    Wire ferrules are the best way to terminate the wires for this application. They are similar to spade connectors, but designed for this type of terminal block.

    The problem with "neat and tidy" is this, by leaving the excess uncut you end up with having so much cable, tightly looped back onto and over itself, which instantly makes it a poor man's transformer, as well as a useless inductor, destroying the cables ability to handle it's rated current without major over heating problems arising if used continuously on a hot night, or during the day.

    Since you already had the fork terminals on all you needed to do was fold a fork over on itself or cut 1 of the fork legs off and would slide right in. That way you didn't need to do anything and keep the stock shrink tube already on it

    • @ColeCulture
      @ColeCulture  7 месяцев назад +2

      You can wire it to another switch on your switch panel but honestly I’m not sure if I would recommend these lights unless it’s a side by side or work truck. I would look into diode dynamics for the lights and I would look into switch works for a switch panel for your daily.

    • @bigdrew66854
      @bigdrew66854 6 месяцев назад +2

      You can 100% wire it up to work but it takes the space of another button (switch/unit/gang) all you have to do is wire up the lights to one gang like normal then wire the yellow wire to another gang (that’s negative daisy chained to the first) and switch the second (yellow wire gang) it on and off to switch modes. I just tried it with a rocker switch and it works. The power from the “yellow wire” to a rocker switch switches modes but you then have to switch it on then off or it will revert back to solid white. It tricks the first switch into mode selection. But you have to switch it back off once the desired mode is achieved or it will revert back to solid white (first setting).

      @@bigdrew66854 Will you help me with this a bit more? For switch 2 that will control the modes, does the yellow wire from the lights wire into the power from the switch panel? Where does the negative wire from the switch panel go?

    • @bigdrew66854
      @bigdrew66854 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@nickfailla4453 switch/gang one will take the red and negative wire. Switch two will take the yellow wire (which is the mode selector wire) to the positive post. You need to daisy chain a negative wire from post /gang 1 to 2. (Gang/switch 1 will have the red and black wire to it, switch two will have the yellow and a negative in it) Now when doing this to select modes you need to turn on switch two then turn off (or have switch two set in momentary mode is easiest that way when you press the button it automatically turns off which is what you have to do) to go through modes. Find the mode you want and turn switch 2 on then off. If you don’t turn it off the lights will revert back to solid white which is the default first setting. Auxbeam says it doesn’t work but I made it work and sent them a video proving it works. Only down side is it take up a switch on your panel. I bought the 12 gang because my 97 F250hd has lights everywhere and I like having the option of the strobes when I’m recovering a vehicle somewhere. Hope this helps it 100% works with AUxbeam gang switch as well as any rocker switch chain.

      This is the info I’ve been looking for. Thank you. So it looks like your clicking the button that turns on the lights multiple times to go through the cube lite setting? I thought you’d have to wire the switch into a separate spot on the panel. One button the turn on the cubes and another to switch modes. How did you get it to work?

    How do you change the fog lights modes with the switch panel?? Is it possible?

    • @ColeCulture
      @ColeCulture  9 месяцев назад +1

      Aux beam says it isn’t possible. But for other companies lights all you have to do is cut the harness and route it to a separate switch. So if power goes to switch 1 then light modes would be ran to switch 2. All on the same panel. Thats my theory but I haven’t done it yet so I can’t confirm.

    Is it possible to lower the light of the buttons? They seem pretty bright at night...

    • @ColeCulture
      @ColeCulture  5 месяцев назад

      They are extremely bright, you can lower the brightness on the app but it doesn’t save. So everytime you start the truck you have to open the app and do it again.

    • @QUIX4U
      @QUIX4U 4 месяца назад

      @@ColeCulture Or, open the control unit itself and put a voltage dropping resistor across the light circuit itself, such that it will forever remain dimmed, as - like you said, once you get used to knowing which switch does what, you may never actually "look' at the unit while changing it's settings.
      So reducing the glare in a truck is an advantage better done permanently instead of each & every time you power it up.

    From what I've been looking at the web so far, you buy Auxbeam for their switch system + v2.0 rock lights and *avoid* their other lights if you want ''function'' more than ''looks''. Morimoto will always beat the crap out of Auxbeam for function/security (and well, OF COURSE they're more expensive!) And those tests on the web, they can never review *in the long run* so people from the rust belt or up north don't have a clue about long term and just have to trust the reviews. For example, I DOUBT the hardware here is actual stainless steel... That being said, I might buy the switch system with rock lights for an RV van in the future. I like the way it sets up. But won't go with their light bars or pods unless I see a few good reviews and conclusive tests.

    • @ColeCulture

      Auxbeam is my pick for “cheap” lighting. But the best quality lights on the market are Diode Dynamics. A close second place would be Baja designs and Rigid in a close 3rd. Best switch panels are from a company called SwitchWorks and if you don’t like them then SPOD is also a good product although I wouldn’t say they are as good.
