i don’t see many people talk about building confidence to do content creation so hearing about it from you felt so real.. but it’s so wholesome to see you grow in that sense, hope you feel even more comfortable soon >.
as someone who's trying to improve their english these videos do wonders for me. i absolutely love hearing you talk! i hope you do more vlogs in the future🤍
I love this video. A way I get myself into reading is by listening to classical music. Also depending on the genre that I’m reading I’ll play music that goes with the book or what I feel would play in that world. Also a good chair or spot is essential for comfort and good lighting to not strain your eyes. About the color, call me crazy but I loved the blue for the dining area, I feel the colors were very, very dark and I know Benji wants the cozy color but I’m no interior designer. But I feel your home already has that vibe going for it. It’s cozy, I feel not everything “cozy” has to be dark. It’s the things inside and the people that live in it that adds that cozy feeling. The warm welcome and the environment helps it a lot, in my humble (dumb) opinion. Thanks for taking us on a regular day with you Chris!
You two are the sweetest. It was fun to see everything from your point of view (your desk, reading, etc). Thanks for sharing your day with us! I just finished The True Deceiver by Tove Jansson and really loved it.
I loved the darkest shade of green for the living room! The furniture and light fixture are both light in colour, so I think they would balance each other out well. As for reading slumps; I'm in one myself and suck at getting out of them - but at the same time I am "great" at reading more than one book at a time (I currently have 12 books listed as "currently reading" on GoodReads). One of my current reads is 'The Empty Mirror: Experiences in a Japanese Zen Monastery' by Janwillem van de Wetering, recommended to me by one of my professors at uni.
God, I wish I was as chilled as you and Benjamin are, I’m coming up to my 60th at the end of the month and I’m a carer for my partner who has MS, but like you Chris I’m trying to read, I’ve just started reading about the great Harvey Milk. Please stay safe and well and give the Hairy babies a big cuddle.❤️🏳️🌈🇬🇧🙏
With a strong paint (which can be an amazing look) try painting just one wall. It can be a precursor to painting the entire room or it can be an amazing accent wall. If it goes bad it's not an overwhelming thing to come back from. We once painted a house exterior. Was a bit cringe. 😬🙄Repainted.
i think your haircut looks good and great skin! thank you for sharing a day in the life with us and being real about your challenges with reading. very relateable!
Chris and Benji talking about books or random things in a video every week, that's what this people (and me) NEEDS 🦋✨️✨️✨️✨️ I'm following you from Argentina, love the content 🇦🇷
When I'm in a reading slump,I try audio books,or switch to a new book or just take a week off reading and just keep watching book related contents on socials after this I feel more into reading. It works for me,i hope you found one of the helpful Chris
I recently reread several books I hadn't read in years - funny how you always see something new or you don't remember. The Alchemist and The Changeling Garden are two. New reads are The Dead Cat Tail Assassins by P. Djeli.Clark if you like science fiction. Good luck with overcoming your slump.
I am so proud of you, Chris!! I was ecstatically surprised to discover that you did a day in the life!! It was a pleasure to watch. I appreciate and love how sincere and down to earth you are. Do more, please!! I hope you recover from your reading slump ... it took me years (sorry to say). But a few months ago, I literally forced myself to pick up a book by my favorite author, Kristin Hannah. I was totally immersed in it. Finished the book and have recently purchased her newest release. However, the book has been sitting untouched on my coffee table for a few weeks. Life goes on ....
y'all's channels are my sunday reset before the work week 🙏🏻 glad you're settling into making videos and feeling more comfortable. i'm sure it'll take some time, but you're doing great. as far as what folks are reading, i'm reading "the red arrow" by william brewer, a favorite poet of mine who put this out as his first novel two years ago. definitely recommend so far!
You are so real for that. I’m also trying to get into making videos (not professionally, just for myself and memories so I can rewatch them) and it feels so weird talking to a camera or talking in public 😅
Thanks for sharing your day! Even though it's not always easy to be seen, it's been so lovely to see a slice of your life. I'm currently re-listening to the House in the Cerulean Sea in anticipation of the release of Somewhere Beyond the Sea next Tuesday. So excited for this, and would be very interested to hear what you think of the sequel.
"Monk and Robot" and "Small Angry Planet" from Becky Chambers have been my favorite recently. "Kill the Farm Boy"-Tales of Pell Series was also very fun for me to readd
I'm interested in the ideas about getting out of a reading slump, too! Also, I love the middle paint sample. Because it's green, I think it'll read less dark than other colors might. Let those ugly comments drift away on the breeze. Sit with the comments full of affection and connection. I think it's what you'd suggest for a friend, so do the same thing for yourself. All people deserve respect and affection, including ourselves.
I’m so in love with your channel :) just finished The Recipes for Love and Murder by Sally Andrew, and it’s such a heart-warming and cute book, despite being a crime story. Currently listening to the anniversary edition of American Gods by Neil Gaiman (already read the paper version but I’m a serial reader). Also, I’m for the paler green, or may be something just a little bit warmer and darker, but not too dark.
Glad to see you back. Always a wonderful watch. Get a bit worried when someone says their getting a bit too overdone with rl and have to put other things they enjoy on back burner. Love the slow wander into the day. Would love for you to read Carlos Ruiz Zafon. He has a series of books set in Barcelona. Very engaging and well written. A young man whose father owns a old book store there. He is a very rich writer. I swear I can feel and smell the surroundings as his characters move thru them. These are mysteries set over several generations. A series of books which have 'characters' of books, book stores and mythos.
I got out of a reading slump by just reading the 'guilty pleasure' books, that aren't necessarily 'good' or 'productive' to read. 'Fast food' books. Also watching ppl with similar tastes to mine review and suggest books really gets me excited to read them. Sometimes just scrolling through book stores and seeing something I'd like to read helps (especially if you already have that in your physical tbr or something similar or the same author).
Yayy another Chris video!!! this video was so nice and chill I loved it I love y’all and Theo my baby 🧡🧡 he’s so cute😭 Okayy yumyumyucki stream iktr!!! Also I think paint the room dark green, idk to me it feels like it just fits
Hey Chris, I really enjoy your content! It’s so calming and just a pleasure to watch. I think you are a very likable person. I’m also a bit of a reserved person and I usually never comment on RUclips videos. I found you through Benji and I’m excited to see more videos from you. Right now, I’m reading *Under the Whispering Door* by T.J. Klune, and I highly recommend it. Best regards from Germany 😊 P.S.: For your reading slump, I would recommend watching videos of people talking about their favorite books or sharing recommendations to get excited about new books again.
Thanks for the video. I am currently enjoying 'A stopover in Venice' by Kathryn Walker. I'm only 92 pages in, but I'm really enjoying the plot. It centers around a woman who gets off a train in Venice, leaving behind her husband who is a famous musician. I like that she is nervous about venturing out on her own and also thrilled by the experience.
Love this, slow mornings are good for the soul! I also adore all the nature that is at your home, what a dream!! BTW! Answering to your question, I just finished reading The Will of The Many! :)💜
Honestly... I really love the contents you upload.... They feel super real and your voice makes it very soothing. I always look forward to your videos . Oh.... I am reading " the winners" of the Beartown trilogy by Frederick Backman now
hi Chris!! hello from a fellow librarian :) I’m currently reading Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar. it’s so good! I would recommend Martyr! if you’re in a reading slump because each “chapter” is extremely short, so it makes you feel like you’re making progress and it’s easier to pick up/put down the book more often. I would say the same for short story books - like a lot of Japanese fiction.
the dining room has so much natural light I think it would do well with the darker green! it'll look really nice especially with the red chairs since they're complementary colors :-) loved the video
I wanted to mention that I was an/am a artist (retired teacher). I think the dark green color would be a good choice for your accent wall. It's a cooler/rich color that will contrast real well with all the wood tones you have in your house.
I have ADHD too and I really struggle with actually dedicating time to reading unless I'm REALLY hooked by the plot, because there are so many other activites more stimulating for me. So, I found Benji's hack around 3:10 really smart. Might try it for myself. About your slump, I'd say don't force it. Maybe just take a break from reading for a while even though it itches to read. It's okay! You'll get back to it eventually :)
This is so cute haha! Thanks for sharing and I hope you continue because you are very relatable. I am still going through Prince Lestat by Anne Rice :)
I’m reading if we were villains right now. But honestly even after like 40 % of the book I’m not hooked yet. Maybe I won’t finish it. Which I rarely do when I already read so much of it. Love seeing your day 💕
I'm quebecoise so I mostly read in french, Ive been reading a french apocalyptic series called U4 about a virus that kills everyone except teenagers. The series is 4 books and its 4 different authors writing about 4 different teens but their stories are interlinked. its really good!
I just got back into reading after a year! 1984, Fullfilment: Winning and Losing in One-Click America, A New American Revolution, Status: Why Is It Everywhere? So lots of political books. Also you and Benji are so low key and cute lolll I love the relaxed vibe
Thank you for your Day in the Life video. Today I finished reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. It was the last of ten Victorian novels I've been reading with a friend.
love seeing you doing vlogs now! I grew up seeing lots of youtubers made vlogs like work routine and became obsessed with viewerships. I really hope you won't turn into one of them and just do vlogs whenever you feel most comfortable with and not letting your subscribers lead u what you need to film and ask for non stop updates x
I didn't really expect it but same with Katseye. I even bought their album and usually I don't like learning dances but theirs? Yeah, watch me dancing Touch multiple times a day And I agree I like the dark green :) The vlog was so cozy, i loved it!!
Or do both: audiobook simultaneously with the physical. I listen while following along with the physical. It keeps my ears and eyes busy and I get less distracted.

Great video guys. You live such a calm peaceful life. Thanks for sharing.

i appreciate your entire vibe - don't do a thing different than being you to your most

The dark green paint looks good! Darker colors look really good with the right warm ambient lighting.
You are doing a wonderful job. You have a calming voice; necessary in this chaotic world.
Perfect video
Hey Chris, just had to tell ya, the new haircut looks GREAT! You look so friggin handsome!
Haircut looks fly!
No because this is Chris' best video so far!!! girlie decided to CUT UP AND DEVOUR with this vlog
Your hair looks great!!
Ok but your household is like so adorable. You could say there should be a book on it.
You are so real for that. I’m also trying to get into making videos (not professionally, just for myself and memories so I can rewatch them) and it feels so weird talking to a camera or talking in public 😅
Just finished Comfort me with apples and I loved it!
The video I've been waiting for... Finally! 🥰. Good day to all of you!
There's going to be a sequel?!?! Exciting!
I heard your suggestion and picked up “tender is the flesh” from the library, so that’s my current read. So far, so good!
Switching genres helps me out of a reading slump! That’s why my recently read is so weird haha jumps from Emily Henry books to Darcy Coates books
"Monk and Robot" and "Small Angry Planet" from Becky Chambers have been my favorite recently. "Kill the Farm Boy"-Tales of Pell Series was also very fun for me to readd

Love u Chris ❤
My tip for reading slumps is short books, Novellas, or a book of short stories/essays!
For a good novella I recommend Shopgirl by Steve Martin.
can we get a Chris and Benji podcast?(like one episode for each month)
I enjoyed this video a lot! I'm reading The Peacock Spring by Rumer Godden and it's very entertaining, like a period drama almost 😆
Thank you for your Day in the Life video. Today I finished reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. It was the last of ten Victorian novels I've been reading with a friend.
Been reading Margaret Millar mysteries. Her style is vv straightforward. Some old timey gangster style dialogue too.
I just love your videos so much
Btw I’m re reading piranesis for the third time hihi
Hope everybody has a great weekend

this is my favorite video from you yet!!
Hi Chris! Great video! I've been reading Vengeance Is Mine by Marie NiDiaye. It gets a terrible Goodreads score but I've really been enjoying it.
Oh this is just what i needed today 🥰 you're sooo cozy
I didn't really expect it but same with Katseye. I even bought their album and usually I don't like learning dances but theirs? Yeah, watch me dancing Touch multiple times a day
