- Hello. I had to run out to the salvage yard to get some parts and figured I'd do a quick tour. Lots of interesting classic cars and trucks and a few that are quite rare!

Sad to look at some of those vehicles considering how much excitement there must have been to get them when they were brand new. Thankfully there are those of you who can bring some of them back to life and restore that excitement! Thanks for sharing Kyle!!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tour of the yard. The Pontiac turned pick-up was interesting.
Thanks for watching!
Love that shirt! 😂
Hi Dear🌹
How are you doing?
Junkyards are like candy stores 🤩.
I always make a day of it!
Yup, so much better than hitting the beach or playing golf haha
That shirt is awesome. It sums up life quite nicely. It's always good to know my opinion doesn't matter, and even better to let others know it as well. Cheers!
Haha thanks. I figured it was very fitting to wear it while I spouted my worthless opinions!
The sad truth is that these old junk yards are disappearing. Who doesn't love a slow walk through history. Everyone of these rusting hulks was once someone's pride and joy. On getaways, when my wife is looking through the shops, I'll try to find a junk yard to fill out my missing parts closet. Thanks for taking us along!:)
thank you for taking time to make the video i love the older farm trucks
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Nice to see you again! Thanks for your RUclips efforts!
Thank you for taking us along. I have missed your videos, But I understand life goes on. Just happy to see another one. I like all the older cars and trucks . Wish I could save a few.Sadly you have to that strange thing called money. : ) Give your Cats a treat for me. If this economy ever gets better I will be happy to become a patron. Liked and shared. All my very best.
i like what you say about the people that bust out windows and tailights
We’re all Junkyard Dawgs on this fine day!
That Studebaker Champion would be a keeper.
Scott needs that Toronado.
I enjoy seeing all the old monarchs
The monarchs would be the ones for me
Cool! Not any yards left with beat old stuff like that here. Too many poor folks that scrap.
Yeah unfortunately it's not worth the hassle to try and sell stuff.
I liked the rusted one with the broken windows
Enjoyed the walk round the wrecking yard with you. Here in the U.K. I used to have a great time climbing over cars in what we call breaker's yards but they have all been sanitised now due to Health and Safety regulations and you cannot generally get in to salvage parts yourself. I look forward to seeing more progress on the truck. Regards from someone whose opinions don't matter.
Thanks George!
There has to be hundreds of salvageable vehicles there! It's really tough to decide which one I would like to restore! Thank you ,Kyle, for giving us the tour!
The Oldsmobile hearse is the ultimate "final project" for anyone! doubles as a final resting place later...LOL
Haha definitely a convenient project if death is near!
I enjoyed all 41 minutes and 35 seconds of your show... keeping in mind that I'm a bit of a captive audience at the moment and somewhat of a simpleton.. I'm quite interested in the numbers matching Model T but unfortunately, I don't know where they are located... Cheers from Iowa... the land of Canada's second-hand smoke.
If it wasn't for captive audiences, I wouldn't have an audience at all! Take it easy buddy!
The Plymouth 2 door definitely interesting. I also liked the Olds hearse not to be confused with the Hurst Olds, most unusual. Cheers! 😎👍🏎🛻
Hi Kyle. That was a bit of an excursion from the normal fare, but still well worth watching, my friend. Being that I live in a two-bit tin-pot nanny-state dictatorship at the bottom of the world and we've had a left-wing / eco-manic government for the best part of 20 years, vehicle scrapping yards with anything older than 20-30 years in them are extremely rare (as it is, I know of two and the closest is 300 miles from me). It's a rare treat to see 40s, 50s and 60s cars and trucks that are not rusted down to the point of no return.
My favourites would be the 50s and 60s Buicks, but there were a couple of Mercurys in there that I've NEVER seen outside books before that I went WOW over, but would never own because they just aren't my thing. I loved wandering through wreckers yards myself, just looking at the condition of the vehicles and wondering what took them off the road or how they got the damage they have. Nowadays there's nothing much to look at and restoring what I would see / find there would be pointless due to their worth when done.
Loved the shout-out to Dean too, mate. Funny - I could see him doing his Greasy Flip thing on several of the vehicles in that lot! One of the Edsels definitely looked to be restorable - maybe with the other for parts, so maybe he'll make an appearance, eh? Anyway, was good to see you out and about again and don't worry about the lapse of time between videos. It's just good to see you working on them when you're able to provide it. You do your thing as you gotta look after YOU first. Nobody else will, eh. Took me many years to realise that.
All the best
Some of those old trucks were in better shape than my 62 C10 Project, haha.
Can never go wrong with a junkyard crawl!
Looked like you could have pieced together a couple different C-10’s, easily.
Always wanted to build one from junk and drive it out of the yard
Yeah that would be fun!
thanks for that it was great wondering around with you, sadly here in oz those yards are truly a thing of the past and even finding one that will let you in to find stuff is even rarer.
i would love all the fifties fords but realised a long time ago that you can't save everything, but nice to dream.
again many thanks......joe
Great yard! You surely need to go back for those 58-ish Mercuries!
What caught my eye was that school bus and the old motorhomes.
Put together, it makes the perfect camping rig.
You win for "Best Tool Renaming"..the adjustable Cresent wrench will now always be known in my garage as "all-sixteenths". Brilliant!
Captivativing video. As a UK resident it's astonishing to me that there's a breakers' yards with vehicles from the 1940s and 50s lying around - unimaginable here. In the UK, breakers would stack vehicles four or five high - I can remember climbing up to the top of a stack to find parts in the 1980s. Not allowed today of course, scrap yards are more formally known as vehicle dismantlers and generally will not allow you to wander around the yard and certainly not remove parts yourself. Space being at a premium, cars only remain in the yard for a relatively short period before being crushed. It would be unusual to see a vehicle from the 1980s in a breakers' yard let alone anything from before.
I am glad that public pressure will have no influence on your future project decisions. I love the smell of old junk car interiors in the morning.
Enjoy the wrecking yard tours.
I love getting to wander through yards that still have all the old cool stuff
3 minutes in and I like the Pontiac/El Camino conversion. I already have enough projects, but that one is interesting. Another junkyard worth checking out is Elfros Auto Wreckers.
I haven’t been there in years. Do they still have a lot of cars?
Yeah I'd like to get out to that one someday
That C10 @4:35 is restorable. They make an aftermarket panel for that roof section and you have the skills! ❤
Nice to see, wrecking yards out here on Vancouver Island that you can walk around in are few and far between now, gone are the days...
The 41 Plymouth (around 18:30 min) would me my first choce because of the lines. But in a restorod way. Keep the Ol' Timer look but with modern touches liek disc brakes etc thaat wouldn't jump to the eye at first sight A/C, overdrive and cruise control, 12V Neg ground and electric wipers. But hey, that's just MY way of thinking of a dream car. Lol
Yeah sounds like a good plan for that car!
That’s a cool junkyard. My local junkyard is full of dodge caravans.
The Edsel 😊
Lot of cars turned to truck down here during WWII, you could get more gas rationing stamps that way.
Well Said Kyle I like the Oldsmobile Hearse Great yard Tour Thanks
Thanks John!
I appreciate the walk thru of the salvage yard. Sadly most of those places around here have already crushed their older cars and trucks. I liked the 67 Mercury 4-door car, I think it was a breeze way car (the rear window rolls down). But I don't have any space for a big car like that. I thought that you had maybe been auditioning for different bands with your triangle. If you end up going on tour, I'll understand your absence. Oh, and happy Canada Day.
Happy CANADA Day Folks🇨🇦
Thanks or taking us along. Glad you found some treasures. Keep at it!
The 47 Plymouth was cool
Yippee! There you are! Thought you'd been beamed into a different dimension...and maybe you have, but it's still refreshing to know you're still a happening dude...
I thought the thunderbird would be fun. but probably to much work though.
Nice tour Kyle. I always liked going though junkyards.
Happy 🇨🇦🇨🇦 CANADA DAY 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks Randy!
AMAZING
that junk yard is bigger then the town
The 59 Edsel would be my choice. We had one when I was in highschool.
Like the old batmobile. Potential there. I was a horn collector once. Meaning I once had an old horn.
New guy to your channel. I live in Hawaii so parts and classics on island (Oahu) are exceptionally hard to find. I love pre-war vehicles and first gen chevy trucks. I'm very blessed to have one of each - 1940 Buick and 1966 Chevy steps side. Love your channel. Keep up the great work. Kevin
Thanks Kevin! It sounds like you've got great taste in old cars and trucks!
Why are those old vans so sad? Seems like they're always crying.
I particularly like the '57 - '59 Mercurys. All those body lines!!
Haha I'd probably be sad too if I was in their condition
Kyle... My out of this world deadly pick would be the karate suit white Elvis Prestley hurst. I think it would make a heavenly Addams Family street rod. Until then it can rest in rusting pieces.
Think the Studebaker was my fave. And then: "Woah, a mid 90s Taurus, I haven't seen one for years!" Sad bastard. The smoke down here smells like maple syrup and Molson Ice, what the hell is going on up there? Cheers, from New Hampshire.
Hi kyle the blue mercury is my pick . Cheers mate🇦🇺
Great. Cars. Thanks
Glad you’re back!🎉
Glad to see you are still kicking. I didn't realize it had been that long because time means nothing to me. I traded my 50 mph golf cart for a 08 Porsche Boxster that slightly kissed the guard rail with all the parts. I'm picking it up by the Windsor bridge next week. Of course I don't need it. I drive about 6 cars and trucks so people think I have a lot of friends.Thank you for your time.
It's good to have a different vehicle for each day of the week, bonus if they all run!
@@CarterAutoRestyling Yep, we could hang out. Where I live in Indiana you also have to have at least one on blocks to retain you redneck status. I have achieved the "crazy old hippie redneck" status. What neighbors I have put up with me because I'm also the "cool old guy that fixes stuff".
‘58 Edsel 4 door hard top!
I liked the car with the grizzly asleep in it.
There was a cool panel van think a small window on the side ,very cool
Thanks for the tour Kyle--someday yards like these will be a thing of the past...
THANKS for the tour!!!
I miss going thru a now closed wrecking yard which had the same sort of selection of parts/potential projects.
They were open 7 days a week!!!
HAPPY CANADA DAY 🇨🇦
Any of the edsels for me... although i would take anything if pushed 😂
Thanks for showing this I love a good junkyard
Thanks for sharing I Love the The 41 Plymouth
Neat old yard, places like that are hard to find these days. I didn't see a lot that would light my fire, but it's still fun to browse around; there was a 1953? Ford two door that looked promising.. There seems to be a high percentage of four door cars in your area. I think there were more late 1950s Mercuries than I've ever seen in one location before. The 1962 Pontiac/pickup conversion was kind of neat.
Yeah it looks like they probably bought up someones Mercury collection
They all look like my worst restoration nightmares! Interesting look around. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks for the update
Thanks for tuning in!
The '65 and '66 Corvair are surprising to see in a wrecking yard. I could use a few items for mine, but those two are a looong way away from Vancouver Island. Nice to see the Canadian Monarchs, although nobody seems to want many parts from them. Probably the only remaining ones are in those wrecking yards... Lots of neat old trucks. Funny how some of those cars seem surprisingly solid, while others are dissolving away...
Love seeing old yards like this, they are disappearing so fast! To answer your question, I would want to save either the 60 Pontiac or the 60 Chevy.
Good choices!
Some sweet old iron there
That 40/41 chev 2 dr looked pretty straight body wise at least. That was my favorite.
1941
Plymouth 2 door sedan!
The 41 Plymouth!
Amigos is huge. Last I checked they had over 4000 cars but it’s been awhile so I’m sure there’s more now.
Yup, although not as many old ones as there used to be. Late model stuff is understandably more profitable
Hey Kyle...what’s happened to the channel...you give up on your dream of being a You tube millionaire sensation. Miss you and your dark ,self deprecating humour. Also , honestly love your skills. Get to it man!
I was hoping you got the 1926 truck conversion.😂
Me too
Enjoyed the tour happy you found some usable parts thanks 😊
Loved the tour, I’m a sucker for the pre-war stuff. You’re right, it’s sad to see it go away, I wish I had the room and the money to scoop all of them, lol. Thanks for taking us along, appreciate all of it Kyle 👍
You just keep on doing what you need to do. Somehow I've missed this video until today, but I do check in to see if you have new stuff fairly often. I enjoy the great work you do and the super dry humor while you do it. Thanks.
Thank you Paul!
Wise words about how to choose a project! And, even when you've got all the bits, it still takes forever 😁
Thanks for the update , hope things workout for you , 👍👍 , I’ll be waiting for the next video
Hey Kyle. Started watching your channel about 4 months ago and I really appreciate the information you provide
and your sense of humour. I've watched all your videos and I'm hoping for more. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dan!
Me and my dad might go their to pick up parts for our 63 gmc but it's a 2 hour drive
That blue 77 crew cab Chevelle, in the background of the model T. 👍
Haha
That hearse at 25:28 looet like a hoot
Love this trip back in. time for me. Great seeing stuff still saved and not crushed like they have done here in Kentucky. Do not need any projects BUT just as it is would love to have the Model T as great yard art
My car to fix up would be a 64 Chevrolet bel Air. Nice looking car
You be you man. I’ll see ya when I see ya.
Thanks for the videos!
That mercury convertible is super cool
Build a catnip powered scale model of that jacked up truck with a modern(ish) dash for your fuzzy assistants
I've always been partial to the '67 - '72 GMC trucks. Although I like all the ones earlier than that too. Love the late '60/early '70 GM muscle cars too as they were from my era. A '69 Beaumont would suit me just fine.
All they need is Bondo!
Awesome video ! Thanks from dean
Hey Dean! Thanks for watching!
Salvage/breakers yards have pretty much disappeared where I live: at least the ones where you can wander around with some tools and remove parts yourself. Thinking back to taking doors off cars stacked three high and rocking backwards and forwards as you climbed on them, I can kind of understand it. Doesn't stop me feeling nostalgia for the days when it was the only way to keep your vehicle on the road, though.
Hi Kyle, thanks for the tour. I kinda liked that Ford w/flat head V8 even though I'm a Chevy guy . No bad snakes? I'll be right up.😅
Thanks for the tour, Kyle. Long live rust!
