I was looking on Amazon one night and came across a tool I haven't seen before. The price was right so I ordered the Cresent 10 inch Locking Adjustable Dual Material Wrench part number ACL10VS. I ran into a difficult job and my Snap-On Flank Drive Plus or Milwaukee Max Bite wrenches couldn't grip well enough to loosen it. I gave my new purchase a try. I figured either this tool is just a Gimmick or it will be a must have tool. Which did it turn out to be? Watch and find out.

This is a 50+ year old design.
It went out of production for a long while. An old fellow showed me his pair when I was 18. He told me if I ever saw a pair, buy them. He swore by his. I finally found and old pair about forty years later. Now they are back in production.
I don't need them much, but when I do........

I'm the same. Don't use them often, but when I do, they are worth their weight in gold.

I really like how they lock and bite. Are the craftsman ones any different? Thanks for watching and commenting.

I was working on a job for a few weeks and one of the guys had that locking crescent wrench and I ended up ordering them as soon as I could. I don't use them much but they are pretty handy in the right situation. I almost wish snap-on or someone else made a higher quality version of it.

I'm surprised Snap-On doesn't offer something similar. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Would regular vice grips not have worked?

    • @shanersmechaniclife3164

Yes but at the time I was still trying to save the line. I feared visegrips would have chewed the fitting up.

@@shanersmechaniclife3164 Can you explain the difference between using vice grips and this new tool? It seems like a cool tool. Deciding if I really need one.

Amazing idea.. poor execution!.. On mine the plastic goes beyond the metal in the handle. It feels cheap
