cocoa is for taste profiles, usually preferred by small chocolatier, sweet stores working with smaller farms aimed to keep greater quality, cacao is organic raw material, both can be used 👌 purposes

Will placing raw cacao in hot water or coffee kill off the benefits?

I have a small coffee bean grinder. I soak a few cashews, then toss them in the grinder with some cacao and a spoon of raw honey. I then add some hot water, not boiling then blend. It’s milky and awesome. Oops, also a touch of salt/cinnamon

Does the one you use have high concentrations of cadmium and lead like most on the market?

  • @GiggleChad

In the reviews for that brand of cacao I saw that there was a prop California warning saying it had lots of cadmium, and some brands (I don’t know about this one) also have high amounts of lead as well. What do you recommend?

    • @HealthyFamilyDoc

Yes cacao is the main ingredient in dark chocolate, and it’s really just a bean! The closer you can get to the raw product, the better. Children can have a serving just like adults!

High in oxalic acid which interferes with calcium in the body and helps form kidney stones in some people. Oxalates also upset the protective balance in the mouth.
