I was looking for this video 2 years ago and you probably posted a little after I gave in to having them done by shop. Probably missed it by a few days. Lol. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Yeah I check my oil level the next day after the oil has settled and adjust if necessary. I usually find 6 quarts is just the right amount. I should have mentioned in the video how much the owner manual mentions for capacity and how much I typically put in and make sure to check your oil level after each change.
Great video overall. I usually take mine to the Kia dealer but now they want to charge $92 to change the oil. I can get the kit from advance with the Royal Purple oil (the best oil there is I believe) and a filter for $45? My question is how much did you put in? It shows a capacity of 6.9 quarts (unless I am reading it wrong). So a 5 quart jug would not be enough?
Yeah you definitely will save a lot when you do it yourself. I put in 6 quarts. I find after I let the car sit for a while after completing a oil change and then check the dip stick the oil lever is just right. The manual shows capacity of 6.9, but unless you're completely sure you drained 6.9 quarts you don't want to put 6.9 quarts back into the car as you might add too much.
5K miles or 6 months, whatever I hit first. Before the pandemic I was changing it about every 4 months. Good luck on the change, it's always nice to know the job has been done and you saved some money in the process.
I purchased the vehicle in early 2019 and it has not had any major issues. I LOVE this car. Very reliable. I moved up to this car from a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, night and day regarding driving and all the bells and whistles.
I have had it since early 2019 also and it has been amazing. i added the 12voltsolutions remote start to it, and the dealer approved of it. its the oem style use. The only issue i had was a defective multifunction switch causing the DRL lights to randomly come on and a button stick on the door handle. all under their 5yr/60k warranty bumper to bumper and power train is 10yr/100k. Honestly very peppy and comfortable car. i wish the stereo had more controls over where the bass came from but its an infinite baffle subwoofer. they used the front doors as filler for some frequencies.
Ty😊😊😊
You're welcome
What type oil
@@JoshGeez I use SuperTech SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic, purchased at my local Walmart.
Thank you so much for the 27mm reference. Youre a lifesaver
You're very welcome!

Now you can save some money and do it yourself next time. I'm glad you found this.
Might help to mention it takes 7 quarts to fill back up not 5. Other than that great walk through.

is it worth it? I am thinking about why I do not ask someone to change my oil, but every time they overcharge me and waste my time.
@Amir Rezazadeh For me it's worth it. When you do it yourself you save time and money.

Have you by any chance done a transmission fluid drain-and-fill ?
No sorry, I have not completed that service before. If/when that comes up I'll make sure to record it and post.
Dude thank you so much for this video! I'm about to attempt this for the first time. How many miles do you drive per oil change using fill synthetic?
5K miles or 6 months, whatever I hit first. Before the pandemic I was changing it about every 4 months. Good luck on the change, it's always nice to know the job has been done and you saved some money in the process.
Great video. Is your floor jack 2 tones or 3 tones? and what brand? thanks
@Amir Rezazadeh It's a Powerbuilt 3 ton capacity floor jack. Believe I picked it up at an Oriell's Auto store several years back.
It's my first time changing my own oil
How much am I supposed to use?
You should look at your car's owner manual. It should tell you the amount and what viscosity oil you should use.
Can you explain your shirt?
@benm5651 No I'm sorry I cannot. I have no clue what it means. To be honest, I don't even remember where I got that shirt.
@@ivanankrom I'm guessing it's from a missionary or something
Is this car reliable, any issues etc?

How much oil does it take ?
I put in 6 quarts
@@ivanankrom per what amsoil recommends it should take just under 7qt. 6.9qt. be sure you arent low. i checked with kia also. 3.3L should take 6.9
@CorruptedSS Thank you for that information. Definitely check the engine oil level after completing an oil change.
What kind of oil?
@Zach, I use SuperTech SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic
