Couldn't agree more about line width. It has driven me nuts for a long time. I'll add that images (especially ones in portrait orientation are MASSIVE in large mode and tiny in small mode). I think it would make sense to add a line width slider.
Need Link Back/Return button I appreciate the new "Add Link" feature in the Notes App on iOS 17. I see iOS 18 added a Recent Notes option that lets you get back to the closed originating note in the Notes List. However, it would be incredibly useful to have a "Link Back/Return" button that takes you back to the opened originating note, at the spot where they did the linked from. This would enhance the user experience by making navigation between linked notes more seamless, similar to how web browsers and email apps handle links.

Thanks Peter, have watched this again. Is there a way to change the headings. sub headings, body styles so they are permanent. I want to use a different font, size and Demi-bold not bold. If there is not, Apple should give us this flexibility. I have decided to move from Agenda and bear at this time. Both apps that I love, but Notes can do the job now. Not sure why I have a weird user handle.

Three years now, I’ve been pulling in different fonts that are different sizes and colors. Just create a note and name it fonts. You’ll need to copy and then paste a word in the font you like in the new note. Type immediately after the word with no space. It all comes out in the font and size and color that you want. Erase the one word at the beginning of the sentence. Wa-Bam! Problem solved.
Peter, I have iOS and iPadOS beta 3. I can't figure out how to keep sentences/ questions in the same paragraph when doing live transcription. Every time I add punctuation like a period or question mark, a hard return is created. In screencaps etc of Notes 18, it seems like paragraphs with multiple sentences can be created versus creating a hard return/ new line each time. Any idea how to do this? Also, with recordings with multiple persons, does Notes recognize different voices in order to identify persons speaking in transcriptions? Thanks so much.

Please ask every Apply employee you encounter to add a "Financial" mode to the new calculator app in addition to the Basic, Scientific, and Math Notes app. A "Financial" mode would handle PV, FV, PMT, N, & I.
One feature, yet to be in Apple Notes, is the highlight a search result. Often search is very quick, but doesn’t show where in the note or attachment the result actually is. Can be frustrating if result is in a pdf attachment that a few pages long.
Hi Peter, really nice video, definitely the Apple Notes App is getting better and smarter. However, just how you mention at the of your video, Apple need to work on the typography on the app on all the devices; I do really love the Notes app, it pack a lot of useful functions but the main thing that keep me away is how the text is showed on bigger devices, I hate how wide the text looks on the iPad and Mac, it makes me feel extremely messy and that's the main reason of why I'm still sticking to Bear as my main notes apps. I'm really waiting for a better text distribution on Notes App, I hope they add something like that soon.
I have been wanting a feature in photos that is in Notes for a long time and it is simple so I have no idea why it hasn't been done. Sure, photos can be hidden, but why not just a simple Lock Album likes Notes has? Great video here!

You’re still using Awesome Note 😮. It was one of my favorites and used it for a very long time. But seemed to be abandoned. BTW, to shift your notes, assuming you are syncing with Evernote, you can export from there.

Peter, does it not seem as though Apple is continually iterating on the Reminders app, making it better while Culture Code (aside from new widgets, font sizes etc.) is not innovating?
Well, I wouldn't put it that way, but Apple is definitely improving Reminders. Not at a huge pace, but there are Reminders improvements every year. I am not sure what Cultured Code are working on. I doubt they're doing nothing but I too feel that they haven't introduced a lot of new features recently. I will say that the "font sizes" were a huge update for them-it perhaps doesn't look that way from the front end, but they had to do a lot of work to make that happen. Still, I'd love to see location-based reminders and attachment support in Things, at a minimum. They're just such no-brainers that would immediately draw in a lot more users for them. But why that's not happening (at least not yet)… I know just as much or little as we all do.
I’ve installed iPad OS 18 on to my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) and while I can record a voice note within Notes, there’s no sign of transcription. I suspect this might be a feature for the M1 models. Anyone else been able to try?

Yes, voice notes in Notes now have transcription. In the Voice Memos app on iPad, I don't see a transcription option yet. Maybe it'll appear in a future beta version.

Thank you! No, you cannot change the actual word or sentence color on iOS. You can on macOS, in a convoluted way, but I don't recommend it because it's kinda hacky. I recorded a Reminders video today so that should be coming out in the next few days. Are you referring to repetition schedules based on completion? No, Reminders still doesn't support that.
