Hey Scotty F Y I
AutoRandz made a video about your shifting gears from drive to neutral.
It's in Spanish
If you want to check it out.
The whole problem is, the government wants to control the vehicle production. Most of them making these decisions, can't even change a tire.
The market seems ripe for an old school car with limited chips, no fancy screen - just good mechanics without all the silly, high-cost, high fault rate electronics.
Sadly the law requires a lot of new electonics so they can shut you down at will.
It's called a used car from the 20th century!!❤😂Yes, their values are Rising!!
Need to go back to engines like the Ford inline 300 6cyl, last forever
@landonbenford8369 yes you're right. I have an Australian 2000 Ford Fairlane V8 and it is solid. It has early OEBD II technology for a scantool. It's done 270,000km and will do that again easy. I don't need to ever buy another car, as long as there's spare parts to maintain it... it a collectible car.
'72 Chevy pickup with a 350 in it. Or, a 60s or 70s Ford pickup with a 300 straight six. They'd still have to have all of the safety and pollution crap on them due to the laws.
I retired from the fire service and some goof ball fire engine manufacturer started building electric powered fire engines. You can be at a fire scene for hours using pumps to put water on the fire. Who in their right mind would buy something that may only pump for two or three hours and you are done?? You guessed it-departments in California. The country has lost its mind !
Reason for that was government and state incentives ,I'm betting that manufacturer made a lot of money ,knowing full well their product was a joke.
I'm sure Elon makes most his EV money off of gov. subsidies.
True. But the trucks have diesel generators to recharge the batteries when this happens (probably not that often).
What are you going to do about foolish inventions
Just Imagine IF California Governor, Gavin Newsom Steals The Election!
America Will Be In Serious Trouble Then.
He Will Do To America What He Already Did To California!
@@DMBriffa If it's an EV fire they'll need to pump water for days lol
When you have car dealerships begging the manufacturers to take back these vehicles, I think that pretty much sums up the American car buying public.
No, it sums up the American EV manufacturing inability. The Chinese EV's are selling like hotcakes around the world. Only Tesla knows how to build an EV in the USA.

I run a fleet of 16 Fseries trucks and have an F150 hybrid as a personal truck. They all work perfect and any recalls have been dealt with at the time of routine maintenance...... absolutely no inconvenience and a courtesy vehicle offered. The last two recalls included replacing a wiper motor (that was working fine) and inspection of the insulation wrap on a wire loom supplying the brake. Nothing burger recalls in a lot of cases but necessary for safety.........
Also the charging station cables are now being stolen for the copper in them.
😂
Yup
We have had great electric cars for years. Golf carts.
Traxxas and Losi make fine electric cars and trucks too!
Gas golf carts are more in demand
Traditional Lead Acid batteries which are very heavy .
Agree 👍 you got that right 👍
Yeah, I use my golf cart around my grove. But I would never pack up the family and go on a road trip using it.
I went to a wrecking yard in my state to get something for my 1968 Valiant VE, I saw a Tesla Model 3 sitting there with only minor damage, I would say maybe $500 if it was ICE, but it was Battery damaged and for sale as scrap. Technology has really got better, where a car 50+ years only can get parts, but a car 1-year-old can't.
Not for sale as scrap but they will scavenge all the parts that they can off from it to sell before scraping . Doors window glass computers electronic components motors ect.
You’re valiant has saved the planet from at least 15 carbon footprints of building its replacement. Making things last has far less impact on the environment than does building a new Tesla, Leaf, lucid, or etruck 150
I had an electric car when I was a little kid, now I’m all grown up and have a V-8😂
I am so proud of you.
My 1970 C10`s V8 & I just hauled 2,950# of alfalfa hay for my Thoroughbred kind of horsepower. Like to see an electric P/U do that in one trip. Must be some people who like them, We even have a Tesla dealership in Salem, Or. on Hwy 22 just down the way from the Salem Costco. Would be interesting to try one out for a drive to visit my relatives in Tilammook county. Would be a 250 mile round trip. Don`t know if there are any chargers on the Oregon coast.
Now you have cordless tools.
That’s funny 😆 😆
Amen
And just wait until the Army has electric tanks and trucks! Battles will only last 2 hours!
Lol. That might be a good thing!
this creepy crap is all based on trying to hurt russia and iran by not needing their oil yet the enemy are the zionists inside the usa.
I could see them having electric takeoff assistance/ huge torque to get things moving, then roll back to pure diesel and generator charging. on some things anyway.
actually that sounds great. 2 hour wars. progress
They'll have to build charging stations on the battlefield beforehand! 😆

Last winter in Chicago we had a cold spell 10 below 0 , The EVs would not take a charge people were getting their cars towed.
In the 2010s we had many small fuel efficient vehicle options for everyday commuters Toyota Yaris, Mazda2, Nissan Micra, Honda Fit. You could buy them all for under $15k new and fuel costs $25/tank. In 2020s there are no small new cars but a saturation of overpriced “luxury” SUVs
people would not buy them in the numbers they should have. they were still stupidly ashamed to drive smaller cars even in 2010.
Yaris!? Like the Corvair, as Ralph Nadar labelled it, unsafe at any speed. We got one from a relative and it was scary to drive. My son wrapped it in blue and stuck a Tesla insignia on it and it sold, LOL.
I was traveling often 2012-2017. Rented whatever was cheapest. The Mazda2 was my fave. It was just a well-balanced little car.
Subaru offers the Crosstrek and Impreza. AWD and loaded under $28k for the base Crosstrek and under 25k for the Impreza. Subaru is on to something smart.
There’s a drivers training school in Sacramento ca that strictly uses the Prius Toyotas. The owner said these cars were the best cars he’s ever utilized for the students.
My friend said the wisest thing I've ever heard about electric vehicles: "Anyone who wants an electric car already owns one." Apparently, a lot of people seem to agree with him lately.
As for electric trucks, the majority of truck owners are not willing to pay more for a truck that does less while also being much more inconvenient. If I'm going to pay $120k for an electric truck then it had better be vastly better in ALL RESPECTS to a "normal" truck I can get for $75k. So far, they are not.

Joe Bidens EV mandate compares to Jimmy Carter’s metric mandate. You see how that went !
Heard here in the UK in some videos on youtube driving tests that the Nissan Leaf (10 yrs old) would struggle to get 85 miles on a full charge, the battery would drop the odd 3% here & there driving ONE mile.
I look for disposal cost to consumer when the batteries are worn out. Just like tires. Can you imagine the cost !?
Worm batteries have high recycling value. Unlike tires
Wrap your mind around the cost to dispose of a nuclear reactor power plant,probably1000x construction cost and waste storage for 300,000 years is how much? But nuclear is cheap!

Make ALL first responders go "green" and replace the entire fleets with electric vehicles and tell me that it's still a good idea. Police cars, firetrucks, ambulances, etc.
"Sorry, all vehicles are currently charging. We will be happy to respond to your emergency as soon as we have enough range."
If You Build It They Wont Come Field Of Screams .
If I remember correctly Benz Damiler and Phillips went through this Hydrogen thing decades ago. They came to the same conclusions....infrastructure was needed first.
I live in a small town (400 people) about an hour from Atlanta, the next town over has 9,500 people and when I drive to the next town 20 miles and back to my house, I end up seeing at least 5 to 10 Teslas. Probably more. There's a charging station at the next town's Target, and there are ALWAYS lines of people waiting to charge up their cars (all different brands of EVs)

Hydrogen is made with lots of eletricity, which is produced with guess what, nuclear, coal, natural gas, diesel, solar, wind?
Yeah but when the wind is blowing and too much electricity is produced, we have to stop the turbines (Germany makes us in Denmark stop them because they too have a surplus during windy periods).
During those periods it would make sense to pour the energy into making hydrogen.
But only then.

I used to subscribe to a magazine called Farmshow ,with lots of nifty inventions and improvements in there ,read plenty of stories about h2o in a jar in ur car with 2 electrodes in it to separate the H from O ,supposedly it worked great.
plenty of guys mysteriously died that built their own h2o car ,the last one was security guard/ex cop Aaron Salter ( killed in a mass shooting at grocery store few years ago)from Buffalo NY that built his own h2o car with YT video .
Corporate power structure, dangerous. Like the 100mpg carburetor, he didn't last long either.
Well I took your advice or should I say suggestion, and found me a 2002 Lexus ES 300. I've had it for about 3 months and absolutely love it! It is a great car and I have no regrets. I do have a question for you, I have found some after market headlamp assemblies for as low as $150. per set of two. I have also seen a set for as high as $300. .Have you had any problems with your lite assemblies/? Also, I did have to replace the front struts on my car and got O'Redys (sp) very easy installation and thanks to your video. You do a great job on your videos. Thanks again, Fan from Bama
Hey Scotty, I would love to see you do a drive test of a Cyber truck. I really want to buy one but they have a two year backlog! Tesla can’t make them fast enough to satisfy the demand!
I figure since you are known for your unbiased and meticulously accurate reporting on the cars (and especially pickups) you evaluate, you can tell me all the pitfalls long before I will ever be able to get one.
Thanks so much,

I see what you did there. But only because I’m old enough to know what the Hindenburg was
Farley brought in as a Savior. Now he has egg on his face. When he is pushed out the golden parachute will break his fall.
Ute pickup hybrid BYD is selling in Austrailia. No range anxiety.
I took your advise and got a 2015 Camry. I love it. I baby my cars. Marvel Mytery oil and oil changes every 5k miles.
Thank you Scotty
Never stop
If he does it is probably a dead battery. lol
I think the new Tesla charging station near me, so far, only has one Tesla at a time that I've seen charging at a 10 or 12 charger station. LOL
Mich governor is patting herself on the back for a bunch of battery plants opening. At this point it's like opening betamax factories in 1990.
Scotty, check out the mazda cx90 PHEV, the electric motor is sandwiched between the engine and transmission and on EV mode, the motor actually uses the transmission
they're not buying gas powered pickups either.
No one wants to haul lumber in a pickup that costs 60k!
They'd buy gas powered trucks if they didn't cost as much as a small house. It's absolute insanity.
@@tenhundredkills EXACTLY!
I would buy a new truck except for one thing-Money.
In the ever-evolving landscape of the automotive industry, it is with a heavy heart that we bid adieu to Ford, a true pioneer in the realm of transportation. This automaker, which has been a beacon of innovation and progress for decades, is now closing its doors, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the annals of automotive history.
From the very inception of this company, it was clear that they were destined for greatness. As we reflect on the journey of this remarkable automaker, we are reminded of the many milestones they achieved, the countless lives they touched, and the indelible mark they left on the world.

Their spirit of innovation and their unwavering commitment to excellence will serve as an inspiration to future generations of engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs. As we bid farewell to this automotive giant, we are reminded that the true measure of success is not just in the products we create, but in the lives we touch and the world we leave behind.
Farewell, Ford. Your journey may have ended, but your legacy will live on, forever etched in the hearts and minds of those who dared to dream, innovate, and drive towards a better tomorrow.
I had my Generation II Prius for 16 years and 150,000 miles. Never needed any repairs at all, not even the brakes, which on many cars will cost you all kinds of money. My new 2024 Prius Prime is a plug in hybrid, so over the last 2,500 miles has only used 3 tanks of gas and about $20 worth of electricity. Kind of the best of both worlds. Only thing I don't like is the "Big Brother" cellular connection that I Opted Out of but Toyota will not Physically Remove from my car. Otherwise an excellent car, light years ahead of my old Prius!
Today I seen something I've never seen in my life. Gas went down like 25 cents in one day weird
It’s been on a roller coaster where I am as well. Strange.

Which oil should I use? My car is nissan versa 2007 1.8 litter engine, mileage is almost 217000km, my recommended engine oil is 5w30, I want to use High millage synthetic oil. Should I use 10w30 or 5w30, It's summer time in Vancouver, but it rains a lot. The weather is mostly 9 to 17 degrees Celsius here during summer. I drive a lot like every day for 8 to 10 hrs.
Battery powered vehicles will never work out...ever.
Finally as an engineer seeing someone who gets the whole thing with hydrogen. I'm tired of explaining to people espousing hydrogen as an alternative to EV's that hydrogen is not naturally occurring in elemental form so has to be produced either by electrolysis or steam reforming of methane and when you burn it you will only get at absolute best 40% of the energy back that you put into making it and in what world does that make sense!
100% agree with you! hydrogen is a very inefficent fuel to produce or use.
Thank you. My kids think it’s a coming future for cars. Never made much sense to me and you explained why.
Maybe Pluto ? Lol.
because who doesn't love driving around an H-bomb. lol it's worse than compressed natural gas vehicles in the sense of fuel storage.
not that lithium batteries are great, if they short/ignite. but neither is any fuel.
@@Dbb27- tell me if I am wrong but I strongly suspect your kids never studied chemistry or physics and then thermodynamics as part of a degree course. Unfortunately there is a lot of information out there that is at best partial truth. I am not a raving fan of EVs but I would take EV over Hydrogen any day of the week. The problem with EV’s at the moment is simply the battery technology is incredibly expensive so if they get damaged and you need to replace them, you’re into serious money….. more than the car may be worth which then makes the cars disposable and that to me is not exactly environmentally friendly.
Heck, a few years back my daughter got a flat tire from a chicken bone. I used to drive a big truck and I got a flat from a windshield wiper blade!
Watch out for a fork in the road !!!😀😀
Scotty I bought a 7 year old SLK with 60k miles as a comfy work car for a 4 year period. Spent $4000 in maintenance and lost $6000 on the sale when I dumped it. Buy em close to the bottom of the depreciation curve and do some of the work yourself. It can work but only on the cheap ones like A class, C class, CLA, SLK, SLC, GLK.
I wish Ford would get on the made in USA, small hatchback FWD car bandwagon, BUT well built and uncomplicated, having as few computers as possible, preferably no computers, naturally aspirated inline-4 of 2.0 to 2.5L, maybe even carbureted, six-speed manual transmission with an available optional automatic, hand crank windows and manual door locks. It should be just back to basics, reliable transportation for the cash strapped consumer.
@@harveyhankerson8359 Would you even want one? I'm not sure I would want a new Tacoma, given all the extra electronic garbage they have now.

I'm driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L I-6, Selec-trac 4WD with only 142K miles on it, but unfortunately it's a 🤬 California vehicle (has TWO catalytic converters & FOUR 02 sensors.). I live in southwestern Pennsylvania and I bought it used in 2014. NOW, it's having electrical issues (02 sensor errors and/or misfires, sometimes on cylinder 5 and sometimes on cylinder 6.). My mechanic is baffled. 🤔🧐😕....maybe it needs a new, main computer. 🤷♂️ I don't want to take it to a Jeep dealer because you know what they're going to say "Here, trade it on this new, $60K+ Jeep on which everything is automatic and computer controlled." 🙄
I'm RETIRED, and don't need a 🤬 car payment.
@@elultimo102 They've OVER COMPUTERIZED everything. They need to get back to basics, with as few computers as possible.

Hey what about all the turbo tiny engines nonody wants
