I know I literally just made a video about this, but this method is so much more intuitive and visually appealing that I couldn't not talk about it. As always, thanks for watching.
OLD VIDEO: ruclips.net/video/K8AhSSPItiU/видео.html
It covers the alternative method useful for short pieces of cover, so definitely go check that one out.
found this channel through the acu movement guide, now you're telling me new things about a game I've completed 8 times. explanations are simple and precise, no beating around the bush, useful information conveyed in a pretty much perfect manner.
if this isn't a well earned sub, Idk what is, thank you and keep up the great work, mate!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
you just taught me something abt my favorite game, i kinda already knew it but never thought of things like using gun & then doing it because of the ssi
Glad I was able to give you something new to work with!
I always do the wall hugging thing for tailing missions. nice to see it has some practical uses.
Definitely. This was actually a big pain point for me in these games, so to have found a decent solution for it was quite exhilarating.
I love the fact that by combining different techniques you can do a really smooth cover kill, even though a cover system doesn't really exist. Very useful!
I originally discovered this by accident, it was a very good moment lol
Damn thats cool, AC3 cover pre-alpha concept
This is beautiful.
Remember me when you get famous lmao. This content is great and thanks for giving me another reason to replay the ezio trilogy
Haha, thanks! I’m glad my videos were able to help!
It's beautiful. Keep it up!
Thanks! I’ve got a Brotherhood stealth video coming out pretty soon, so keep an eye out for that!
Wish I had seen this before I did my recent playthrough of the Ezio trilogy, I'm tired of burning smoke bombs lol
I relate very strongly. I’m quite glad that a way around the lack of a cover system exists.
I always used to do this with the help of smoke bombs, this is so much better tho and it looks stylish af
Definitely! I’m really glad I don’t have to burn those to do cover takedowns anymore.
Now that looks like a legit cover! Also, saying that Unity’s parkour ‘looks better’ is one thing, but that it’s actually polished, more so than AC2? Just, no
I agree on both counts.
Unity fanboy here weeping in his gamer chair, nodding in agreement
Compared to arno, ezio is slow as fuck
So, this work from Assassin's Creed 1 to Revelations as there's a proper cover kill in Assassin's Creed 3
It doesn’t work consistently in AC1, archers will block assassination attempts if you try it on them. It may require a slightly different method. But yes, this becomes obsolete in AC3.
Man I should start using hidden gun more.
Indeed you should.
It's pretty op because all you need to do to liberate Borgia towers is sprint to high ground and shoot the captain (although lock-on can be unwieldy at times)
I wonder if that was always their intention with that wall hug or its just a happy accident
I honestly have no idea. With bootleg crouch, it’s pretty obvious that that mechanic was being given a second purpose. With this? I genuinely don’t know.
Very similar to the colonial AC's corner cover. Can this be done in AC1?
AC3’s contextual cover system is a lot more intuitive and easy to use than this, for sure, but it’s nice to have found out that I don’t have to burn a smoke bomb to do a corner takedown.
And yea, it should work just fine in AC1, I just labelled it as an Ezio trilogy thing because you can’t really use SSI lures in AC1 as that’s not how detection works in that game.
Jcers how does detection work in AC1? is it not based on individual soldiers or smth?
Nicole Song it’s still based on individual soldiers, but you can’t really lure people over to you. Rooftop archers just stand in one spot when they see you and you have a certain amount of time to break LoS before they start shooting. People on the ground usually just instantly detect you if you’re somewhere you’re not supposed to be.
I’ve done some testing on this, and here are my findings. This doesn’t really work in Low Profile in AC1, because people will block your assassination attempts due to the decreased speed of exit and movement into assassination range. I have done it in High Profile a few times, but it’s much less consistent than in the Ezio games.
