When he says, "If you want it...." and then pulls out the chair for her....treats her like a lady. Like a human being. Love this!
“Holy shit he treated a human like a human!!!”
@@PoutingScout Exactly! I don't get the 'aaaah ain't that sweet' vibe some on here are feeling. It's the very least any human being should expect. Knowing they'd be lynched by the k k lan if ANY of the three of them were caught in such an illegal practice, somehow doesn't make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy knowing the nefarious nature of slavery and racism roots. It's perverse.
@Poutingscout, Don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or what but back then black house keepers weren’t treated like human beings. You need to know something about American history.
Celia isn't racist like the rest of the town.
She's her employer, but she wanted to be friends with Minnie... Despite Minnie protesting, she'd always come find her and eat lunch with her at the little table in the kitchen designated for the help ...
This scene where Celia cooked a HUGE meal and served it to her at the big table, is a big deal, she wanted Minnie to know how much she means to her!

Their friendship means everything to me 😭
Same❤
❤❤❤❤
😢 so touching
It’s not friendship though.
Minny was still her employee. She was a nice and friendly boss. But they were paying her.
That’s the part i never liked about this movie. As nice and touching the relationship between Minny and Celia was, it was never a relationship between equals. One was wealthy and employed the second one, who was poor and needed desperately a job.
Which means that even though for now this relationship seemed going well, no one can tell if 20 years later, Celia wouldn’t fire Minny on a whim, like the mother of Skeetle did with Constantine.
@@Chrysobubulleyou didn’t watch the movie did you?
This scene touched my heart because my big momma was once called “the help” she was my melanin queen. She once told me about a white couple who treated her like she was their equal. They would send her with food and furniture and nice antiques. This scene reminds me of the way she described the couple being so generous. I love you so much big momma r.i.p
My Aunt Martha was the same. She worked for a Jewish family that treated her as family.
Beautiful.
May she rest in peace. 💗
And, may the people who treated her _as she should have been treated, _ rest in peace, as well.❤️
Bless your Big Mama's babies, grandbabies, great-grandbabies, & all her family. 💗
And that's how it always was. Everything in movies and on television is not true. It is mostly fiction.

@@JenX_1973that’s why he didn’t want her
They were meant for each-other, kind souls together :)
What I find funny, to me, is how Hilly is so self-absorbed that she couldn't see or understand that man would've dumped her regardless of if Celia had been in the picture or not.
And no amount of attempt to keep an "image" or societal pressure would've made him stay, let alone MARRY her as she hoped given he clearly didn't care about any of it in regards to Marrying Celia (Pregnant or not) or the scene she unintentionally made at that auction.
He actually cares about PEOPLE, and she barely cares about anyone outside herself and her neck. They never would've made it.
Cool!!

Understandable, these two women were outcasts: one due to the color of her skin, the other due to her reputation.
Their journey is the best in the movie. To watch Minnie teach and protect her and to see Celia grow and be so open and appreciative of Minnie, it really is touching. And when the husband gets on board too? That’s just the icing on the cake. We so need to follow their examples in this crazy world we live in now. I love Minnie’s character.

Hi 🤗. Jesus/God paid for our sins on the cross so we don't have to. Please turn to him to be saved. God bless ❤❤.
@@charlotteroblin5374 You may believe that but other people don't want to pray to a human man. People, can not pay for your sins. You alone have to do that. All this belief does is give people a way to excuse their bad behavior, because they think their sins are forgiven, poof, just like that. This is unrealistic and not true. It's a very old pagan belief. The Pagans believed that their god had a son, they called him "the lamb" and "the light" and said that simply believing in him would absolve you of all your sins. This false belief predates Christianity. And early Christians fought against this blasphemous notion. There is people like that in the world. Kind, respectful and lovely. Always being attacked by mean cruel ppl. I have learned to tell ppl to kick rocks sooner than later if they are not worth my kindness.
People (SOME) take kindness for weakness and generosity for stupidity.
I sometimes feel i am both those things because i let go of things that hurt my heart from the people who are supposed to love me. I’m in no way feeling sorry for myself i fully acknowledge i made the Rod for my own back by being forgiving but right when i think ‘ok these mofos are gonna know’ they either do something nice or some kind of emergency or a ‘thing’ they need we’re all back to kindness and giving heheh families are crazy for sure 👌 💚
@@pickettywitchoriginal im telling you, it was the same for me. You hit the nail in the head. "Kindness for weakness and generosity for stupidity" I did both, kidness and generosity to all. Now, I only give that to ppl that deserves it and appreciate me. Including mom, sister and brother
Especially with narcissistic managers! Never Ever will I allow another demonic boss drag me through Hell on Earth!
I just tell em to kick rocks anyways. My kindness has been returned with but manipulation and fallacy. Nobody gets it from me anymore. They get blunt, straightforward, non sugar coated me. And I don't care if they don't like it. Need my help? I need money. Want my advice, nah...you won't take it anyways. Want my opinion? No you don't...you just wanna hear what you wanna hear, not the truth. So, yea...people don't get it from me anymore.
They take advantage of it forever if you let them. And some will really try to fool as if they care about you and not just what you do for them or give them. Took me 30 years. Because the second I lost everything and turned around to ask any of them for help for the first time in return for so much I had given they were already long gone.
This was my favorite part of the movie! I love that the simple act of kindness of treating her like a human being gave Minnie the strength to leave her abusive husband! 🥺
Loved that with Celia's kindness and Johnny's respect. It gave mini the strength to leave her husband. Sometimes, kindness and respect take time for someone to leave a bad situation. Because you'll know that life can treat you better.
