The shelves look stunning, Mel!! Now I have plans for my future shelves. 😆 I’ve never seen anyone organize books this way before, and it really is super convenient.
And series i put together in Read. But i turn those that i haven't read around, so that they shame me into reading them to get the good feeling of being able to turn them around 😂
omg seeing the blank bookcases behind you (11:35) took me back to i think your first bookshelf organisation video or like before you moved idk but years ago. been watching u for so long.
i LOVE the end result!! I only have about 20 books on my physical TBR (goal is to always have 20 or less) so i keep my unread mixed in with my read because it’s easier to keep track since it’s a small number. I definitely think when your TBR is big it’s best to keep them separate! Being able to move the books from unread to read shelves is gonna be so satisfying and rewarding!!
I started this two years ago or smth bc my physical TBR is around a 100 and it really is so rewarding 😂😂 I want to have a smaller TBR but as a bookseller it's so hard to resist buying new books especially if we have special offers like 4for3, where you get one book for free but I get better :'D
These look amazing! I've always separated my read and unread books because my brain would explode if I had to build a TBR while simultaneously trying to remember what books are still unread. 🤕
LOVE it!! I have recently moved and still havent figured out the best way to organize my shelves. I love the idea of lights and plants and just general witchy vibes. Those lego flowers are such a good idea!
Mel the shelves turned out soooo cute!! I love all the little trinkets you put in them, it definitely adds a more personal touch, along with the fairy lights which are just a vibe✨
Nice. One suggestion: Would move the beautiful sprayed edged books down one shelf and take the junior grade ones there up one shelf. I'm inspired to move my books around! 🎉
I pretty much organize my books the same way--age group and genre--but I like to pull my unread books out about an inch from the rest of the shelves, because that way I can keep my organizational system together as well as series, but my unread books really stand out and I don't lose them in the stacks. The only exception to this is when I stack books because you can't really pull books slightly out of a stack lol
Looks so good! You could always just turn out books you read and liked so you know to move them but immediately get rid of books you don’t like. I like to put them in a stack and donate once it gets big enough. That way I have time to change my mind too 😂
I have an unread bookshelf as well as a read bookshelf. It makes sense to me. I’m confused how people keep track of what’s what when they’re all mixed together. I really like the visual reminder.
I've actually run out of shelf space for my books. I have a shelf full of unread (it's similar to your skinny billy), and then a short shelf (it has three shelves on it) full of my reads - I have an SJM shelf, a fantasy shelf (it's overflowing), and a thriller shelf (also overflowing)... I don't have space for romance books or other fantasy and thrillers. My SJM shelf is the only one decorated as it's the only one with actual space to be decorated. So this makes me want bigger shelves!
I feel like all of us book girlies have the same nails. 💅 they are almond shaped, not too long and the right pastel shade for end of summer and beginning of fall. It’s just so funny and interesting to me.
its just a suggestion, and I dont know if it will fit, but you could try and use the last bookstand (the one you used on your tbr shelf) to display the plate next to the mug. love the decor choices
🍄❤ Also, not to sound like I'm trying to add to your TBR, but there are two other books in the All Souls Series, and Juniper Books recently released another Special Edition set of the series that includes the other two books (I only mention this because of how much you love A Discovery of Witches).
i use my top shelf for tbr and the other three are read. tbr shelf is almost double stacked 😅 and i have read books in storage from moving out of mom's house then back in 😭 i want to have small tbr but i just love buying books! plus when i was young i had to reread my books multiple times because we couldnt afford new books and i was too shy to go to the library
I think it turned out great! Separating out the tbr is a smart idea. I haven't ever done so fully because I hate breaking up series and author collections when I've only read them partially, but I do have a tbr shelf of either standalones or series I haven't started and it is definitely inspiring to shop my own shelf when I'm looking for the next read :D Other than that, my organizing is in good part driven by necessity: I have always druther spend money on books than shelves, so my house is full of a hodgepodge of inherited/thrifted/bought/homemade shelves. It does make it easy to sort by theme though! I have a separate shelf specifically for my sci-fi, one for adult fantasy, one for kids' fiction. The manga is scattered about though, there's too much to just sort by genre XD love seeing Villains are Destined to Die in here btw!!! A+ series.
They looked great before and now they are super cosy. I just moved my room around and now I'm thinking about a plant or two that can hang over the Bookshelf corner as my desk is in-between two billy's
Your shelves look amazing 🍄 🍄 I need a book shelf slowly putting together my book nok at the moment my read books are in a bin unread on top of bin and books that I read and didn't enjoy are in a free little library
Good job, chula! I want to thank you for recommending Love, Theoretically. I loved it. I’ve discovered I like Ali Hazelwood’s books. Have you read The Storied Life of AJ Fikry?
I also organize my books in age group and genre but I also do publisher after that cuz I like consistency in book sizes and I don't like it when they aren't equal in height.
I have my books organized by genre, then alphabetized by author. I used to turn around all of my read books so that it was easier to find my unread books. I think I'm going to do that again.
Hola!!! Porque ya no haces vídeos de Read whit me? 😢 Amo ese tipo de vídeos y me toca ver los tuyos de hace 2 años😅 Porfa haz más de esos vídeo son muy buenos❤
The shelves look stunning, Mel!! Now I have plans for my future shelves. 😆 I’ve never seen anyone organize books this way before, and it really is super convenient.
Aghhhh I love watching book organization videos 😭 and for me I just sort my books by vibe and if it looks good 😭
Okay okay I’ll reorganize my shelves again
I’m barely ten minutes into the video and I already want to reorganise my shelves with you! 😅 such cute decor ideas!
Bookshelf organization videos give me such a feeling of zen
I shelve my books: read/unread, then genre, then themes (so unread - fantasy - books with dragons/witchy f. ex)
And series i put together in Read. But i turn those that i haven't read around, so that they shame me into reading them to get the good feeling of being able to turn them around 😂
omg seeing the blank bookcases behind you (11:35) took me back to i think your first bookshelf organisation video or like before you moved idk but years ago. been watching u for so long.
yeah 3 years ago!! wild omg.

Mel the shelves turned out soooo cute!! I love all the little trinkets you put in them, it definitely adds a more personal touch, along with the fairy lights which are just a vibe✨
The tiny Stormlight shelf!!! ❤
I love that you added the lights!
I also organize by genre, and read vs tbr!
Nice. One suggestion: Would move the beautiful sprayed edged books down one shelf and take the junior grade ones there up one shelf.

Your new shelves looks so stunning! I love them

Oooo they look so stunning
I literally organize by books purely by vibes
its just a suggestion, and I dont know if it will fit, but you could try and use the last bookstand (the one you used on your tbr shelf) to display the plate next to the mug. love the decor choices
I really should reorganize my shelves… but it’s so daunting to me lol
🍄❤

I loved this!! ❤ I also have my books separated are read and unread, so I love see yours like this too. 🍄

Ahh, I love your shirt!!😍🤭
My shelfs are organized after country were the books werr originally written/language/Mythologie/... and so on. And then in genres.
I LOVEEEEEEE these shelves! Definite inspiration for my next organization
I saw "As long as the lemon trees grow" on your shelf... if you haven't read this yet I highly recommend reading it.
I love the end result 🍄🍄
they look amazing!! I’ve also been meaning to rearrange for fall
also thanks for this ad dude they have gothic cat trees im so sold.
Mine are fully separated between unread and read, even the series. It’s satisfying to read one and move it to the read shelves
Guuurl! I'm in the middle of reorganizing myself. I am doing unread and read. (Yikes) 😅 This is humbling.
OMG they look so good

Luv ur 📚 shelves 🩷🩵💞
Did you try using the spare book stand to stand up the plate? Your shelves look so good!
Hi! Where did you get those golden book display thingys? Question B, what are they called properly?😅
If you haven't read it you should read Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs
Urban werewolf fantasy
I have my books organized by genre, then alphabetized by author. I used to turn around all of my read books so that it was easier to find my unread books. I think I'm going to do that again.
I'm only 15 minutes in, but: I heard it's better not having the books all the way against the bookshelf or wall so air can circulate, preventing mold!
-I dont need to buy more books -I dont need to buy more books -I dont need to buy more books -I dont need to buy more books 📖 😊
sitting through the advertisement because it's cat related xD
Where did you get your t-shirt?
Mushrooms 🍄
🍄Love your shelf organization ❤ if you’re ever interested, ‘Matcha made in heaven’ series are very good! Would love your reaction to it☺️ 🍄
