Don't see the point of buying this one when you can get the vxl straight away with the 272R transmission, because the transmission will break if you upgrade this car... and tqi with gyro..
I love the simple 2 wheel drive rustlers some of the most fun you can have with an RC in my opinion
Rustler was my first hobby grade RC rig. Always have a special place in my heart for Any version of the Rusty. Keep these vids coming!

I checked, the wheel speed should be the same between the vxl and bl 2s with 2s batteries. Less that 10 rpm difference. The stampede caps out at 40mph because the 76/25 would overload it. Rustler to hit the claimed 45 on the box would probably need 76/26 or higher. Strangely, there’s no recommendation on speed gearing.

Has Traxxas EVER told the full, not misleading truth on the box about the top speed of an RC car?
I like when the speed they quote requires a pinion size that they don’t even make or won’t even fit! 😅🤣 I like traxxas’ bigger trucks and their crawlers but these cheaper trucks are just made to fool the entry level people with high speed quotes and outdated parts with 1 small tweak to make it “new!”
Because 70mph+ simply isn’t enough power for you to jump a toy car off a box in your back yard. Get real.

Now Traxxas needs to upgrade the servo and the shocks straight out the box. Then they really will be the only car you need to own and not need to constantly upgrade parts.

It’s funny how Traxxas has mastered the Apple effect. They make slight changes to their cars then make it seem like you’re missing out if you don’t buy the new car. It’s the same thing apple does with the iPhone but you can’t be mad at them for making the plates when peple keep eating up the bs.

Picked up a rustler vxl 2wd from a pawn shop not long ago... That is a tuff one to hold on to... haven't been able to get full trigger with out spinning out , but damn it is fun...

Love the content and all but man I’m sick of traxxas saying “new release” when it’s the same platform they’ve worked with for years. They needa call all this “new” stuff revamped in reality

Why dont Traxxas do somthing like put a Maxx slash chassis on a Maxx with a new body and wide offset wheels, like a traxxas sledge only better instead of a boring old rustler with a different motor

I'm disappointed in the rear drive shafts. They do look slightly better than before, but I wish they were the same style as the 4wd shafts. Maybe being 2s it's just not necessary.
And I’m definitely a traxxas fan boy too lol I had a bunch about a year ago and they were all stolen out of my house I’ve since moved from there I live in ocean city Maryland now and there’s no hobby shops here like where I lived in West Virginia but yea all my cars and trucks drones were stolen so I’m trying to save now to build again anyway keep it bro your awesome
The Traxxas b mod won't flip it up. Modifieds died for a reason and we already have a mudboss class. This wont take off like ypu think

My first hobby grade RC car that I purchased with my own money was a rustler brushed. I had the special Courtney force, pink and blue body. recently last year, I traded it to a friend and they built it for their kids and it’s still going strong

From the testing I have done between the xl-5 and bl2-s the new brushless version is only like three mph faster i did it with two different two wheel drive slash both with the lcq chassis set up the same

The only car you need? Maybe if your a child and it’s your first RC car. It’s 2 wheel drive, 2S and has a 1990’s antenna. More like the only car you need to stay away from.
Hope they upgrade the Bandit next, to BL-2S and hex hardware!

At this rate, they need to upgrade the summit and re-release it! I mean, if they are going to keep coming up with improved versions of existing cars instead of continuing to innovate and make new models...
So you want a new model that’s going to get updated again in 2 years and then you can’t find any parts for it at that point? I don’t, I could care less about “new” models, they do plenty of incremental updates, the bl2s means the tired xl5/12t will likely be discontinue at some point too, which looks like a much better system.

I love the Rustler, it's actually my characters name in every game I play, haha. Wish that clipless system was on my 4x4 VXL, hate the one on mine, pain in the butt. My first Rustler was the 2wd nitro, still have it after 20+ years. Enjoy the trip, nasty weather hitting us here in TX.

The updated caster blocks are the greatest thing to ever happen to the 2wd platforms. Can’t tell you how many of them I break racing on carpet

The BL2s system is slept on. I had one laying around from taking it off my fiesta st brushless and threw it on an old bandit. And it’s FAST. Such a great system.

For a 2s system that speed is good which ones go a lot faster on a 2s system? Arrma for sure isn't soem chinese one perhaps but some of those are hard/impossible to control at high speeds soem jsut lying about being 2s i saw those 2s batteries they came with and they had 3 cells so yeah on a 3cell """"2s""""" easy to go way over 40 mph....
And I bet it won't even do it without upgrades. None of their other cars will hit their estimates without swapping pinions plus usually

I like the mounting I have the 4wheel drive VXL Rustler & it has the old system with the clip lock on top that locks it into place. I just got it back up after shearing the lower front lower arm mounting bolt after seeing them I can see why they are very thin.

I just got done upgrading both of my xl5 2wd slashes to the bl2s systems and what an awesome upgrade!
But….the brushless 2s systems… are like the exact same speed as brushed. A true brushless ESC has WAY more power on 2s.

Is that why it’s so much faster? Might be geared higher from the factory but I remember him looking at the bl2s 4x4 rustler and it was about the same speed as the old XL5 systems
