"WndrCo, Jeffrey Katzenberg’s mobile-entertainment holding company, has made one of its first investments: It’s taken a stake in TYT Network, one of the top online-video political news networks.
TYT Network, whose flagship show is The Young Turks, closed $20 million in funding led by growth equity firm 3L Capital with participation from Greycroft, e.ventures and WndrCo.
The company said it will use the investment to hire additional management execs and creative talent, as well as enhance its subscription-video offering and expand marketing initiatives. TYT also said it expects to tap into the relationships of its new investors - 3L, Greycroft, e.ventures and WndrCo - for new growth opportunities.
TYT, with more than 200 million views a month on RUclips, was founded by CEO Cenk Uygur (pictured above) as an online radio show in 2002. The Young Turks, the left-leaning news and commentary show co-hosted by Uygur, is now the longest-running daily live-streamed show online.”*

I looked up the investor. His name is Jeffrey Katzenberg. He's a major donor to the Democrats, and he has a history of using that influence to swing policy in favor of his business. Fortunately, that business is the Hollywood movie industry, something TYT doesn't cover much, and which doesn't impact people's lives in serious ways. Still, it's troubling to see Cenk is willing to take big money from this guy. I hope he's right that this, and similar future donations, won't influence content.

EVERYONE is somewhere on the political spectrum whether they identify with a donkey or elephant. I don't support a party but with a gun to my head and I had to pick, i wouldn't pick the party whose first and last civil rights president was honest abe, disenfranchises, and promotes the southern strategy in 2017 because some Dixiecrats in the 60s aligned with the kkk to win voters after desegregation while lbj a documented racist still signed the civil rights act and voting rights act. So if I had to pick a party I'd pick the the racist who still passed legislation that helps people in 2017. Fun fact the religious rights start was in the issue was school desegregation in the 60s tainted by Nixon they supported a georiga bible study leader jimmy carter who had rejected them, did a lot of foreign policy work as president and became possibly the greatest humanitarian ex president in us history and was blocked from the dnc speeches by aipac democratic donors for coining the "apartheid-Israel" label.

I've listen to everything, I just have to ask. How will the investors get their money back? This is what people question as a motive. They did not give you the money, they invested. What are the payback terms? I think its a valid question that was not answered.
To be honest, I don't agree with a lot of TYT's views, but I have to give credit to them for covering issues like money in politics, drone strikes, the water crisis in Flint, etc. Their hearts are in the right place when it comes to helping people and covering stories that are usually covered up by the MSM. To that, I say congratulations.

The influence is implicit. Do you really think that the investor is going to invest in a growing media company, only to have the media company (TYT) take positions against (and influence possibly) the company itself or the investment industry as a whole? The influence comes in what is NOT reported.

Cenk's always asked for viewer donations on the premise that it's what keeps the show independent. He always made it sound like 'golly gee, we want to be independent, but we need your money to make that a reality' and I took it as a threat. This is that threat realized. Also, where the hell is the investigative journalism if you're swimming in Katzenberg cash? Never saw it after your donation drive where you took MY money for it, and still see nothing. And no, TYT Investigates does not count -_- That channel is a joke.
It's Cenk's own logic that a person doesn't invest in something to the tune of millions of dollars without expecting something in return. This is dishonest, or Cenk is working hard to rationalize selling out. I think he knows better. His whole brand suggests he knows better. This could somewhat be ameliorated if a legitimate branch of investigative journalism came out of this, but I haven't seen much beyond reading other news outlets' headlines as reporting.
Cenk's strategy against money in politics (which has been Cenk's strategy for 10 years now) is to use the exact same money in politics against those who support money in politics. The ultimate goal here is to pass a law.

Todd boerke I recommend watching one or two videos a day that seem interesting to you for a couple weeks. Make sure the ones you watch have Cenk, Ana, or Jon iaodrala on them. Some of the other hosts are clowns.
Todd boerke I don't know about any particular video. I normally watch the news recap vids at the end of the day. There are plenty of hosts across the TYT Network to check out. My longtime fav is Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk, but he's very liberal, so I wouldn't recommend you start with him.

I think that can naturally happen if you feel very strongly about a topic, and its clear she articulates her points with passion, I just wish when she projected her reasoning the deliverance was a bit toned down.
