Bug hunting tips: Instead of spamming the smokebombs just hit them once, stay targeted on them and wait and see if they give up, if not wait until they make like a little bloop sound to escape and then quickly hit them again, rinse and repeat until you get em. Spamming them over and over while they are already stunned doesn't really do anything other than waste your bombs. I disagree with 2 things. 1st:- Fishing in caves. Yes, Bahari cave has 2 fishing spots which will give 2 starred fish. But most of the time, you will only get a common fish which is valued at 95gold. But the pond in your plot will give you common fish worth 100 gold. Of course, the difference of 5 gold is not that much and you get high-value uncommon/rare fish in caves but that's once in a blue moon. And if you count the time wasted between running around from Killima to Bahari and returning and the number of times you fish, the pond in your plot is cost and time efficient. Putting on a podcast or binge-watching your favorite show while doing chill fishing in your plot without moving is best. And sometimes you will also catch a Giant Goldfish worth 1220 gold. 2nd:- Planting tomatoes. Bok choy is the answer to making money while gardening. It has a 3-day cycle. It sells for more than tomatoes, and its seeds & preserves sell for more than tomatoes. Let's ignore fertilizer, planting patterns & crafters and plant a single crop in all 81 tiles & sell the crops. With level 38 gardening skill (you have a 100% chance to get starred crop from normal seeds), you will get a profit of 1923/day with tomatoes while Bok Choy gives 2220/day.
So it sounds like farming as “passive income” and mining or hunting or fishing while crops grow is a good way to go, especially for beginners. I’ve only been playing about 7-10 days, and the most advanced tool I have is standard, I think. I just got a stove yesterday and have no idea how to use the prep center.
Not according to the Wiki, they don't. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised to find them there either seeing as the devs are usually changing little things like this here and there and the wiki doesn't get fully updated. I personally have not come across any garnet in Kilima but if y'all have, that's great! Thanks for the comment and for watching!
As a person who works a full time job, I just come on once a week to harvest from my garden, collect from the seed collectors, preserve jars, and worm/glow worm farms. Have the farm set up so I don't have to worry about weeds or watering.
Thanks for the great info and breakdowns! Even though I've not been playing, it's great to know that most of the things I enjoy doing (hunting/fishing/bug catching) are still profitable should I start playing again! Much appreciated!
Oh thank you for the celebration cake update. I played in alpha/beta and when EA first came out. Sadly, only did a couple of cake parties in their hayday. Returned recently and I'm getting caught Up. So I do have a bunch of jam saved up still. Right to the bin!
Im so glad I found you. That was very educational and I was talking to my wife about making gold here and whats the best route. I always feel i need to do everything from hunting, fishing, mining, bug catching, to chopping. I just cook to keep my focus up but not really think of using that for selling. 😂 Thank you so much for this. I just subbed.
They added in amber to try and make woodcutting more profitable. Would love to see a video breakdown of that (selling everything including bugs/seeds) if only for the palia team to be able to compare it easily to breakdowns like these.
When did they change apple seeds from being purchasable earlier in game? That seems so weird for newbies to have to work for it forever with medals...Great video!
I really need a whole video walkthrough of cake parties..like I keep hearing about it but I have no idea where to begin? Do i need a discord account? If so, what do I do from there once I make an account? When you join, how do you know what ingredient(s) you need to join the group with and how many? What if you don't the ingredient(s) or the right amount? You can't join the party? I have so many questions... I am so broke in the game I'm tired of it, but I need to see a cake party video from beginning to end, from how to find and join the party to the end when you earn the money.
This is a great video! Very imformative and well researched! I'm wondering if you sold all the flint/stone/copper/iron if the mining per hour would change much? I definitely hope they buff it up so its closer to the other skills!
Aw, thank you so much! I did not sell anything by starstones for mining. So many crafting and decor items require all that other loot so I never sell that but you can totally sell it for some extra gold if you need it. :)
Thank you! This is very helpful! I'm quite new to the game and my priority has been working on my plot which is a lot of fun creating my own buildings and trying to put the layout I have in mind for the house itself into reality, though credits have been a rather slow process - and I just want to get my house layout done so I can start decorating it with all the decos I've been crafting and hoarding. I'll definitely be using some of your awesome tips to help make more bank!
Super informative video. Thank you for making it. I was pretty distracted during the farming section by how amazing your farm area is. How do you make those wrap around porches?

IDEA fishing bonus....The pond in the underground always has fishers.I couldn't get the thought of our lines getting tangled but now I know to overcome this and stick it out.
In a 4 man group our hunting numbers are way up depending on certain factors. We can each make around 40k in an hour especially if we get a Mujin boost. There is an area in Bahari where the legendary Mujins seem to gather at and since they hop into trees it often discourages people and they build up. We've killed around 10 legendary Mujin in 15 minutes + all of the Mujins that gather. They are unpopular to kill, but I find them very profitable since the striped ones take 2 shots, black ones take 1, and the whites are plentiful because of their annoying mechanic. This is only achievable with a group of 4 and with a mix of dispel/slowdown, and we only do it a few times a day to let them build up. Very sneaky good farm though especially if you can get some white manes.
did you only sell the starstones from mining? cause if so i wonder if they balanced it with the idea in mind of selling everything instead of just the starstones
Considering the rest of the stuff is highly used for crafting/decorating items, I don't think it'll make too much of a difference but I will do some runs and see what numbers I come up with. :)
Is there really a good reason to upgrade your bow higher than a standard bow (which has no durability) except the shoot range? I mean, the vision of not going to the repair station every 30 mins sounds very good, especially when the damage itself is coming from the type of arrows we use
It's just the shooting range which makes a difference when you are trying to reach something further away. I do snipe a lot so it's beneficial for me but you do you and do what works best for you. :)
i used to just go hunting and sell it all but now i got a good garden for passive income and i hunt and bug catching. what ever i feel like doing really haha
first of all, it was nice seeing you in game while mining lol. i will go to ther plots for cake parties and i will garden potatoes and tomoatoes that's how i make my gold. but i heard that if you sell bok choy seeds, you will get more. i'm testing that out to see if it's worth my time to make more gold in game.
Definitely nice seeing you while mining! lol :) You can test out the Bok choy method with the garden planner website to see if it's more beneficial. :)
I stopped playing Palia around when they nerfed cake parties, they were OP but they were also SO fun. I'm so glad to see cake parties are still going despite the nerf, i might come back!
Yea, I remember the nerf but they are definitely still going strong and making players tons of $$$ still. You may still have fun with it. ;-) Thanks for watching!!
I like to smelt iron ore and sell the iron bars since iron bars sell for 63 gold, it is a top way to make money and if your mining level is high you can do all this with no focus to get money without spending it on food.
I prefer to use them for crafting but that's me. I love to hunt so I'm always needing more arrows. And I honestly never even look at my focus. I find it to be pretty useless aside for leveling a little bit faster.
Hunting it is then. I've been gardening but it takes a long time to get to the harvest. Cooking is way too complicated. Do these numbers take into account the cost of the ingredients?
Different NPC's like different starstones depending on their star sign. You're allowed to give them 1 per week that will be the equivalent as a "loved gift" in their weekly wants. I keep a few on hand just to gift from time to time but most times I just sell them. I do keep the star quality ones for decorating though. :)
@jademist Hi using the cakes for glow worms isn't cost effective and u will make a loss but you can make a profit selling normal worms and fert with a profit, for a star apple cake sell price 280g but if u put into normal worms the make 302g per 1 cake making you a 660g profit on a stack of 30 cakes when all worms and fert are sold, not a massive profit but a nice little extra x
Thank you for the video. I’ve started gardening, but if I’m only making pickled tomatoes, what am I planting all the potatoes for? 😅 Do I just keep making them into 100s of seeds?
The potatoes are so that everything can remain watered. It's essentially a self watering system. You can totally plant only tomatoes but you'll have to manually water them every in game day. You can put the potatoes in a seed maker and sell the seeds. :)
You could/can actually have a chance to get the ancient fish in the water temple before completing the wave bundles. Or well idk if they changed it but I did get it on my line while trying to get one of the fishes for one of the bundles but wasn't prepared for it and it snapped my line
I’m assuming all these people that hunted were playing the game on PC and NOT the Switch? Because hunting on the Switch is about half as fast and convenient as on PC. You just can’t aim and shoot very fast on Switch.
The safest thing to do is keep at least 1 of every bug and fish and a stack of common resources. For hunting, I sell everything I get from a full round but I do keep a stack of everything just in case I'll need it later. So about 30-40 of the meat, hide, fur, antlers, ect. I keep stone and flint and sell all gems. I keep some starred ones for decorating though. Hoarding definitely helps. LOL
All crops are better off either pickled in preserve jars or turned into seeds. But it all depends on the crop itself to determine whether you pickle them or seed them. Tomatoes are better valued as pickled tomatoes whereas the better value for potatoes would be with the seeds. Hence why I mention in the video I have 6 seed collectors and 6 preserve jars. Just gotta do the math for all the other crops to see whether seeding or preserving is better. At the end of the day, always refine crops for a better value. :) Thanks for watching!!
Another great fish spot is in underground zeki market. Becouse there is a lot of players fishing there the time for the fish to take the bait is very fast. Close to 5-10 sec only. And have star area.
I am new to palia, less than a week playing. It seems with the cost/time for the resources for each of the categories then the hunting is the best way, honest feedback please?
While I wouldn't say it's the absolute best way, I will say it's the most fun way and my preferred choice. It keeps me running around doing things and just having fun while pulling in some cash. Honestly each skill gives you ways to make money and having a balance between them all is the best way. :)
Please check again on the grilled fish. Starred Alligator Gar, for instance, sell for 95 gold each. Two of them would be 190. Grilled, those two fish sell for 285 gold.
Starred Alligator Gar goes for 142 actually. Regular quality Alligator gar goes for 95. I just fished them out right now and can confirm that. 2 star quality alligator gar at 142 each would give you 284 gold and the grilled star quality gar gives you 285. 1 gold extra. Not worth it at all for 1 extra gold. I locked up my regulars in my safe storage and used the starred ones only. When you click on the fish to select the fish you want on the campfire and hover over the fish, it'll say it's the 95 gold regular quality but in fact, it's taking the star quality so long as you have the "use quality ingredients" checked when grilling.
I also select my fish when cooking and never use my starred fish until the end. If I grill 10 regular fish, I usually have 2-3 starred cooked fish that are more valuable than the two regular fish combined.
It will vary from player to player depending on spawn rate, how fast you are in finding all the rocks, etc.. as I mention in the video so that is expected. These are all estimates based on my personal rounds so everybody should expect a certain fluctuation in their figures. Thanks for watching!!
Honestly thank you. I just started to get addicted to this game, also affecting my work but who cares abo9ut that right. I was wondering how to make money fast coz I felt like I was far enough in the game, pass newbie but not so pro yet, that i only made about 500 to 1k gold per DAY. So It's nice to know I can make a bang of money in hunting and mining. I do farming a lot but haven't seen what works for me yet, or what works to give me enough money. Just random planting so, thank you again! This is perhaps the best non complicated video I've watched on makin money so far. I'd love to join a cookin party, thats crazy money your friend Lisa did. 300k plus is insane.
I didn't factor in those prices considering for cooking parties, not everybody needs all the ingredients. You can be in charge of the oven to bake cakes without ever needing to use a single resource and have 100% profit where as one person who just uses sugar would only have sugar costs, etc.. Would be a lot of extra figures calculating each and every one of those scenarios. ;-) You can also get a lot of the ingredients from the prize wheels and other rewards so it'll be different for everybody. Thanks for watching!!
Such a lot of work that went into making this video❤ I do feel like it's only halfway done, since the materials you use also cost you money and that wasn't considered in this...
All materials can be crafted or foraged except for a few cooking ingredients. So technically you can do mostly everything without spending money. Bug bombs, arrows, worms, etc. It was done without it to make it less confusing. Everybody can decide how they get their materials and factor that in accordingly.
@@JadeMistGaming True. Guess it's only the costs of the recipes then, but I can imagine that would've made it confusing when multiple types of arrows or bombs were used.
@mellinebuijs5573 It would be the same outcome whether I took the time to craft for the video or quickly buy them to speed up recording and data gathering. 😉
The thing I hate with this game even though I love the game is you can't delete a character and start a new character on one account especially when it is from Steam I tried going through the website it keeps crashing
I ended up uninstalling this game a couple of weeks ago because of the constant loading screens. Also, it wouldn't let me change between the weapons in the inventory.
Ever since they changed the spawn rate and rotation, I tend to find them a lot easier now and more often unlike before when everybody had the routes all mapped out and would go run them every 2 seconds.
do you know what the best seed is to make for money? My brain can't figure it out when some take more than one seed to make lol. what are you doin with 6 seed makers?
I wish I could say I got a ton of plushies. I think it was like 3. The drop rates are sooooo low! Lol 100% looking forward to the update!! Thanks for watching! 🥰💜
Just experienced my first bad experience on palia😭 dropped a honey lure with everyone that was there for the grove and I didn’t get a single ty, we were 5 and I thanked them💀
Yeah not sure about that gardening income thing. Because you spend 1-5 mins tops every hour (I usually do 2 back to back, around the :15 mark), including jam. It also requires pretty much nothing, just very slightly repairing your 2 tools after your initial setup (which don't even need upgrading). I guess you can use fertilizer which can boost sales, which you can make from something (eg mushrooms) you need to gather but that's not really required. Profit needs to take into account what you spend and the time you need to gather the materials for that, so... The people who need gold the most are newer players, not those who already have everything and then some. Hunting, bugs and mining also don't take into account your luck with your server. You can come and find nothing. Gardening requires none of that. Did I also mention you can watch a video while doing gardening, while you need to focus your full attention for hunting and bugs and fishing and (especially) cooking? Nevermind the carpal tunnel you get from all that clicking. Considering I'm going towards 3 million gold in, what, less than 2 months of starting to play Palia (by doing gardening almost exclusively for gold) and how gardening has not been nerfed, I would say nothing really compares to gardening when it comes to profit, especially for a new player. You also save a lot of time doing other things - which can also bring in a profit. Bottom line being - gardening should pretty much be the staple no matter what other profession you want to use for profit alongside gardening. If you have the time to spare to do fishing you can spare 1 min to plant some plants and THEN go fishing.
The star quality will barely give you a profit. Just a couple extra gold if anything. Not worth the time sitting there jumping from grill to grill with all that bulk fish. The point is to make quick easy money.
I'd be very interested to see a PC vs Switch comparison for moneymaking. Hunting is my least favorite skill as I find it very hard to get more than one shot on a creature, which limits what animals I can hunt consistently. 🤬 Bug catching was agony until I hit lvl 10. 😭 It has a similar problem to hunting, as you have to retarget the bug if it moves. Spamming bombs keeps me from losing the bugs that take more than one hit, but it means I go through bombs a lot faster. In contrast, I've heard some folks say that fishing is easier on switch! Makes me wonder if some skills are going to perform better based on platform. 🤔
Bug hunting tips: Instead of spamming the smokebombs just hit them once, stay targeted on them and wait and see if they give up, if not wait until they make like a little bloop sound to escape and then quickly hit them again, rinse and repeat until you get em.
Thank you so much. Glad I could help. :) Happy Gaming!
They added in amber to try and make woodcutting more profitable. Would love to see a video breakdown of that (selling everything including bugs/seeds) if only for the palia team to be able to compare it easily to breakdowns like these.
In all the time I've been cutting trees, I've only gotten 2 amber and I've cut thousands of trees already. Drop rate really sucks for that.
omg thank you so much for this! I've been grinding mining non stop thinking it was the best and getting nowhere!
When did they change apple seeds from being purchasable earlier in game? That seems so weird for newbies to have to work for it forever with medals...Great video!
Thanks for watching!!
I've just started playing and this has really helped me thankyou muchly!
Glad I could help!
Thank you for this! I am going to try fine arrows in bahari bay, that to me looks the most doable at my current skill and resourse level!
Amazing information and work. Thank you so much!
I'll definitely work on a cooking party guide. 😉
thanks for doing such thorough research! This is super helpful!
dang, i want to do an hour long apple cake baking session with people some time! that sounds fun
Thank you so much! Glad it could be helpful!
Omo.. thank you soooo much for such detailed research!
Thank you for this!! Just started playing recently & have been looking for some updated info. Love your videos!
So glad I could help!! I hope you're enjoying Palia. Thanks for watching!
Super informative video. Thank you for making it. I was pretty distracted during the farming section by how amazing your farm area is. How do you make those wrap around porches?
Thank you so much. I put my garden inside the Kilima Courtyard building that you can buy from City Hall. :)
So it sounds like farming as “passive income” and mining or hunting or fishing while crops grow is a good way to go. I’ve only been playing about 7-10 days, and the most advanced tool I have is standard, I think. I just got a stove yesterday and have no idea how to use the prep center.
How many of each veggie/fruit do yall strive to keep in stock at all time?
I like to have about a stack of about 30-50 of each crop that I regularly use for cooking. :)
Great video! I just found you and subscribed. Thank you all for doing such great research, i appreciate it.
Thank you so much!!
IDEA fishing bonus....The pond in the underground always has fishers.I couldn't get the thought of our lines getting tangled but now I know to overcome this and stick it out.
Yup, great tip. This video came out before that update which is why it wasn't included there. ;-) Thanks for watching!!
So thorough and helpful!! I just went fishing in the mines for a few minutes and made a bunch of money!
Thank you TJ!
I'm pretty new at Palia, but I love the fishing and hunting parts. I'm not good at hunting, but it's fun.
did you only sell the starstones from mining? cause if so i wonder if they balanced it with the idea in mind of selling everything instead of just the starstones
Considering the rest of the stuff is highly used for crafting/decorating items, I don't think it'll make too much of a difference but I will do some runs and see what numbers I come up with. :)
Great video! So much helpful info! And thanks for the shoutout! 😊
You're the true rockstar spending 8 hours cooking!! LOL Thanks for your help, Lisa!!
@@JadeMistGaming lol never again! The 8hr cooking I mean 🤣 You’re welcome!
I play on switch and currently stuck/froze. What can I do, restarting doesn't help.
I froze early today live on stream but I play on PC. I had to do a force shutdown killing the program. Try turning your switch on and off maybe?
Thabks for this! New to Palia and have been looking up ways yo make money
Welcome to the world of Palia!! Hope you're having fun. 😁 Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the money making tips!
I really would like to know what crops to keep for cooking and gifts and what to sell. Im new so im afraid to clean my stuff out incase i need it D:
When in doubt, keep a stack of 30-50 and sell the rest. 😉 There are several websites that also let you keep track of villager daily and weekly wants.
Respect to yall for going this far just to provide insight and info MOrRE POWERRR TO YOU GUYSSSS🤩
i used to just go hunting and sell it all but now i got a good garden for passive income and i hunt and bug catching. what ever i feel like doing really haha
first of all, it was nice seeing you in game while mining lol. i will go to ther plots for cake parties and i will garden potatoes and tomoatoes that's how i make my gold. but i heard that if you sell bok choy seeds, you will get more. i'm testing that out to see if it's worth my time to make more gold in game.
It is not taking into account costs of ingredients.
Used to buy the mushroom things to craft the yellow worms afk but they increased the mushroom prices lol
Night Sky items are so difficult rn, so this def helps in living up bug catching and knowing where the rainbow butterfly is at.
Buzzy jars are great for tracking those rare bugs like the rainbow butterfly. :) You'll get it in no time with that.
are starstone important for relationships? i keep saving them im too scared to sell them
Different NPC's like different starstones depending on their star sign.
Thank you so much for this jade. I was lost on how to many the most money fast as i am new in palia. This helps so much. ❤
No, thank YOU for helping out with the grind!! :) You're the best!
Well done on this video it's very informative and all the hard work you put into it. Chapters are in the description. 😄
I've seen some players hunting pretty quickly using switch or a controller on PC. It all depends on the person but yes, I am playing on PC.
@@JadeMistGaming Trust me, hunting on Switch really sucks.
Im a new player for the switch, so learning about what makes the good money, is very good help for me lol
My biggest doubt is: what I can and what I cannot sell and should save for later?
The safest thing to do is keep at least 1 of every bug and fish and a stack of common resources. For hunting, I sell everything I get from a full round but I do keep a stack of everything just in case I'll need it later. So about 30-40 of the meat, hide, fur, antlers, ect. I keep stone and flint and sell all gems. I keep some starred ones for decorating though. Hoarding definitely helps. LOL
do you play on pc? I find hunting is really clunky on console :( I miss often and the mobs actually lag when chasing them.
any tips from console players? other than play on pc haha
Sorry to hear you have those problems on console. :( I play on PC.
Also now the Underground has a fishing spot with cave fish that does get bubble spots
for gardening, make ur star quality crops into seeds so u get star seeds . also a lot of the seed packets are worth more than the plants
Thanks for watching!!
Another great fish spot is in underground zeki market.
Becouse there is a lot of players fishing there the time for the fish to take the bait is very fast. Close to 5-10 sec only. And have star area.
That is correct. This video was posted before that update dropped but thanks for the tip. 😉
This was so informative!! Crazy how much they nerfed mining!
Thank you for ALL your help!! You're amazing!!
@@JadeMistGaming it was a pleasure! Loved our palia shenanigans lol 🥹🫶🏼
did you smelt the ores and sell them too?
No, I use the ores for my crafting. I make tons of arrows so I never sell my ores.
i see, gold will double in value if you smelt them
Still need them for crafting so I personally prefer other faster methods for the money. 😁
Can you make a video about cooking parties? I'm always too scared to join them. How do I know what ingredients to bring or what station to go to?
I'm more than happy to work on a good cooking party video. 🥰
I make a bit more with mining than what you found. I also smelt the iron and copper into bars and sell those.
Thank you so much for watching. I'm glad it was helpful. Happy gaming!
Awesome video! I just wish for cooking that the prices for buying ingredients like butter, milk, etc were included to see the actual profit
I would love the video on cooking parties!
This was soooo informative!!!!!
The thing I hate with this game even though I love the game is you can't delete a character and start a new character on one account especially when it is from Steam I tried going through the website it keeps crashing
looks like hunting and fishing it is! ofc not forgetting farming crops and cooking
Thank you for all the work you have been doing ❤ would you make another video about fertilizer? They never seem to work for me😢
Oh no, what about them seems to not work? You have to plant multiple of them so they stay the whole cycle of the crop, not just once.
@@JadeMistGaming I tried everything. Max 2 crops per cycle 😑
I ended up uninstalling this game a couple of weeks ago because of the constant loading screens. Also, it wouldn't let me change between the weapons in the inventory.
Sorry to hear that. Palia isn't for everybody. Best of luck finding a better game solution. Thanks for watching!
The way I miss the old Cake Parties. I used to make on average 200,000 gold per party of 50 rounds.
The old cake parties were insane before they were nerfed!
I wish they would make palium just a little more accessible especially when I need it for quests 😂
I use the seed makers to make potato seeds and sell them.
Thank you for your service o7
Lol Thank you! o7
You can get star quality cave fish in kilima at the black market!
Yes, that update came out after this video was released. ;-) But thanks for the tip!
@@JadeMistGaming ooh i didnt know it was a more recent update (took a break from the game and am catching up now) sorry!
We need a fridge storage for foods!
Massive research!! How many plushies did you get during these trials?! I can’t wait for the update in a few hours 😍😍
I wish I could say I got a ton of plushies. I think it was like 3. The drop rates are sooooo low! Lol 100% looking forward to the update!! Thanks for watching! 🥰💜
Just experienced my first bad experience on palia😭 dropped a honey lure with everyone that was there for the grove and I didn’t get a single ty, we were 5 and I thanked them💀
Don't worry about them. At the end of the day, it's really not that big of a deal. I wouldn't stress it or considering it a bad experience.
The nerfed gems really hurts my heart
Absolutely!!
Thanks for the tips.
Hi Jade Love your channel your amazing and you Rock your the best I am your biggest fan your videos always make my day ❤
Thank you so much! Have an amazing day! ❤
@@JadeMistGaming Yes thanks
Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!
id say it is worth cooking your fish cuz theres a chance you can get star quality grilled fish just from cooking it which would make a profit
The star quality will barely give you a profit. Just a couple extra gold if anything. Not worth the time sitting there jumping from grill to grill with all that bulk fish. The point is to make quick easy money.
A mina mandou uma tese de doutorado numa sexta qualquer e foi dormir. Q q isso meu, conteúdo completo. Mt bom
I'd be very interested to see a PC vs Switch comparison for moneymaking. Hunting is my least favorite skill as I find it very hard to get more than one shot on a creature, which limits what animals I can hunt consistently. 🤬
Bug catching was agony until I hit lvl 10.
