The rev limiter is on there for a purpose.....so the motor does not over rev and blow up.💣

The loud muffler is no good......ruckus motor needs back pressure to run right.

got my ruckus 5 days ago. new 2024. my topspeed is 43 on flat ground. ive watched a few vids and dont think ill be doing any speed upgrades. im 180lbs

I think people should focus on modding the look and not the motor, Honda has made it that way for a reason.

The loud exhaust is a safety feature. It lets motorists know you’re there.

a quarter turn on the airmix-screw will fix the stop-off-issue usually, with all these 50cc-carbed-engines, no big deal. Also, if you ever run into a cold-start too much fuel engine-stop (wet sparkplugg), detache the electric autochoke-cabel, (turns the autochoke off permanently) works wonderful for fixing this issue, no need for a choke down to 0 Celsius anyway.

Best modification I did to mine was upgraded the front and rear suspension, igot ncy front performance shocks paired with forsa rear and it makes a huge difference in ride quality and performance, I swear the bike acceleration is better now with the suspension upgraded, only slightly, but noticeable, just feels much better now, next iam thinking getting the polinni variator upgrade to try help with hills

Over inflate air in tires. Get better spark plug and good gas. Most gas is garbage. Try it.

mine is stock i weigh 155 pounds mine will run flat out 48 miles an hour i use synthetic oil in motor and gear case

Wise words about reliability. Honda knows what they are doing. When modding it's worth keeping in mind the high level engineering and hours of R&D that a company like Honda puts into it's products. The aftermarket manufacturers and the companies who sell their products aren't interested in reliability, they are interested in your wallet. Anyone pushing a velocity stack does not care about reliability, running an internal combustion engine without an air filter is a sure way to kill it. I've also seen firsthand aftermarket variators and clutch's fail on the road, destroying belts and leave people stranded. Honda's have the reputation they do for a reason. And yes... That pipe was just too damn loud 😂

i have maybe 100 yards of any flat in baltimore. Stock, with just a 120 rather than a 130 in the rear, street tires, was all the acceleration gain i need. still easily to 45mph

I had a Ruckus and my wife had a Metro. These we're about 2007 models. My Ruck averaged about 94 mpg, while the Metro got 115.

Iam getting the ruck for daily in Pittsburgh through this winter, as long as ground is dry ill be on the ruck even minus 0degree if it starts up, also wonder how you rear fender delete is going, doesn't seem like a good idea?? Just wondering

I pull to the right a lot and let them pass or take surface streets. I've owned mine since 2005, bought it new for$1,299 on sale because nobody wanted them back then, I still love it. I have a few bikes that are bigger and faster but the ruckus is just fun! I got a Honda monkey two years ago and it feels like a speed demon compared to the ruckus.🤣

I considered the Ruckus. It reminds me of a mini bike I had back in the '70s. But it was just too slow, and it was not rated by Honda to haul my 240 pounds. I wound up getting a Lance Cali Classic 125 for just under $3000 cash OTD. It's a cool looking scooter, has a ton of storage under the seat, goes 15 mph faster than the Ruckus, and can carry 300 pounds. They are NOT Chinese, they are made by SYM in Taiwan, and are very high quality.

Great video! I can just get my '24 ruckus up to 68km/hr. That's 42mph which allows me to pretty much go anywhere in the city. I would consider down the road a more street style tire, inflated a little more, and a Kijima windscreen. Not sure about playing with the internals just yet. But i currently have no regrets about getting the Ruckus. I find im constantly making excuses to ride it everywhere.

In 2010 I bought a brand new Zx10r special edition. Still have it and it only has 11,000 miles. I just take it out on nice days to maybe get lunch or ice cream 🍦 Would be nice to group ride but I know some people get stupid with going fast or wheelies and that attacks law enforcement

Very helpful video. For someone with a motorcycle license would it be better to get a bigger scooter? Maybe a yamaha zuma 125cc or the new Honda ADV 160cc ? They have more top speed and still get very high gas mileage? Modifications would not be needed, just basic maintenance requirements?
