Whew...only a haircut and not an amputation! I'm happy!---And oh, the picture-postcard sky. Sheer beauty!
yeah the viewers win! lol, thanks Alana,
Long.. long time viewer. First time commenter. I hope its ok this is a bit long. First, I want to thank you for putting these videos out. I've been in the digital marketing business for the last 15 years. Its fast paced, a bit stressful and tough on the body, in that its a lot of sedentary time in a chair and tough on the eyes. Anyway, I am an avid woodworker in my free time and you're videos have really inspired me.
I told my wife numerous times that sawing and custom woodworking is what I want to retire to. At 45
.. I hope that "retirement" is when I am 50. I'd love to just breathe in fresh air and connect with nature and use my creative side again.
Anyway, I lost both of my parents in the last two years and for a long time struggled to relax and sleep. Then I found your channel. Your calm demeanor, great content and education have had an amazing impact on me. Please keep this up and THANK YOU!
thank you Keith really appreciate that comment, Other than ice cream with Bruno that was the highlight of my evening, thank you again,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 my pleasure. Thank you!
I'm glad y'all were able to keep the tree with just some pruning instead of cutting it down !!!!
hey Russ, thanks for watching,
Glad to see you kept that maple. It’ll still grow into some nice shade down the line. Enjoy your weekend Nathan 👍🏼
Thanks buddy
Great job installing the Third Function Valve.
thanks but I think I might have missed a part, lol,
That’s a great attachment Nathan for your new tractor. That looks to be a great investment for you. I like the way you loaded it up with the maple branches you cut off the tree and heading for the burn pile. Really nice bit of kit. Take care dear friend. Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧♥️🚜🚜
I watched a few of your videos when you were using your mill and finding nails.
I was a electricity lines man (no hydraulic platform, we climb with spikes) for many years and often had to remove tinhat nails that the head had broken off
I used a claw hammer and crowbar for years until someone gave me a nail puller, it was only about ten inches long which would fit in my belt bag.
I must admit I was sceptical and it took a few tries to get used to it, but once you got the knack, it was a godsend.
Once other linesmen saw it they bought similar ones, but the one I had was the cheapest and lightest which was easy for me to carry.
You pulled the inside of the handle out which was weighted and slammed it back to get the beak of the puller to dig into the wood round the nail, sometimes it took a few strikes to get the beak down on either side of the nail about a quarter of an inch, enough to grab the shank of the nail then as you pull back, the more pressure the tighter the grip on the nail gets.
Once the nail is removed there is only a hole about 5/8 x3/8 of an inch and 1/2 inch deep, then the hole the length of the nail left.
From personal experience do not buy a "bahco" one, they are heavy and clumsy, and very expensive.
I do not know how to upload a photo on here, but if you look up a "Faithfull" nail pull on the Internet you will understand how it works.
I also see there is some you hit with a hammer to drive them in.
You should not have to pay more than 20-30 dollars for one. I saw two of the more expensive ones broken, as they were not very sturdily built, and we found out later they were for removing fence staples.
I could have given you my one, but I live in the North of Scotland.!
I guarantee once you have used it, you will wonder why you never had one before. So simple, quick, and easy to use. And you will have mastered how to use it in three nails.
By the removal of your twelfth nail, it will be second nature.
It will also pull embedded hard drawn fence wire too.
Keep up the good work
So you’re a sawyer AND a mechanic!! I bet it’s nice working on such a nice new rig, and on such a gorgeous day where you are!
thanks for watching!
That TYM is gonna serve you well, Nathan. Love the closing drone shots.
thanks Jon,
Good morning from St John Parish, Louisiana 04 Oct 20.
Nice to have the equipment to get the job done quickly. Good work Nathan.
Thanks 👍
You live in a beautiful part of the world my friend.
Nice I have two tractors with grapples. And a skid steer that has one. On the tractors opted for the electric valve. Those sit between the valve body and the pump. Those things are the only way to go. I’ve tried the mechanical slave valves before man I had nothing but trouble out of them sticking and leaking.
And all you have is an electric thumb switch on the joystick. Great video of me girl I see you opted to trim the tree instead of cutting it down.
What fun to work on new stuff! The engine is so quiet inside the cab and a great view of the grapple man thats cool. Another gorgeous day in the great state of Tennessee!! Appecite the work you put into these vids Nathan Thank Yu!
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Good evening Nathan,
The new tractor is going to be a big plus in the future as you learn all the ways you can use it.
Have a tremendous weekend.
Thanks buddy appreciate it
You're welcome. I appreciate what you do.
Yep. Don’t know how I ever lived without a grapple. I probably use that tool in maintaining my land more than the bucket.
Love your new tractor. Will be happy to see you cutting more logs. Have a wonderful weekend and tell Bruno I said howdy.
Thanks, you too!
Well isn't that grapple the cats meow!
👍👍👍
That is a mighty fine.....Tractor you got there son....Thanks
Thanks 👍
Nice job you could hire that thing out to pickup Mitsubishi's after a demolition derby
What a beautiful day. And the tree can live on. Nice work Nathan. The tractor is a beast. It's got to be a dream to operate. Btw, maybe you can get a drone shot at dusk when you light up the burn pile. Don't think we saw that yet.
thanks I will work on that,
Fantastic music. I have just been looking at your part of the world on google maps. Stunning wonderful place you live.
Enjoyed the video Nathan
East Tennessee Mike here. Have a good evening Nate !!!
Thanks buddy 👍👍👍
No disrespect....kinda reminds me of a kid at Christmas!😁👌 glad for you.
Ain't it great when you have a new toy to play with. Regards Jim UK
Yes sir
Beautiful country! What a life!
You need to do a burn pile video one day.
Agreed
Agreed
Just have a tree trimming company come and grind the waste into mulch for you. It'll be great for your garden.
I have one on my mx5000 Kubota n love it.wish I didn't wait til I was 67 n ruined my back.
Right on
I enjoy your channel and I find you informative, but I have a silly question, why have a burn pile and not just mulch the remnants for additional revenue? You know sell it to a garden center. You seem to process enough lumber that might make it feasable. I have no knowledge of your industry, and in fact I came across your channel accidentally, but I do look forward to what you have planned next.
Again, really enjoy the channel. Keep up the great work.
Well ots about time!
😎😎
Another good one, buddy, keep up the good work!
thanks Bevin,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Nathan: other channels have "prayed" over the choice of tractors, but you bought a new one without much apparent fanfare. (I watch your channel religiously, so I don't think I missed it). The relationship between Mahindra and TYM is confusing to me. I am a city boy these days. I know you are busy, but if you could briefly explain or provide a link, I would appreciate it.
Nathan, try pushing the knob in for off and in again for on.
i just discovered I left out a small piece, will fix tomorrow,
Great video
I can't help but think that if that tractor came with any more luxury features you'd have to wear a suit and tie to use it!
With the factory TYM setup its a true 3rd function and you shouldn't need to pull on the joystick. It should just be push the button.
I believe its more of a diverter valve but acts like a 3rd in a way, works good, thanks for watching,
U differently don't need ur burn pile rolling around ur yard. lol 😆 u might need to clean ur burn pile out a little, drop in down a few inches.
You're right
Hey Nathan, I wanted to ask you a question! I know that you used to be a police officer, and I’m just curious why you left law enforcement? One of my best friends up here in Minnesota was a deputy sheriff, and he just retired. I know that field of work is very tough and challenging! Hope all is well, and great new grapple attachment for the TYM! Really appreciate your page my friend!
thanks for watching appreciate it, that reason is personal, no offense,
He has an earlier video just about that subject. You can search it on his channel.
I understand and respect that! Thank you!
Nat, whats the hold up on the new buildings ??
homeschooling,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 , ok....no probs...
Haven't seen where you are on your timber frame for a while. Making progress or has it taken a back seat to more pressing issues?
do they make a wood chipping attachment for tractors.
Yes
Yeah it’s PTO driven.
ive heard good and bad about them,
A little practice and you will be picking up branches with the grapple.
What engine is in the TYMs?
55hp
What happened to the mahendra? You still have it?
Yes 👍
What night is bon-fire night?
soon!!
Liked
thanks Donald,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 How did your garden do. As for the new tractor, yeah baby.
Until you get a true third function valve for your grapple, you will not enjoy the full benefits of having it. The speed and efficiency is much greater with the true third function valve. Just a friendly comment from a frequent viewer.
Thanks for the tips!
I see something wrong with that tractor...... It's not mine!
haha go get you one!!!
thanks for watching ROn,
😂😂😂😂😂
