I'll have to buy this. Used to go on these trains back when i was a kid to visit my gran. I'm mad for 90s nostalgia.

Yes it is the same Chris Denning. It is one of those things that we could not have foreseen. Chris was on of two DJs who started Radio One, the other being Tony Blackburn. Chris was local to us in Berkshire and I have to say was one of the best and most fastidious narrators that we have ever had. Of course we would not use him again and regret the way things have turned out. With our small market, it would be great to re-record the couple of DEVs he narrated but sadly it would simply not be viable.

Anton Rogers and Fred Dineage imo are the best sounding. I love the passion in Freds voice on the ECML episode

Most likely as they carried proper dining cars and certainly served proper cooked on board dinner service. Tried it myself. Excellent (in BR days).

Crappy old Mk2 carriages whilst most other InterCity routes were on Mk3s. ECML was probably on Mk4s by then.

Yep, dead mans switch. They use it on the class 90's too.

No... The rings advise the driver that the upcoming signal is green. Any other aspect sounds the AWS horn.
