Anywho, I wanted to take the time today to admire these awesome individuals who dedicated a whole year of their life to taking 1 picture a day in order to document their hair growth. Some of you may not know it but to create a time-lapse like the ones featured in this video is insanely hard and takes a lot of effort on top of the daily struggle of growing out your hair.

Everyone has a different definition of what the awkward stage is.. mine is between your eyes and your chin. Mine has just now reached my lips.. so I'm powering through with HOPEFULLY only another 3-4 months before it starts sliding through that final stage at my chin... these videos really make it easier to keep pushing!!

To be honest I say it's COMPLETELY pointless.

Glad I'm not the only one who does this. I've been growing mine out since last June and it's been a heck of a process. It's tough but I'm sticking it out because I want to grow it long once in my life while I'm still young.
This makes me wish I at least took monthly photos of my hair growth porcees

Very inspiring, thanks for posting. I'm an old guy and I haven't had long hair since my teens. I've been growing my hair for about six months, the reason is I don't wish to comply exactly with societal norms. My hair is thick and the awkward stage seems to take a long while to get through.
I've been growing out my hair since November 22, 2017 and I started with an undercut spike up top and I'm growing my hair out for a top knot undercut! I can't wait until it's fully grown, I've watched your past videos on hair growth tips and they actually work, my hair has grown one fourth of an inch in 1 week! I'm now at 11 month of hair growth ,I started from all buzzed head my goal is at least 3 years and I'm happy to see that people do hair growth videos and that motivates me more
I got my pixie/pompedour hair style re-cut in November 15th, 2019 and now it is February 23rd, 2020! I have grown my hair out again for 3 months. I am honestly letting it grow all the way out again back to 22” inches again. My hair is naturally thin & curly so i have really smooth wringlets when it gets longer. So i’m super excited to see the hair growth progress in 6 months time! I am currently working on taking progress photos every month or every other week and every month! So like, i’ll take a photo at the beginning of March & at the end of March & then the beginning of April and the end of April etc. and i’ll be taking a lot of photos until my hair all grows out or until i get a short bob! And then I may let u feature my video in ur channel when it is made ;) i subscribed too!

I always feel my hair is shit at growing by the time lapses make me realize it’s pretty fast. I’m on my 6th month, started with short hair and it’s almost passing my chin.

I started from scratch by shaving my hair in August 5 from 2019, im in the awkward stage now, in two days soon i will enter to the five month and the day after to the 22 weeks.

I grew my hair out for 3 years and just recently cut off all 13 inches of it about two weeks ago. so hyped to be going through the process of growing again.

I’m currently going through the awkward phase. I can’t style it. It gets in my eyes. Not long enough on the sides to pull up yet. But I’m not giving up. I know my Gail and I can wait patiently for it because I know the end result is in the horizon

Lol and that's exactly why i don't grow my hair it's because when i hit like 4 or 5 months it starts to get bigger instead of longer so i just shave it .

I love seeing stuff like this. I currently have short hair but I have long hair by default. The longest I've gone is 2 years! I didn't even get a trim. My hair was passed my shoulders andcould touch my nipple if I pulled it straight. I've gone from shoulder length to a high-fade 3 times now and its always a sad feeling, but also refreshing!

Chillaxin Fool the thing is if you listen and care what other people say , they WONT EVER respect your decision to grow out your hair. You have to tune out all the noise and let people know to back the fuck off. You’re your own man and will do what he pleases. Fuck everyone who wants to judge you. Do it while you’re young, because when you get around 3 you may not be able to grow your hair. You may be going bald or grey and will look back and regret not ever growing your hair out. I’m 34 so Please listen. I’ve grown mine out plenty of times and I’m doing it again now. Love long hair.

My hair was like Ghoopers, after I turned 27 I got it cut. Curls never really came back. Four years later and my hair still doesn't curl the same way.
A lot of people don't take a grown man seriously just because he has long hair, it's even worse with curly hair. I sport side-cuts because it's practical and long hair on top. "man bun" is still the clingiest word in the world, doesn't matter what some individuals think of the hair style.

As a man i can tell you, i never understood why other men are shy or embarrassed about growing their hair out. i've been letting mine grow without a single trim. the only time i trimmed a inch or so off is when the ends begin to split and die from being in the desert...stupid amounts of heat.
My hair as of now, is brunette about 23-24in so about the center of my back CURLY i have curling iron type curls and i was told by my teachers and friends during high school "That's not your real hair look at how the curls are they spring back"
Overall, my hair is 23-24in in length whilst its curled, if i were to straight it i'd imagine it'd touch my bum if not further it's rather thick meaning a Bun is pretty much my only hairstyle if i care for it.
Considering my hair is Curly, well curly hair naturally has these awkward little frizzies and loose hair you have to buy certain shampoo or hair oils to keep them all fit and well off. but i love my hair as of now. If you have thick hair in my experience avoid hair brushes and go for soft ended ones, i was using a hard brush and noticed towards my bangs the brush actually shortened and pull some of it down because the hard ones were causing it too knot (Already a issue considering its thick)
But if your a man and your debating on growing your hair out, your beard out anything. LET IT GROWWW don't listen to anyone. Grow it out and see how you like it.
6 weeks since I cut my hair. I went four months last year and gave up after having clown style hair. Haha. Growing my hair for cultural reasons. This time around I’m doing like a long undercut basically. I had this type of hairstyle 11 years ago so it’s doable. Very thick curly hair so eventually I’ll cut the back and sides.
Bruh this makes me want to grow my hair out. After all this quarantine and shit, I haven’t gotten to cut my hair. So it’s pretty long. But my hair is always thick and bushy like the first dude. Makes me wonder if I could actually do this.
I've been trying to grow my hair out for some time now. Maybe three years and a half, although I do cut the sides and let the top grow. Anyways, I think I go through one of the biggest struggles when compared to many here. Cuz my natural hair was trash with no form or path it could go, super frizzy, thick, really tiny curls, dry, and almost skinhead when I started. It's been tough. My hair has changed through puberty and it's better now and I've also been treating it better. I've done relaxing treatments and I straighten my hair (no I'm not gay lol). I was born with real nice straight hair with a bit of wave at the end, but it all changed. I think it's starting to change again so the treatment isn't really necessary anymore so I won't do it anymore I think. One of my biggest struggles is the tips, they're dead and I mean DEAD around 2 or maybe 3 inches. But, after a long time of struggling it's pretty long and according to many I look like one of those guy models now. I have a couple pics on my insta, but dang I can't dye my hair even if I tried. I'd have to bleach it and I don't think I should push my luck, I wanted to do some white. Rip. I'm actually letting my hair grow out more though, so the three year journey is not close to over yet 😅 almost 4 years now. Rn I'm in an awkward stage and it suuucks.

I’m at the point now where it looks like I kinda have a mullet. What should I do? I started from an undercut and didn’t get a haircut since then. But now I dont like the look of it and get a strong urge to visit the barber. Also people keep telling me to cut it and it’s annoying.
Just keep going my friend! Ignore the bullshit and keep the end goal in the front of your mind. It's the only way to get there!

Grew my hair for a good 8 months and maaaaaaaan . My hair gets split ends real quick . Still it was fun experience .
I just so desperately need to grow my hair long enough to wear a man bun or a high puff! I'm still growing my hair out ever since 2016 though it has been 2 years now since growing it out naturally (no chemicals no heat damage etc) but during the growing process I also had to cut my hair to shape it up a bit (I call this 'trimming') but when I go to the barbers to shave a little bit of hair and shape it up it feels like I'm having 1 inch cut off as it looks and feels shorter. But this year I promise to only grow it and not cut or shave it off as I have put A LOT of effort in growing out my big afro hair as I have very coily looking hair since I'm a black person black people growing out their hair takes longer as white people with straight hair can grow it fine but for me it felt like forever and I won't reach my goal until 2020 or 2021!
