  • Brush Cut Road Side Easy! Brush Tiger on the TYM T474 48hp Tractor. We have been getting a lot of questions about the TYM T474 tractor. Mostly, how do we like it? We have put just over 35 hours of hard work on it and Big Red as we call it is doing great. It is a nice size Compact Utility Tractor with a good amount of horsepower. Just over 48 engine HP. We have not had one thing break down. To this point, it has been perfect over the past 7 months. The size and horsepower makes it versatile. Using the Hardee Brush Tiger is an example of its flexibility. We will give a real in-depth review at the one year mark.

    You can unbolt and move the front plate on the cutter deck and slide it back and bolt back down so the blades can cut the branches better. I brought this same cutter a few days ago. Works great.

    Nice video Tony. I know the Brush Tiger style of cutter is becoming popular and I like how it handles ground brush but I'm not a fan of cutting high (like above your head) because it doesn't give a clean cut on the small tree branches. That being said, I'm REALLY IMPRESSED with the T474 and it's abilities. I'm shopping for a tractor that can navigate narrow trails left by loggers and can lift and maneuver those trails carrying a 1 ton oak log with a grapple. The T474 may be the one for me. Thanks and God Bless.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 года назад

      I am still learning. I was suppose to have taken a guard off the cutter. It would have cut much better. The T474 is a fine tractor and mate's up well with the Brush Tiger.

    I'm about to pull the trigger on either a 474 or 494. Leaning twards the 494 for weight - on 18 Acres about 7 till able. What might you have to say with your experience on these about which I should consider to buy.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 года назад

      The two tractor use the same engine, but the similarities end there. The T494 is a much larger tractor with farm use applications. It is heavily and has draft control for ground engaging implements. The transmission is bigger with bigger gears providing more pulling power for ground engaging. I would say the T474 is a very nice around the farm chore tractor. The T494 is TYM's first level of tractor meant for field work.

    Great video. The mower looks a little light compared to the lane shark and other ones I’ve seen. How do you think it really handled?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 года назад

      It is a lightweight in comparison. This a much more useful mower in my opinion. The weight hanging off the side makes the tractor very unstable in down hill operations with the heavier units. The short of it. With two identical tractors, the Brush Tiger will be able mow in harsher angle terrain because of less weight. It is made to chop down small trees, grass and weeds. Also look into why it is super important to have the pto power unit.

    Dear Mr. Tony, First of all thank you for your Service to one Vet to another!! Do you feel the HST is good choice for the 494/574 models? Just wanting your opinion to the HST being enough for box blading and light leveling/digging with the bucket and the sorts with the larger framed tractors? Thanks again. I would love to be able to email and pick your brain a bit if you have the time or willing to do so.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure

      Yes Sir. I don't know of any HST Failure on the T494/575 models and I talk to a lot of people. I have did long term testing on the T494 and T574. I can assure you, they have enough power to do real tractor work. I would not have anything other than a HST. There is a few HP lost to HST, but it is so much worth it. ruclips.net/video/ZMiMf4Syev8/видео.html

    Tony you’ve got my pumping my brakes on buying a tractor now. I was gonna go green but the TYM Videos you’ve been putting out really got me thinking. My only hiccup is the nearest dealer is almost 100 miles away. How is the maintenance on these tractors? Is it something I can do myself or will I have to take it in to be serviced? Thank you Sir. Bravo Sierra. I was in the same boat as you are. I was buying a tractor 3 weeks ago and came across Tony’s channel, message Tony and watched all his videos and three days later bought a 474. I only have 12 hours on it and love it. A couple of my buddys have green and they are very impressed with it. I did a lot of research and from what I’ve seen by far best bang for the buck.

      I was shopping for a tractor this time last year. I did a lot of research and watched all of Tony’s videos and all the others I could find. I bought a TYM T474 with a cab in June. I have about 70 hours on it and couldn’t be more pleased! The dealer is 170 miles from me. When I need something I call them and they ship it right out. I also purchased a box blade, pallet forks, grapple bucket, and tiller. This is great tractor and a perfect size for me. I was raised on a farm in SW Kansas and operated many tractors of different sizes. Some were owned by my Dad and others belonged to cousins and uncles. This T474 is an impressive tractor especially for its size and price! It is very easy to work on and I love the Kukje engine! It has a wonderful smooth growl that I find enjoyable. I have not had any issues with the tractor.
