One role that doesn't get much attention is playing Doc in Inherent Vice. Talk about bringing a character to life. The movie has a great director and cast and Joaquin really delivers as the central/main character. His scenes with Josh Brolin are great to watch and rewatch.

He's developed into one of those characters that shines in any role he takes on. Joker is a hell of a downward slide but a very powerful piece in it's own right and something he carries well.
That's crazy how he looked up to his brother and it was his brothers footsteps that he was walking in early on and basically only being in his shadow, but it was his bother that knew Joaquin had what it took to act and he wanted him to act, he obviously saw something Joaquin didn't see in himself at the time. I did not know that he was River Phoenix's younger brother when I watch the Gladiator. I hated the man he was representing in that movie. Such emotion surfacing in me means that he was a good actor. Knowing that he was River's younger brother made me recall how I enjoyed River's performances in the past and such enjoyment was cut short by his death. I must have been 9 years old when I stumbled upon The Gladiator VCD. The fight scenes especially with the tigers were truly memorable but what kept me rooting for the good guy was the emperor. I didn't know who was the actor then but he made me felt hate.
The first time I really noticed Joaquin was "Signs" I realize Mel Gibson had the lead in that film but there was just something about his acting that you could relate too and it felt inviting. So I started watching more of his films. "Master" is a really good performance with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman of which I adore as well. Most recently, another film Joaquin did that I thought was really good "Dont worry, he won't get far" tells the story of an alcoholic who becomes confined to a wheel chair. Really well done. I did like Joker but I cant say it's his best performance.

I realize Mel Gibson had the lead in that film but there was just something about his acting that you could relate too and it felt inviting. So I started watching more of his films. "Master" is a really good performance with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman of which I adore as well. Most recently, another film Joaquin did that I thought was really good "Dont worry, he won't get far" tells the story of an alcoholic who becomes confined to a wheel chair.
Really well done. I did like Joker but I cant say it's his best performance.

Did not know that River was his brother 😲 . To bad they did not grow old together.
He is a talented deep actor. He really gave the joker everything. Brilliant 👍🇮🇪
His best role for me (that left me in tears) was as Freddie in The Master.
I saw joker, Joaquin is super talented, one of the best actors out there
