Great video! I can just get my '24 ruckus up to 68km/hr. That's 42mph which allows me to pretty much go anywhere in the city. I would consider down the road a more street style tire, inflated a little more, and a Kijima windscreen. Not sure about playing with the internals just yet. But i currently have no regrets about getting the Ruckus. I find im constantly making excuses to ride it everywhere.
I purchased a ruckus 3 weeks ago, I loved it aso much at mile 80 on the bike I knew I was a motorcycle guy, taking my motorcycle class this coming Tuesday and Wednesday to get my endorsement and next Thursday I have a rebel 1100 DCT arriving! Great video! Thanks!
That's my plan! Been riding a Ruckus the last 3 months to decide if I liked being on 2 wheels in the summer. Now looking at the Rebel 500 and getting my bike license.
I have a Honda CBR500R, Kawasaki Z125 Pro, and a Chinese Znen 150cc scooter, BUT...I am still craving for a Honda Ruckus, so I placed an order today for the 2023 White/Blue Honda Ruckus (will come in a week). I am EXCITED. Thanks for this video, Buddy. - Vulkee.
Fyi for anyone leaving in CA no you don’t need your M1 or M2 license if your scooter is less than 125cc as long as you have your class c license I’m in south ca. it is a good idea to get it though if you wanna get something bigger later on. I just came across your video and thought I chime in I looked all around for info on this and that’s what kept popping up.
Hi again Mr. Gizzabe. Since I last communicated with you - I am now full stage 2 with the EVI with the performance ignition, a blackout windshield, Polini variator, Kevlar belt, KGN IR spark plug, my exhaust is a Yoshimura stainless, intake open with a filter, performance carb main jetted at 110 & Kimimoto bags plus a solid rear carrier & I installed upgraded from headlight bulbs, installed a Pair valve blocking plate & side pegs. Dr. Pulley clutch is the next purchase to be eventually completed with street tires. Talking performance, I weigh 210, with my anti-theft cable & uncutable lock, my barrel bag has small wrenches, pliers, phillips screwdriver & backup sunglasses my above curb weight is around 225lbs. I now cruise at 44/46mph normally with a top speed of 53 sea level flat road not wind aided. I'm running sliders at 5.75gram average (3x6 plus 3x 5.5). However here is flat, no hills or I would have all 5.5gram sliders. Supposedly will receive a 2 to 3mph gain from the Dr. Pulley clutch & another 1mph with street tires. Will have to retune the variator once the clutch is installed. The reason for the new clutch is the stock Ruckus clutch starts slapping the drive belt at 50mph. The clutch Contra spring stock is too weak. I continue to use the Ruck as my Go To around town errand bike. Will put a 7 gallon black with yellow top HDX plastic box on back plus have a waterproof Duffel bag which I will put on the floorboard. I use the Ruck grocery shopping. Harley is now only used for freeway riding & at my age of almost 70, infrequently. The Ruck is pure fun & I have owned a Harley for 52 years. I zoom it all around town with abandon generally shocking people. Park almost anywhere & lock it up to signs in front of stores constantly. My gas mileage did drop down to the low 90's from 106mpg but that is still extremely high. I run only non-ethanol gas & add 1 tablespoon of octane booster per gallon fill. Love the Ruckus, it is the adult version of the minibike I had at age 12, nothing but fun. Had to laugh at you talking about the weather hot & cold. I'm an old real biker, weather is weather & used to it.
Holy smokes man! That’s alot of change to your Ruck! Glad you enjoy it and are able to pick up that much speed! I wish I could see it! I appreciate this and look forward to keep riding and getting more experience with my Kawi !
@@gizzabem The Ruck is perfect for me as an around local area connected towns mainly errands bike or visiting a friend 18 miles 1 way down a country road with a 55mph speed limit. My in town cruising is generally less than 40mph but now I can put the Ruck on State highways cruising at 45mph no problem. This means I no longer need to use alternate roads. I always upgraded my Harley's so adding performance mods is no big deal & far cheaper than the Harley. When I moved here in central Louisiana back in the early mid-70's, there were I believe 7 or 8 Harleys with 5 of them forming a little Club (I was a 1% decades ago when I was young). Now there are maybe a dozen of us riding Scooters here but I usually see a new 1 or 3 popping up monthly. Something funny - I rode the Ruckus to the Harley Davidson dealer on a Saturday during a "Special Event". It was hilarious, guys looking like I was crazy. I'm also a CCP instructor (former sniper) & my ankle holster was evident, large bowie knife on hip & a dagger hanging on a leather string from my neck. The 1% & 3% club riders all know me for decades & shake hands/1 arm hug but the Posers/Pretenders/Weekenders/Socials all who wear HD everything including chaps in the summer were astounded but were careful as I look like a career oil driller & real biker. 1 actually asked my why I rode a Honda Scooter to a HD Dealer, told him because I can & needed to pick up a part for my Ultra Classic. Too funny the supposed "Badazz" Posers. Love the Ruck & I'm an old hardcore.
Gizzabe, I recently subscribed and I love your videos. I deliver DD on a Vespa 300. Please stop calling your Ruckus a moped. It's a scooter. A moped has pedals and a motor like a bicycle. Again man, I do enjoy your videos.
funny, I live in BC, all you need is a regular drivers license. although it may be a 49cc, I may not of needed a license. driving a scooter is the best way to slowly upgrade to a Motorcycle license. I hate shifting gears, it is a lot of work, motorbikes are slowly becoming automatics now. I have been searching for a great phone mount, which one are you using? I love my ruckus, I have a car that I neve drive now. Although it's summer, only time I drive the car, is to get it washed from bird poop
Did you ever consider purchasing a super. 73 bike? I’m up against the fence on which to purchase. My daily commute is roughly 6 miles one way and. 6 back.
No, I think having a gas motor than electric is better in my opinion. Plus you have to wait to charge your bike if you forget or go somewhere unplanned. Also the Ruckus’s top speed is 40 mph if not modded. It really comes down to what you’re looking to use your bike for.
Iam getting the ruck for daily in Pittsburgh through this winter, as long as ground is dry ill be on the ruck even minus 0degree if it starts up, also wonder how you rear fender delete is going, doesn't seem like a good idea?? Just wondering
I got the chase harper under seat bag to, I cut the velcro strips on side so they aren't as long ,looks much better, urs are covering ur reflective strips, like see you cut those to fit ,
Very helpful video. For someone with a motorcycle license would it be better to get a bigger scooter? Maybe a yamaha zuma 125cc or the new Honda ADV 160cc ? They have more top speed and still get very high gas mileage? Modifications would not be needed, just basic maintenance requirements?
@dudeinshorefishing6829 has it been reliable, and have you had to do any major work. I've been looking for a bigger reliable bike now that I got my endorsement
I pull to the right a lot and let them pass or take surface streets. I've owned mine since 2005, bought it new for$1,299 on sale because nobody wanted them back then, I still love it. I have a few bikes that are bigger and faster but the ruckus is just fun! I got a Honda monkey two years ago and it feels like a speed demon compared to the ruckus.🤣
I just took my course and passed. I'm preparing to take the exam at the DMV, how many tests do they give you at the DMV for the written exam? I tried to set it up online and it said there will be a knowledge test. Is that part of the written exam that you took at the DMV? Thanks for the post and advice. Wishing you all the best!

Yeah but i think it depends on the state you’re in. Your best best bet is to get a M1 manual and read it and take your written test. That way you have a permit good for 1 year

you still need a permit and you're not allowed to ride at night.
