I just started and am having trouble with the unicorn fish. It's the bane of my existence! I used sushi, the brew, sashimi and fish stew, and it twitches out of my zone. I'm not even pulling it in urgh. Everyone suggest major safe zone but I'm going to try major health booster like you suggested and see what happens.
I hate fishing too. IMO, I think fishing ruins the game. I cannot get past level 1. I don't know if I should hold the left or right mouse button when casting out the float or reeling the fish in.
Something I did was sit in one spot a few tosses, then move around (not SUPER far, but like 10 steps). I'm not sure if it helps, that crap too me 6 days. LMAO. Makes fishing for it feel less "random"? I will say, once I started to do that, I did end up hooking it so. O-O

Very helpful video. Fishing is my least favourite skill to develop cause I find the mechanic hard to deal with! But I didn't know about the different hooks, so I'll try it. Thanks!
@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 Can you do this for bug hunting too? I'm collecting star quality bugs to create an animal crossing like museum in my house. Tips for grinding out the stars?
@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 YES PLEASE!!!!! Following that, if you've got all bugs and fish starred, you should probably do a 'showcase' and say all their locations and what you recommend to have when catching them! The ULTIMATE bug and fish guide.
Great info, thank you! I was looking for info about the hooks and exactly what they do and you nailed it. The only thing missing seems to be the Fisherman's Brew. It says it gives a "Minor fishing safe zone size boost," so it's a lesser version of that hook you mentioned. I wonder if they stack, actually, for an even larger safe zone?

Also take it slow, fish won't snap the line unless it's destroyed. You can take your time. 🙂

Yes there's a multiplier so I guess it stacks.
