He plays "crazy" pretty well. In We Own The Night, he had hints of darkness. I can't shake the feeling that he'd make a great Joker adaptation. I don't know how his laugh would work, but his scar on his upper lip and his charisma make me think he'd pull it off wonderfully.

He’s been underrated but is an acting heavyweight now that JOKER has been released. He may be the most brilliant American actor working in films today.

Signs was the first film I ever saw of his. I think I was 6 or 7 when I watched it. It’s so underrated!
Now joker is best..... A masterpiece which our next generation will also talk about... Sad that he was so underrated...
I think it might just be me, but he looks a bit like Michael Fassbender in some of these films.

I think his performance in "Quills" was seriously underrated. I would've put it up there with "Inherent Vice" or "Gladiator."

Joaquin Phoenix always delivers. In recent times he was fabulous in IRRATIONAL MAN. Losing River so young was devastating to cinema. However, Joaquin demonstrated his great gift in his early teens and then blasted off with TO DIE FOR. We have been blessed by the younger Phoenix brother’s acting powers. He’s been underrated but is an acting heavyweight now that JOKER has been released. He may be the most brilliant American actor working in films today.

He played a role of a mommy's son Beau Wassermann in "Beau is Afraid" and for me it's one of his best roles and now I can say that He's my favourite actor
