I have one of these thats almost 10 years old and its still going. It just now got the original fuel lines replaced and they were still good, just got a kit of parts that had new lines in it. Its only on its second carb too in that abount of time. This thing has been dead nuts reliable. It still has 150 psi in the cylinder too. It's been used very heavily.
It was pure frustration seeing that tape on the throttle. 😭

For others: Check the exhaust spark arrestor for obstructions. Carbon build up or in my case, a mud wasp nest. It was an easy fix for a low hour trimmer from a free pile.

Check spark resister
so what finally fixed it was the cleaning and gapping of Magneto, another point you could have easily stripped the Magneto bolts using a power tool, that's what I did and not using a power tool they are soft aluminum bolts, I had to drill it out and used a stainless steel self-tapping screw, did not have any taps and dies

I have this same 2 weed eaters the will start with out the lock thig
I think it was the choke it was on all the time but the video only show it been off once after editing
Just pull the cord and check compression first. If not good, walk away. Pull the muffler and look for bore scorring. You’ve waisted a lot of time disassembling the trimmer, without even doing the simple things first.

I’m not through the whole video and I’m wondering if you are going to check the spark Arrester
I don’t believe I checked it
This particular trimmer does not have a spark arrestor. It has a catalytic converter, hence that “KAT” name on the side of the muffler. In my experience the cat mufflers are a pain to unclog once they become clogged, since you cannot access the inside of the muffler easily. What I do is just replace them with a regular muffler with a spark arrestor so that when it does become clogged you can just remove it with a socket. Those mufflers with the cat also tend to run way hotter than the regular mufflers which causes the top of the machine to get uncomfortably hot, and even discolor the plastic which is what happened to my trimmer.
It cant idle with full choke, set choke to half to idle it😂
Youre not starting it correct! When you hear it starting you should set choke to running possision/lever down,
