Just picked up a Rustler 4x4 BL 2S at my LHS. I git the deal where they give you the portable charger and the 2s battery included. I prefer 100% to buy form my LHS because he always has what I need (99% of the time) and his prices are the same as online. But I don't have to worry about packages being stolen, lost or damaged. My LHS is great. And I prefer Traxxas and Arrma because I can find the parts very easily at my LHS. Plus Traxxas doesn't discontinue products too often. Maybe except for the Hoss, but it got replaced by the Stampede 4x4 V2 VXL, which I also picked up from my LHS 👍

What I found that is super cool with my hobby shop near by is; if I plan on getting a little bit of an off the wall RC and I communicate with and order the item through the hobby shop, he goes in an orders a BOAT load of parts to have on hand and all he asks in return is that I bring my business there. I don’t even bother ordering online anymore with how out of the way this spot goes! Best part is, my dad used to take me to this exact same spot when I was kid and now I get to take my kids there too! I’ve learned that the hobby is 30% driving the rc and 70% building life long memories. I’ll die before I let my local Hobbystore’s close doors! Long live LHS!!!!!!!!!

LHS #3 would have unfortunately left you disappointed. 9051 (front axle) is different from the standard axles at the stub axles which requires a different bearing size which is also different with the extreme hd parts versus the standard.
I have worked at a small hobby shop for a couple years and you are absolutely right it’s about the relationship we develop with the customers. We can tell the people that are listening to Internet forums because they want to spend their money on metal upgrades and buy the cheapest servos possible. Where most experienced drivers would much rather spend money for a great servo.

Also I’d be really interested to see you go over the new 2s system vs the the vxl-3s, I’m wondering how the motor compares especially. I do try to support my local hobby shop. Around here in NC I have a number of hobby shops around me, one only 5 minutes away, one 20 minutes and another 45 minutes. I've noticed hobby shops sell other services, like one sells lawnmowers and repairs them and another is a hobby shop/small arcade inside a mall. So they are finding ways to stay afloat but it sucks that's what it has to come down too. :/ Its all about promotion too, I've told people about local shops and they had no idea there was even a shop there.

Unless my knowledge base is lacking, they don’t have a steel driveshaft upgrade replacement for 9051/9052 driveshafts, they have replacements w/ 5mm axle shaft, but I haven’t seen them for 6mm yet. So it would either require special bearings or switching back to the std duty 6832/6837/6852 caster block/knuckle/carrier. I absolutely agree that we need to support our local shops... (Excluding the fact hobby town doesn't/didn't carry team associated, which is one of my top favs) But the closest one to me is an hour away... Sooo add 20bucks for gas to that part now, or get it delivered from THEIR website .
And I will NEVER support traxxas ! So I couldn't care less if they have traxxas parts in stock, and traxxas have eh descent cars but are way over priced and have horrible business practices. Nope!
    SMH, lol , 😂

Sellout for buying a Monster Truck? Huh? I certainly don't like RC Monster Trucks, let alone real ones, but if Kevin wants to spend his money that way, that's his prerogative! Yes, we only have one real shop in the whole state lol Anchorage House of Hobbies. They move lots of merchandise, but they are constantly going through workers and nobody knows anything. I was loyal to them for years and spent thousands there. I would hang out for hours BS'n and talking RC with anyone who would listen. I used to have a small business so I'm all about the little guy. But they went downhill big time once The Mexican Beer Flu hit. Poor service, sometimes no service. Wrong parts sold unless you come in w/ the exact part number. Guys having the connectors fall off after they put them on new batts. Never having the common stuff in stock, but saying you can order it for me. What good is that? Now I have to wait 2-3 weeks because its coming in w/ you next bulk order? I could of ordered it cheaper, and had it in 4-5 days. I have done PLENTY for that small business (actually a big volume mover for HH and Traxass) Most of my business is from Tower Hobby or Jenny's RC these days. I'm actually doing prototype testing of some new to market merchandise not just a copy paste like every other company in our little realm. I'm working on the patent's first as we both know a certain brand loves to take over idea's and file like they created it (cantilever shock system) etc Just protecting my intelectual property. Send Cut Send and my CR-Scan Ferret are my BFF's (Thanks Josh lol)
