Same with casino gambling.
There's an old, old saying: "A fool and his money are soon parted."
There's another old saying: "The house always wins!"
And it's all about separating you from your money. They WANT your money. They don't care about what happens to you.
Wise up kids.
I was a degenerate gambler at one time. Did it from college until my 40’s. Almost everyday. Got up one day and realized I had completely lost interest in the action. I’ve seen people lose their families, house’s, businesses. None of my friends gambled. I was the only one. I knew gamblers but didn’t hang out with them. I don’t miss the action in the slightest. It’s been over 25 years since my last play.
Pardon the pun but I feel lucky to have just walked away so easily and still maintain my love of sports.
Shoving any gambling down the through to entice otherwise innocent people should be a crime.
It will only lead to a disaster for the majority of hooked players.
You can’t listen to sport radio anymore without them pushing parlay cards. The fools and their money

The NFL used to be scared half to death of betting getting a hold on their sport, not so much anymore, eh.
That's because NFL makes money on it now.

When I was a young man you needed to be in a bar or tavern and make your best with the bookie in the back room. They wrote them on water dissolving paper. Now all you need is a smart phone and a checking account
I know 2 guys, in their 30's, who died of a heart attack because they had $500 bets on close footbal games. Seriously.
And they were blue collar guys who could not afford to do that.
Think this was by accident? All by design

If that were true there wouldn't be any professional gamblers.
It is not impossible to win betting sports. There are thousands of full time sports bettors in the US alone. Most lose but not all.
I used to go on DK and bet on golf quite a bit. Funny thing I noticed almost every single week when I would scroll through the leaderboard on the betting site, I noticed the same person had 2-3 tickets winning in the top 10. Sorry, there’s not that good a handicapper anywhere. It’s a scam.
100% correct Bill ! I used to gamble on Sports. Started out $25-50 dollars per game was going well then bumped up stakes to $100-200 per game. I gave it up thankfully when I turned 30 and wised up.. Yes its a total waste of money and the sports-books have a huge edge they will also give you a credit line to trap you into debt. I started putting money in the market high dividend yields and some stocks.. really wish I did that in my early 20's instead of wasting it on sports gambling. I play a yearly fantasy football league for $50 dollars now a days but that's it !
Even when you win you still lose money
Bill the increase of the amount betting from 93 million to 120 million has to do with Biden-nomics or in another word, Inflation.

It was not about the “right” to gamble rather how damaging it is to “seduce” new naive people into gambling.
