and I think I am going to go straight to Panama on my way to California.
nice video did the same trip in 1994 iquitos to leticia / tabatinga brasil we had to be aware of Sendero Luminoso ( the shining path ) lots of military on the river at that time , yes get your stamps some people i knew got in trouble with $$$ fines trying to bypass things
Apparently they renewed the promenade in Rodadero Santa Marta. I know you went to that area like two years ago, but if you'd get the chance to visit again, I'd love to see an updated guide or general vlog about Santa Marta, Taganga, etc.
I’ve done this 13 years ago. One of my most interesting travels I ever had, but also the most horrible trip ever. 4 days on the river packed like sardines, crazy. I’ve nothing but respect for you! Enjoy your travel! 👍
No but like you're strong strong!!! haha I swear I showed this video to all my friends and family! I'm like so proud of you as if I'm your mom or something lol
What a beautiful airport in Leticia. You should have seen the old airport - there was no real security area and the bags were controlled by dogs only. ;) Buen viaje!
Thanks for this video showing the boat! We were thinking of doing something similar but I don't actually think I'd be able to cope, especially not eating meat.
Why everyone goes from Iquitos to Manaus and not vice-versa? I am planning to go from Manaus up to Peru. Do you know if there are boat going up that way?
You are so authentic and carefree, I really enjoy your vlogs and your style of travel and communicating with the camera and locals on your adventures. How do you avoid getting unwell from all of the different foods and lower hygiene standards in general? Do you take probiotics or tablets etc?
Thank you 🥰🥰 I don’t take any supplements! I think I’ve just developed a strong stomach and immune system at this point by eating and drinking so many questionable things 😅
Discovering your channel with this video and I live in Colombia actually I am from Belgium. Anyway if you'd like to get to know the paramo of Sumapaz, very welcome 😆
I took classes with a Spanish school for 6 months over lockdown (I was doing 10 hours a week over zoom!). Then I moved to Mexico for 6 months to practice. I found that I wasn’t actually progressing at all with Duolingo 🥲
@@BackpackingBananas oh wow! Balls. I think when I have more disposable income I’ll start back up with my Spanish classes. I paid for some over lockdown but only one a week which I don’t think was enough!
Don't forget to visit cano cristales in Columbia. Did the trip other way around... spend a month in Peruvian and Columbian amazon jungle. Challenging but best time ever.
Hello Chris, it was a pleasure to meet you and share with you the trip through the Amazon River I hope you come to South America soon, we are waiting for you, thanks for the hammock my friend, happy Trip ☺️🖐️
I've loved all the Peru videos but this is by far the most adventurous, I'm weirdly proud of you. It's such an interesting experience to go through
Thank you! It was a really cool experience for sure!

This has to be one of your best videos, really enjoyed it, thanks.

Wow! Colombia 🇨🇴🇨🇴 and Peru are my Top 2 personal favorite South American countries that I love to try both visit and live in someday.
Any one who travels alone to remote places have my utmost respect. It's easy navigation on Capital or major cities but to be alone travelling to such places is something. You are amazing.
Your attitude on this adventure is inspirational! What an experience that is unlike any travel vlogs I’ve seen! Great video thanks for sharing this ☺️

New suber here love the Adventure! Be safe out there!🍀🍻
Loving this series! Although it made me so hungry to see you miss the breakfast on the boat. 😅 Poor thing. Cuídate mucho!
Hahaha that was sad indeed 😅 I had my cookies though so it definitely could’ve been worse!

My main concern with a trip like this would absolutely be the food safety from meals on the boat. Parasites are no joke
Discovering your channel with this video and I live in Colombia actually I am from Belgium. Anyway if you'd like to get to know the paramo of Sumapaz, very welcome 😆
One of your best videos yet!
Thank you ❤️❤️
you inspire me so much 😭❤️
Amazing! How did you learn Spanish so well? I’m learning on duo lingo at the moment but you’re so fluent!

That was realy great, boat looked fun thanks
Hi, great video. You're one of my wife's favorite vloggers. Just curious what the leather looking tote pack is?
Tell your wife I say hello 🥰 My brown bag is by a company called Cabaia and it’s the ‘adventurer’ backpack in size medium ☺️ I absolutely love it!
