    Agreed 👍 the most smooth running , and whisper quite motor that
    I personally, have ever been around, and that's in over 30 years of boating .

    Suzukis are great. I had a DF40 from 2007, ran it in sea water as a part of my boat rental fleet, and the only issues I had were due to poor maintenance, which could have easily been avoided if I did the maintenance myself. Still- I put about 1000 trouble free hours on it, and then my bottom unit failed due to rust, and one ignition coil failed due to several missed sparkplug intervals. The engine got sold to another boat rental company, and then to a private owner. He tells me that the engine has around 2500 hours now, and it's still going strong

      Wow! What a testament to how good they are! If you watch my video “why I chose Japanese over an American outboard motor” I go into detail about stories I heard much like yours. So far I have ran this motor a LOT and have had absolutely NO issues. I really appreciate your comment and hope to hear from you again soon. Thanks for watching

      @@jeffrogersbassfishing5723 I just watched it and yeah, I heard similar stories back when we purchased mine. At the time even BRP bought white labeled Suzukis and rebranded them as Johnsons for the entire 4 stroke lineup. I heard unconfirmed stories that it was the case with at least one more big manufacturer in their 2.5-50hp lineup. When we bought it, it was purely envisioned as a leisure boat, but it evolved into a business.
      I frequently put 8 passengers with all their beach belongins on it, and that little 40 got us up on plane and it was still so quiet that I could give a tour of the island while we were cruising around. There is simply no replacement for displacement and that 2007 model still reigns over competitors to this day in that respect, the new Suzukis even went a step further.
      I had years of experience with other outboards as well, everything from old OMCs to new 4 strokes and 2 strokes both Japanese and American and I would definitely go for Suzuki again. I'm glad you're enjoying yours as much as I did mine and as long as you take care of it, it will take care of you. Keep them videos coming and happy fishing :)

      I have NO Doubt you will love it! In my opinion, you made THE best choice you could have. If you watch my video “Why I chose Japanese over American outboard motor” I have many more testimonies about how great these outboards are. Please give us periodical updates on how you like your motor (good or bad) where my viewers can have first hand accounts of what to expect. Thank you so much for watching…

    My Merc 150 has 592 trouble free hours. Had a Suzuki 140 with 1300 hours trouble free. Merc and Suzuki are all I will ever run in my rental fleet. Mostly Merc, easier to service.

      Wow! Oh yeah don’t get me wrong. I know several people that swear by Mercury. It was a tough decision. I made two or 3 videos just on what made my decision 😆 ready because I was so torn. I really appreciate you watching and commenting.

    40 hours in a year is a lot? First year I had my new boat I put 100 hours on it and I'm just an average guy using the boat on the weekend. Now be it I live in Florida and was on the water almost every single weekend Saturday and Sunday

    Hello. I came across this and your break-in videos for your Suzuki. I just got a DF60A for a 17' Carolina Skiff. Waiting to get the boat back from the shop. I am curious , are you able to hit 6000 rpm @ WOT and what pitch is your prop. And I am in shock that you hit rocks and basically only the prop was bent. I'm glad no one was hurt.

      @jeffrogersbassfishing5723  Год назад +1

      Hmmm interesting you asked about the RPM’s. Come to think about it, I don’t believe I have hit 6000. I have tried several props. I think right now I have a 25. I just can’t believe how durable they are! I have been extremely happy with my Suzuki. Thank you so much for the watch and the comment.
