Accessorize but keep the mechanics stock, I’ve had mine for 3 years and the more I ride it the more I appreciate what Honda did with the Ruckus. Good video.
Stage 1 kit with 5 gram sliders performance drive face, upgraded spring, dr pulley variator and cdi box is absolutely the perfect balance of performance and reliability!!
I have the exact same bike and I’m looking at The Ruck Shop’s Stage 1 Kit. They also have a Stage 2 Kit for SERIOUS modifications. And it sounds like you went straight to the Stage 2 Kit because you mentioned changing jets in your carburetor. There is another guy on a modified Ruckus w/a channel called Small Engine Velocity. Anyone needing help tuning their Ruckus should definitely check him out!
Wise words about reliability. Honda knows what they are doing. When modding it's worth keeping in mind the high level engineering and hours of R&D that a company like Honda puts into it's products. The aftermarket manufacturers and the companies who sell their products aren't interested in reliability, they are interested in your wallet. Anyone pushing a velocity stack does not care about reliability, running an internal combustion engine without an air filter is a sure way to kill it. I've also seen firsthand aftermarket variators and clutch's fail on the road, destroying belts and leave people stranded. Honda's have the reputation they do for a reason. And yes... That pipe was just too damn loud 😂
I have a 2019 ruckus with about 3200 miles on it. So far I’ve done an exhaust, intake, carb jet, and a smooth drive face instead of the one with the fins, I get about 43 mph with it and still about 100 mpg. No engine issues, regular maintenance
I have that problem on my ebike..I come to a stop sign or intersection and people are to cautious lmao..Noone wants to go ,they just look at me wether they were there first or not, it's like at stop sign people don't know what to do when they see you on a bike of any kind! It's frustrating because then they will wait so long you decide to go then that's when they want go to
Good for you man! You’ll be golden once you just do the variator and sliders. I’d try 5 gram or a mix of 5/5.5 as well. Truly a ruckus is better with a stock intake/exhaust. As we talked about in other videos. You can get gains if the setup is perfect but it’s loud as fuck and just lowers the mileage. Can definitely do 45 on flats with the stock set up + a few basic mods. Again good for you going back to stock
Today I put on some new handle bar grips and mirrors. I just received the Forsa rear shock in the mail and I’m still waiting on front fork upgrade to arrive. My next purchase will be a tachometer similar to yours.
i have maybe 100 yards of any flat in baltimore. Stock, with just a 120 rather than a 130 in the rear, street tires, was all the acceleration gain i need. still easily to 45mph
I did the Polini variator and 5.5 rollers you say you want to try, I have the same bike, night and day difference and revs oh so happy, Im actually waiting for the ECU device you have to arrive in the mail so now Im interested in how much more gains i can get out of the little bike.
I left the engine alone, but went with the Ruck Shops Stage 1 variator. Stage 2 simply isn't worth it. I do recommend using ethanol free gas as it is carbureted.
I'm new with my ruckus. Just ordered the intake kit. I'm heavy and I need more than 34 mph to meet minimum speed requirements for the local roads. With a larger jet the only time it should consume more fuel is when the throttle is opened up more. I really like it stock but I did the variator and cdi however there really is no noticeable difference of any significance. Certainly not worth the 200 bucks on these two items. However the ruck shop claims if I put the lighter weights in it will Rev higher and I'll make 50 mph. So far I doubt it but we shall see soon.
@Winterstick549 hi, it's been several months since this post. If I recall, they are 4.5 or 4. It improved the performance of acceleration nicely. But so far, nothing has made it faster . Honda has an rpm limiter that needs to be overridden from what I see.
I have nearly every performance bolt on part for my GET engine Ruckus. Stock I got between 90 - 100 MPG. With mods I get 80 - 85 MPG. I’m running 38/80 fuel jets. I could probably use a 78 MJ and get another 5 mpg. The performance has increased substantially.
Oh man! Can you imagine? A big group of Ruckus Riders pulling through town? Better lock up your daughters, lock up your wife! and get ready for a fight! Lol Just got the Mrs a 2022 Ruckus and I have a CRF300L. Went for our first ride on the trails and she absolutely loved it! Made my own rear rack and collapsable tote and will do a centre compartment between the feet, adding some footpegs as well. Like the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, dont fix it! That’s why the Ruckus is virtually the same over the years. What windshield are you using? I would like to get one for the Ruk. Thanks for the great videos. 🍺🇨🇦
Would you mind sharing your experience driving in Southern California? With so much road rage & impatience on those streets, I wonder if people are rude to you for slowing down traffic. Take care & God bless
Honestly out of the 6 months riding, I’ve only had at most 3 experiences with people either trying to pass me up on my lane, and 1 time some crackhead trying to tailgate me. Other than that i always see my surroundings and determine to move aside as a courtesy
Aloha, just getting around to installing the windshield and noticed your handlebar attachments are different, can you tell me which ones you purchased (link) ? Thank you
I got the 7BlackSmith Universal Windshield...I need to clamps that fit the Ruckus (link,) were they 7/8" or 1" and what brand were they? The clamps that came with the windshield does not fit -
What did you pay for the Ruckus? I’m in the market and the dealers are up charging them quite a bit. Also Door Dash will not let me use it in my area but Uber Eats will.
Actually quick question, that windshield You have. do you mind replying with a link on where i can purchase one i think it’s a great idea. And also i would like your opinion on if it really helps either with helping rain not get as much on you while riding, helping take a decent amount of wind out of your face. Or are the benefits minimal at best? Thank you!
I believe I have the link somewhere on my other videos but I’ll update this video description with the link! I live in southern California so rain isn’t much an issue but when it does I don’t ride. As far as wind goes, you can tell the difference from it not hitting your chest
I rode my friend’s ruckus and he had no windshield and felt a lot of force hitting my chest. I also heard it’s more aerodynamic. It definitely helps with the cold and when it’s windy the force of wind can move your bike while riding but not that bad
My kymco is all factory stock it runs 30 mph with me and that’s enough for me cause at my age I don’t need anything faster than that ,now if I was 40 years younger then it would be a whole different story

If you want to mod just engine swap. Not worth getting tiny amounts of power more out of the 50cc for the cost of reliability.

2023 brand new 100 miles
I do want to get slightly better shocks.
