Great honest review, and now it’s on the consideration list thanks 👍🏼
great vid Mat, very honest and love the dog. cheers j
When I polish my cars I like to have a 5” pad on one machine, a 3” on another, then a 1” to deal with any area I need to. Never felt the need to have different throws. I have a Rupes LHR15 MK2, & 75e plus my old DoDo Juice rotary for the spot pad stuff.
Love your honesty. I love my UDOS 51E. Some complain about the weight and vibration. It's about the same weight as a rotary and the vibration part is not an issue. I use it on 3 -4 setting for everything and no issues. I use L.C. pads with different compounds and polishes....no problem. Love it.
Great video, I think this is a cracking idea and I'm sure other manufacturers will do the same. I may have to start saving
Lake Country, give Mat the machine!!!!
Lake county thinking outside the box. All those machines in one is a great idea and high quality we expect from Lake Country. Ideal for the pro and weekend warriors. Awesome review.
Great review Mat. Kinda reminds me of one of those all in one printers, scanners, copier, fax machines from the '90s. If the unit has any issues you lose all features. I'll keep my individualized 8mm, 15mm, 21mm DA'S and my 1,000W rotary. Very cute dog. 😊
I love your video starts! (Mark)
Haha, cheers fella... Have you seen today's video featuring AG products?
@@TheDetailingSpace We have now!
Hi Mat,this UDOS 51E looks a good DA polisher, very simple to use and lead long enough to do the car.
I really wish they could have worked forced rotation into it too. 😁👍
I imagine that'd be next level engineering 😂
I imagine that'd be next level engineering 😂
Haha yeah maybe.😁 Makita has a free/forced polisher.
I think the gen 2 UDOS is gonna be the real star. A few tweaks and refinements here and there can take it to a whole new level. I don't mind the weight, the balance is very good so it handles better than some lighter weight polishers. Vibration is middle of the pack, not terrible by any means, but it's not Rupes smooth either. There is more of it in rotary mode than I expected, definitely more than all 3 of my dedicated rotary polishers.
But I find myself cleaning a lot fewer pads at the end of the day using it. Being able to switch to rotary and hit edges and curves on the fly is super handy. You're dead on with it being a great enhancement polisher, especially if you're not into gear driven polishers.
Hi Mat I’ve seen a few reviews of this product and a good few of them talk about the vibration through the machine while using it, did you find it was like that yourself?
what is better 8mm da with 5 and 3 inch backing plate or 15mm but only with 5inch back plate ?
Hi Matt, thanks for the review.
Agreed, some people may like it, but not for me.
You cannot replace individual machines. 5" 15mm throw, 3" 12mm throw & 1-2" 12mm throw & rotary. Agreed all my machines are over 3 times the cost, but LC are not a company I would be looking at for a machine. Will stick with my Rupes family of machines 👍👍
Great review just received one . Can I confirm your speed wheel goes to 6 mine only goes to 5 and I feel it’s not quite quick enough on large panels
Goes to 6. But I very rarely go past 4 on any machine I've used
@@TheDetailingSpace thanks that’s strange , I’ve also noticed mine has a real short cable when I watched the LC it’s 10foot I best contact them
That looks like a really stout machine and I would definitely get one if it had one more feature.....CORDLESS! If it were cordless, it would probably be the perfect polisher out there of that sized machine. Another great thing would be if Lake Country could develop a small sized machine that has all those same features (including the cordless feature) on par with the iBrid nano or Flex PXE 80 but you can change on the fly like the UDOS. That would be an awesome combo.
Also, what kind of dog is Geoff? That's a beautiful dog.
He's a Bedlington Terrier
@@TheDetailingSpace Thanks for the info, he's gorgeous. Really like that dog. He seems to really love his Dad too!
Thanks 👍
came for the review...stayed for Jeff....
Alright guys just treated myself to one of these not even used it thro I was worried about the collier switching between R and S very stiff wear every other settling change is clunky but smooth anyone else had this issue I contacted the seller but there stand is due to it being new and will ease off with use? What your throughts?
I had that... The spindle inside need to be lined up perfect too to move it to R
@@TheDetailingSpace glad to hear i am not the only 1 having this issue thanks for the info
What was the size of the backing plate?
125mm/5 inch
Looks like a cracking tool Mat. Pricy? yes but I paid over £500 for my iBrid Nano. Looks ideal for an enthusiast like me
Indeed. And that's a great example, you paid £500 for 1 tool... This is 5 tools in 1 unit. Cracking bargain tbh
Think the lead is a bit stingey for that price... you'll be dragging the plug around too much... when you get about double on a Rupes.... though cordless is getting much better
Sorry but this is way overpriced for a corded machine from a manufacturer that makes pads. As far as I’m concerned corded tools have long since had their day. You can also buy both dewalt polishers one with 2 batteries and one naked tool for less than this. I would also have concerns over the longevity of this polisher. I’m also very sceptical of none power tool manufacturers making power tools when they have no history of them.
My thoughts exactly , I've recently got the Dewalt cordless Da and I'm very impressed with it .
Mate they sell DA's at Halfords for 80, where are you buying DA's for 350?
The only people buying this will be self employed detailers where the cost will be written off as a consumable, effectively costing nothing
I don't think they'll buy them as "consumables". You buy a box of nitrile gloves and Kirkland MFs as consumables, not tools.
@@TheDetailingSpace
Don't be facetious, you know what I mean. Also tools can be classed as a consumable for tax purposes, it just depends on what purchase/order reference you put down for your accounts records
Check out flex, rupes etc. Their machine are in the £300 range.
@@TheDetailingSpace
Check out Halfords, Meguiars etc, a lot less than 300
