- Here is a quick overview of my 2022 Honda Ruckus. I know there’s more I can go over and talk about, but uploading this on my break time had me rush a bit.
Here’s a list of my products I have on my Ruckus so far:
Under seat bag - Chase Harper USA 5000 Honda... www.amazon.com...
Cup holder - kemimoto Motorcycle Cup Holder,... www.amazon.com...
Front bag - Chase Harper USA Ruckus Barrel... www.amazon.com...
Windshield- 7BLACKSMITHS Universal Motorcycle... www.amazon.com...
Carbon fiber vinyl wrap - HTVRONT Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl... www.amazon.com...
I have same 2022 gray one. Good idea on the vinyl to not scratch the paint. Not a fan of the windshield though, looks like it limits what you can attach to handlebars . I have a rack and food bag for eats/doordash.
Also planning a long distance 800 mile trip from LA to Santa Cruz
Cool maybe you could do a video we”d all love to see that one👍
Bro what is the mileage per litre , how many km
Well brother I really dig your modifications that windshield would be ideal for me as I plan on riding my 2017 Honda ruckus back-and-forth to work (3rd. shift)12 miles each way to work 2-3 times a week to save$$$ on gas. These bikes are not very comfortable to ride long distances for big riders like myself,,,I’m 5”10 and 314 pounds so I’m going to have to get the NCY (I believe they’re called)aluminum seat brackets that move the seat back however they also move the seat up so I’ll have to buy one of their seat lowering frames also to make it turn out right I guess and then I’ll probably get an inflatable seat cushion from steady garage and quite possibly a rear metal rack from steady garage also.I’ve been looking at Chase Harper stuff also I like the bags that you have there and I’m also interested in their saddlebags they offer for the ruckus👍
I bought a brand new 2020 Ruckus last March for 3100 bucks cash out the door. I've already put 4600 miles on it without a single problem. I change my oil earlier than is required. Usually between 500-700 miles. I also change my rear final drive gear oil every 1000-1500 miles. I added the rear rack from CycleRacks along with a 38 dollar craftsman versastack 17" lockable toolbox from lowes because my helmet fits inside. I also have the same chase harper under seat bag and I added a metal wire basket to the front from bed bath and beyond. After a put 4000 miles on it I changed the drive belt even though it still had plenty of life left and would have likely lasted another 3000+ miles. At the same time I bought several Dr Pulley roller weights for the variator and eventually settled on the 6 gram rollers because they made the bike faster starting off and I was still able to get up to 42 or 43 mph on the flat roads. Pretty soon I'm going to try the Dr. Pulley sliders and from what I've heard you generally want to use 1 gram heavier than your choice of rollers so I ordered the 7 gram sliders and a 6.5 gram just in case they seemed better.
I was talking about this about 20 mins ago on my camera for a next video lol I have to look into the final drive gear oil part though! These things are built to last if you take care of them. Do you do long distance travels or a commuter?
@@gizzabem I do both. My daily ride is 12 miles which I sometimes do more than once per day and on the weekends from April to the end of November I ride 52 miles each day. I live in Connecticut where registration and insurance isn't needed for 49cc mopeds. I still rode during the cold winter as long as there wasn't ice or snow on the roads. When it's under 60 degrees I have to wear my fleece lined pants and when it's under 40 degrees I have to add a pair of insulated overalls on top of that. The main areas that get cold are my neck, hands and feet so I wear insulated gloves, boots and a neck gator. I also wear a rain jacket as an exterior layer because it blocks the wind the best. That rear gear oil is easy to change. You just have to remove one bolt and then use a syringe and small diameter tube to suck out the gear oil and then use it to pump in the new gear oil. Having the shop service manual helps because it lists the torque specs for all the bolts. The syringe and tube I ordered from amazon for a couple bucks.
@@Prepare2Survive thanks for the tip on the gear oil! Oh man I’m here in Southern California so it’s usually warm most of the year. My commute is the same going to work. I am doing Uber eats now so I’m adding miles faster!
I to change oil every 1500 miles, It takes so little money and effort, it's like why not!
Best modification I did to mine was upgraded the front and rear suspension, igot ncy front performance shocks paired with forsa rear and it makes a huge difference in ride quality and performance, I swear the bike acceleration is better now with the suspension upgraded, only slightly, but noticeable, just feels much better now, next iam thinking getting the polinni variator upgrade to try help with hills
I had a Ruckus and my wife had a Metro. These we're about 2007 models. My Ruck averaged about 94 mpg, while the Metro got 115.
Great review! I like your accessories, especially the windshield.
Thank you!
Got about 800 miles on mine absolutely love it I have a CBR and I still love the ruckus
Any mods?
@@gizzabem nah other than the cheap bag I bought and zip tied under the seat
Being you ride a CBR you’re the perfect guy to ask. How’s it handle at full throttle? Do you feel like your going to get blown off the road? I’ve been riding bikes & quads for 35 years. I’m going full circle from big bikes back to little bike and thinking about getting one of these for cruising around town. Thanks
@@northjerseykevin3915 handling is great , I don’t feel too blown around except sometimes on the interstate which I do my best to avoid. I’m also a fairly new rider I moved up from a Honda Monkey and I would absolutely recommend it.
@@Diggyace14 bro what is the mileage per litre, how many km, doe it ride uphill with 50 cc , should be priced $ 500 in india
Is that stretch in Loma Linda? I could recognize that pass anywhere, haha!
Love the Ruck❤ just bought my 2024 Avocado 🥑 Ruckus coming in 4 weeks!!!
How much cc
Looks good. I’ve done long distance rides on a 50cc scooter. There are people who have toured on the ruckus. I had a ruckus 250, it was awesome.
A ruckus 250?
@@MrOscar5690 Also called a Big Ruckus.
Thanks for sharing this, I’m getting a ruckus soon, and I’m planning on a 7,000+ mile road trip with it later this year. Lots of ideas to get me excited for the adventure
How much mileage per litre
@@eggbenedict-gt7mw 114 mpg (48.4664 kilometers per liter), the tank is 1.3 gallons (4.92 liters) which you “could” actually get 150 mpg (63.7716 kilometers per liter), now this is manufactured number. But I know I will not get those results because I’m not a light weight, I’m actually looking at about between 70-90 mpg or (29.76-38.26 kilometers per liter). This is all based on my calculations, and my road trip will be filmed throughout my whole adventure from start to finish. I will also calculate the miles with every fuel stop.
Mileage to liter = 23.17 miles per liter
@@kallusmusicchannel7261 supposed to be mileage even more for 50 cc, in india recently Honda launched 100 cc bike for $1000 and the mileage is 70 km per litre
@@eggbenedict-gt7mw I wish Honda made a ruckus 100cc version. I would’ve done the travel with a Honda pcx 150…. But I’m choosing the ruckus instead, well mainly cause of personal reasons.
Congratulations. It looks great. But you take highways on that thing where you live?
How wide is that windscreen??? I noticed when I looked for one for mine they had two different sizes I didn’t know which one to get???
Look around for a seat cushion for these I believe air hawk sells one that’s inflatable it will fit this I’m gonna try and get one of those also however they are quite expensive
Nice video dude, I have a question…. So you need register it and get plates?
Thanks !
Yes!
I am thinking of getting one as a beginner, only thing Im wondering if I can ride it on my local highway where the speedlimit is 50 miles. My doctors I visit is south of me about 10 or so miles.
Cool video! I bought one just yesterday for the work commute as well. That’s probably the only con in my eyes, is going up hills. Seems like we are local to each other. Do you know of or go to any meets/rides?
Awesome man ! Where are you located? Right now I just know me and my buddy ride on weekends lol
I live in Colton just on the other side of pinnacle peak. Aye that’s works ! Trying to get my little brother on one. He’s tempted now lol
@@fourner9l dude you’re nearby! Add me on snap if you wanna ride with us tomorrow! “Gabedawu”
@@gizzabem I knew that hill looked familiar lol. I added you. Cool, I’m down!
I considered the Ruckus. It reminds me of a mini bike I had back in the '70s. But it was just too slow, and it was not rated by Honda to haul my 240 pounds. I wound up getting a Lance Cali Classic 125 for just under $3000 cash OTD. It's a cool looking scooter, has a ton of storage under the seat, goes 15 mph faster than the Ruckus, and can carry 300 pounds. They are NOT Chinese, they are made by SYM in Taiwan, and are very high quality.
Helpful review, really aiming for this. Good looking in the IE.
Eliza? Lol
@@gizzabemclose. How'd you guess?
@@MissPinaii your username lol You know we used to break back in the day lol
I sure wish Honda made a 125 version.
Go buy monkey
@@eggbenedict-gt7mw
I bought a CT125.
I’m about to do that this week just I need to make sure my wife don’t know about it
😂
@Castle Fiorentino I think it was a joke lol
@@gizzabem i hope it was a joke, where is he going to store it? a closet she never sees? it's a crappy way to live having to hide anything that brings you joy from family or a spouse. anyway nice review. this and the Fortnine video i saw before this made me kinda want a ruckus lol. it's like 5 bucks to fill the tank instead of the $25 it takes for my 4 door saturn from a quarter tank to half.
@@blargh7400 exactly if wife doesn’t allow, time to change your wife. You only get to live one time. Are you gona look back and think hmmm I wish I done that.
Mm, she might cause a second Ruckus
had to sub bc you stay in GT lmao! How much did you put down when you financed and how much was payments
& where did you finance it from?^^ im trying to get one
I wouldn’t bother with the air box and exhaust removal, its so much work to tune, get Michelin bopper tires or pirelli sl26, you have a windshield. get a polini or ncy variator and tune 16x13 sliders from 4g to 6g depending on your weight. Remove center stand for a lighter kick stand, replace battery for a lighter one. Get a CDI put in last. All of these will help with gains. Air box delete, changing jets, and exhaust is a ton of work for not much gain. Also if it isn’t a Yoshi or Two brothers exhaust for the ruckus it probably won’t give you any gain. I bought a ruckus with its air box already deleted, I love it, but it was a pain to tune. Just my humble opinion
Yeah man I learned the hard way lol thanks for the suggestion! Any advice on tuning the intake? I am having issues when I hit 40+ and full throttle it’ll rev back down to 40
@@gizzabem you are probably hitting your rev limiter of 8850rpm. You’ll need a CDI to De-restrict it.
If I’m being fully honest as I said.
1. Windshield
2. Street tires
3. Variator
4. Proper sliders in variator
5. Keep stock belt
6. Reduce weight(kickstand,plastics, battery swap)
7. Add a CDI
8 iridium spark plug
Those should be all the gains you need. I’d honestly try and sell your kit and put the stock air box/exhaust back on. If you a determined not to I’d be sure to have a 38/78-82 jet set up in the carb.
@@tylergoff1486 I have the CDI box installed as well but I’ll take your advice into consideration!
yeah lets all spend a couple grand on a freaking 50 cc scooter so instead of going 30 mph we can go warp 32 mph all while making a ton more noise to get the neighbors bitching.
@@bultacowally yes and for the price of 114 mpg ;)
In Cali is it considered a moped or a scooter?
Do you have a link to the shield?
What rack and bag did you go with?
gorgeous bike
What was the down payment and monthly payment ?
I live in Vancouver, Canada. I paid $1,000 down and got two year finance: monthly payment is $171 Canadian dollars of course.
I have been riding it for about a year now: 5 days per week in rain or snow. Yes, "SNOW." It can handle snow too.
I find it make sense not to upgrade the motor some people give ya crap on the road for going 35-40 on a 50 mph road but screw them it's street legal.
i have a 2017 year 3000 miles on it run like new love it just basic mant
T-Mobile has a great tracker system if your vehicle gets stolen.
I would like to see Honda create a trike based on this design with a more comfortable seat and more accommodating to both big and small riders or if not a trike then a slightly larger more comfortable ruckus not quite a big ruckus just slightly larger than what we’ve got here with maybe a slightly larger engine and a really cool side car
The honda navi was top fail in india due to potholed roads and low sale , but this will be a hit if it hits india for $500
How fast were you going ?
Depends on weight. My 2009 ruckus can hit 42 on flats.
Do you need a license for this amazing rukus
Only your regular class C driver’s license here in California!
California you need m1 licensed 49cc above lol
@@gizzabem that’s incorrect. You need an M1 in California for anything that goes over 30mph
@@MrOscar5690 I just realized that lol looks like I’m going to have to schedule a class for it!
These run 50.000miles don’t they
100+ miles
No Sr I mean engine life if it's fully maintenanced not miles a a gallon
@@AllLifethingschannelyt Oh idk, it's a small engine so probably not 50,000 without some kind of failure
Cons included rain and heat??
The front wheel can be locked and the steering wheel locked to the left, can't really steal it unless you're a massive guy and can somehow lift this into the back of something. 2 men would be able to lift it and steal it easier, unlikely.
Put the cupholder behind the seat. Then it will be easier to ride.
I will be adding a rack for a big food bag. Lol

That's a link to Ruc Rac. An awesome rear cargo rack for a Ruckus.
@@ronmendoza1274 ruc rac is too damn expensive. Just buy a metal grate and add a bag on top for more than half the price..

I tried financing but it kept saying to reduce downpayment ???
Did you finance online or in person? I went to a dealership for mine

top speed?

You really need windsheild on a Ruckus? Really?
It’s preferred not needed. Crazy how something subtle bothers you lol

uh uh uh uh uh uh uhhhhh
Good for you. Making fun of people for no reason 👍🏼
@@gizzabem I'm not making fun of you it was just hard to watch because of the uhhhs
There's a lot of uhs because its challenging to get the whole presentation skill down. I've watched a few youtubers grow and some of the best ones start out like that. Takes a lot of confidence to put yourself out there and I'd much rather watch the process unfold keeping it real showing the struggle rather than over acting. It helps the rest of us on our journeys too.
I thought it was a great video! I didn't even notice any "uh's".
