I loved watching this video, the satisfaction. But honestly, it also makes me so glad I started just giving books away after I read them. I LOVE the bookshelf aesthetic, but I love books having new lives with others. If I keep them, they will just gather dust. And I have enough books sitting on the shelf just waiting to be read.

idk if this will make any sense to anyone but I organise my books by countries so not only the series aren’t split up but also the authors and then I put countries into continents - so all asian books together, all european books together and so on it works WONDERS ✨
Annihilation is such a great lovecraftian, unsettling book. It works as a standalone but the whole Southern Reach trilogy which tells the complete story from Annihilation to Authority to Acceptance is both captivating and entertaining.

16:45 I have a Notion page for all my books. There I organize them by tbr, currently reading and finished. I also have subcategories such as rating on a scale from 1 to 5, genre, obv author name and number of pages. I read a lot of e-books, so I like to be able to actually see all the books I've read in overview. Also I mostly read on my kindle and only buy the physical copy if i really love the book. I love having paperbacks but I hate having my room fill up with piles of books I don't actually like and will never look again

One thing that I’ve found to be a great help with books and bookshelves is a cleaning aid. Get some wood boards. About 2-3 inches by 1 inch. Cut lengths maybe a 0.5 inch shorter than each shelf that will contain books. Sand the edges. Place each length onto each shelf. Orient so that the 1 inch side is flat to the back panel of the shelf. Put books in place. Now when you want to do a basic dusting you just tip the books (however many you can push back and hold with one hand) towards the back and dust. I find that with generally anything the books always get pushed to the back of the shelves and it makes a pain to clean. Also with the books on higher shelves when they’re pushed back you can’t clearly see what’s there.
