i never suicide. i stand my ground and fight. if they wanna drive in to me to make a kill they need to say hello to my little friend first. im not going down alone, never.
Kirk Maximus Sometimes buying your last shot with stuff like that is just so aggressively stupid it buys you another shot. Then you've screwed up TWO people's easy wins and wasted that much more of the enemy team's time. What more could you ask for?
I drove right up to a enemy Hetzer's ass one time and the unattentive player didn't notice me. I watched him as he shot and destroy my last teammate and it came to a 1v1, and I told the player "Should have looked behind first" and shot the Hetzer in the back lol
Ive noticed a growth in suiciding TDs and Tanks lately but never beats what i experienced once in Malinovka, at the 1st minute our light tanks suicided scout and because we were losing for 2 my team started drowning one by one like Ferengi wussies...i was left alone against a full team but kept my posture and honour and didnt went out without giving the enemy a fight.
Good work Rita; you understand the Alamo mode for hopeless end game situations. More satisfying to take as many with you instead of giving up. The Bishop taught me that style and it works like a dream.
Karl Peterson i do that all the time,I was in a jackson in a t8 match on mountain pass alone after my team died, they had a wolfpack of mediums,I took them all with me but artillery got me,ironic huh
Nice job Rita and as Jingles is saying that's because less of the idiots are playing arty and before the 8.11 patch they were playing hell (sorry for cursing) out of the Tank Destroyers and if not...well they're playing a Tank most likely a OP tank. [This is what got from Jingles, Foch, You, PointyHairedJedi, Circon and the little old thing called comments and forums] Off topic Rita what do you think of the new physics? From Revaninator
I know the pain of having a donkey team. I was once unfortunate enough to have the biggest stupid shit of an artillery platoon on our team. Three GW E-100's that decided "Herpa-derp, let's just kill our top level heavies- IS-7 and two E-100's and then drown ourselves in that lake." Needless to say- without our top tier heavies and no arty support we lost that. Guess that's why the call it "derpenberg"...
As an arty player, its not the nerfs that annoy me. I have accepted the arty's fate. What really gets on my nerves is the players who expect arty to shoot every 5 secs with 0.1 accuracy, and also that arty almost gets the whole blame for the failure of the match.
I was in a platoon with this guy and he was right next to an enemy tank he kept on saying "quick shoot him shoot him." So without being fully aimed I take a shot hit and kill the enemy and my platoon mate and he starts bitching to me about splash damage killing him
Greek Patriot and the recent rework made arty less enjoyable to play (no damage or penetration) but also way more annoying to play against (stun, huge splash). I have no idea why the made this decision.
@@finn5053 Yeah I preferred no stun and high damage. Also they reduced all artillery damage by 50% O.O. The T92, American Tier X artillery used to have 2250 alpha, now it just has 1300 D:
aww man i remember the good times playing as arty. when all my team mates are down and the enemy were converging on me with no hope in sight, i'd charge forward in a blaze of glory, dodging enemy shells, out maneuvering heavy tanks, and blasting them away from near point blank range. Most times i'd still lose, but sometimes i managed to turn it all around and win it stand alone. there was even a time that the only ones left were myself and the enemy arty. we spent quite a while hunting each other until we finally found each other and spiraled into a long duel at point blank to short ranges maneuvering around each other. At the very end of it we were both coincidentally down to our last shells. i barreled out from behind some rocks rammed into his side and fired my gun... sadly thanks to the weird 3rd person camera angle and the way targeting works when you're like that the gun had jumped up to face the sky and just barely clipped the top edge of his plating. The ram had screwed my engine and tracks, so all i could do was wait as he turned around to finish me and my Grille. damn that was a good memory. Most of the players who were long dead by this point had stayed to watch our duel. both sides flooded the all chat the moment i popped. Me and the guy i dueled had a good chat through pm after the round. good sportsmanship all around. I don't remember what map it was on but it was the perfect setting, the terrain and coloration made it all feel like the duel at the end of an old western flick.
Jingles, thanks for his video. I am one of those guys who stuck with artillery. You are correct that it is hard to play them, now. My lessons...play the Grille. It seems to be the "sweet spot" for artillery. Better rate of fire and quicker loading. Still shoots a 15 cm round and can seriously hurt a high tier tank. Still, it appears that most players don't know how (or don't care) to protect SPGs. So, we have to protect ourselves. One trick, run behind the main advance. Better close protection if an enemy fast runner gets too close. About a bad end to the game. Many, many times I have had a pretty good game taking out two or three enemy, but my team collapses and I find myself alone with advancing enemy. My mark of success is whether I can take out at least one at the end. I know that when I am driving a tank I hate getting mastered by a close in artillery, so when I can do it while driving my Grille, I love it. Keep up the good work. Oh, yes...I gather you are former RN? I am retired USN. Take care and hope to run into you one day. Don (Arty51)
It's pleasing to hear some good talk about arty, especially from a man as renowned as Jingles. I wholeheartedly agree with what he says; we, the long range combatants that are actually good and have stuck with it, take a degree of honor to the battlefield and will fight to the bitter end.
anybody that says that artillery is easy i challenge them to play the stock M7 Priest with no equipment and a 50% crew. they will find the error of there ways when the first expirience the 24.80 second reload time.
Codie Eggleston Again; The reload of any Tank in the state of 50% crew, no equipment, and (in some cases) stock is absolutely awful. But anyway, the reload time of Artillery should be terrible.
honestly people really just need to stop whining on the forums because they cant beat something and instead learn how to beat it. I dont make any bones about it im not the best player. I actually kind of suck but i do understand the basic princible of multiplayer. its awfully hard to learn how to improve against worse players than you. in the case of the Challenge i issued as a side note, that was a fully upgraded M7 Priest and it still had a 24.8 sec reload.
I am proud to say that I'm a non scum bag arty player who always fights to the death. i salute others like me o7. I do agree with Jingles' point on how when arty got nerfed, all the good players stuck with it, and all the noobs of artys left. In fact that was my official thought on the arty nerf of 8.6. I very much see the point he makes in his speech. And when you suicide as arty, you make yourself look stupid, and you never get epic replays like with squirtle's replay
I salute you too! even if I'm player who plays all branches. You deserve the salutation never the less. Lets keep making those epic last minute battles. >:3
I never kill myself. Even if it is 0-14, and I am the last guy left, I will fight to the last shell. I have even thinned their ranks a little bit while doing so. Hell, I even got 9 kills in my Grille (yes, before the Great Arty Nerf) because I refused to give up, and a lagging Matilda and I turned the battle around
I'd like to personally thank every whining crybaby with no situational awareness who cried and cried at WG to nerf artillery. You're the reason I can't properly support my team in every game with any amount of consistency. Fully aimed shot with the reticle right on top of the vehicle? Nah, let's send the shot 10 meters to the left. Because the best kinds of the games are the ones ruled entirely by RNG. Wankers.
No-Stalgia Goggles i think people miss the point for me getting hit by arty is not the issue being tracked is not the issue getting 99% of my HP knocked off from full health is they should in fact fix the accuracy and half the artys damage instead
Here is another whining crybaby artillery player who can't accept that, and let's face it, artillery were and always will be OP. I'm not going to start the argument on full-scale but it bloody annoys me when artillery get massive hits and ridiculous damage because how much fucking effort does an artillery player put into a game? None whatsoever! Why should artillery get good RNG and alot out of a game when they put almost nothing in? ~Your neighbourhood arty hater
Mighty Maus you think artillery has good RNG ? cry me a river i don't play arty all the time and i have just 1 arty at 1 time , but i can't count how many times i hit paper armor light tanks or TDs 1 time and sometimes even 2 times and they still live...
Mighty Maus artillery very rarely get massive damage from their hits most of the time its in the low hundreds and that's on a direct hit when you take into account the inaccuracy of arty its fairly rare to even hit. this makes even more frustrating to play as if you miss every other shot does 2-400 damage and all the ones inbetween miss entirely and you have to wait 27+ seconds to reload unless you get a massive hit on an unlucky soul you really wont do much in a game
I never commit suicide as arty. I just load a shell, hide in a bush, and get a free shot of damage on the person who has come to kill me, sometimes killing them outright.
I will come outright and say that one time when I was playing arty, long ago, I attempted to be one of those scumbags and tried to suicide. It didn't work, and I took it as a sign. I will NEVER do anything like that again. As long as my gun is loaded, it will speak its mind, until it can speak no more...
Good video showing the trials and tribulations of us artillery players. It just goes to show what it is really like to rain death from above. It's not like before 8.6, when the expression "orbital lazer cannon" did apply to artillery. High Tier artillery takes forever to aim, is about as accurate as a KV-2 and ISU-152 152mm gun put together, on a day that 0.6 accuracy is not 0.6 russian accuracy, and the mighty trollcannon has decided that the one who wields it, is the one to be trolled on that day, and the shell is about as fast as a howitzer round. So...... yeah....... gone are the days when artillery could just ruin your day on a moving tank, while they themselves were moving, and therefore, the aiming circle was the size of the Pacific Ocean, because RNGesus was looking down upon us constantly.
123eldest OP if they hit..... And considering how inaccurate arty is now, how long it takes to aim, and how long it takes for the shell to travel to its target..... All you need to do is not make yourself an obvious target. To that arty shuffle, and do it well, and try as I might, it will be very hard to hit you. But if you stay still, or occupy the obvious positions, then you're asking for it. Arty is only as OP as you make it for them to hit you, and ruin your day in the process.
People that don't play arty don't realize what a pain in the ass it can be when you spend an entire match without a decent shot. Then there are the matches when your team goes lemming and a scout drives straight to you and you're dead in less than a minute.
Is one thing to fall into water and another when you have 2 tanks in front of you and in place of staing and fighting you turn your back and drive in the closest water.
Yeah I also thought he just retreated and found himself on a steep angle falling into the water. And if he had engine damage, that is a death trap for most tanks.
In this game? No. I think only those who are dying can say if it is a accident or not. Most people playing don't bother to test their brains on such a hard question
Happy to see Jingles showing Arty replays :). I play arty myself and the only time i remember i killed myself was an accident. (artymode - aiming at enemy - no shot - drive backwards to get better aim - falls off cliff (el halluf) - fml). Instead of killing myself i try to get as much damage as possible out of the match and maybe get one or two more kills.
Chris Poole Did you not watch the video and hear how Jingles talks about how it's always people like you who blame arty for not supporting them? Arty isn't easy to play and if your team is shit then it's only gonna be much harder for arty.
SolaceRapier sadly when i say that to people they just say "lol your wrong its easy as taking a shit" but what do they know there nothing but nob for brains >.>
Currently working through the catalog. You never fail to tell it how it is and make it hilarious at the same time. I'll keep watching if you keep posting. Keep it up brother.
"When a third of your team is running around your base looking for windows to lick, you know there's going to be a mountain to climb." I think I just peed a little...
I have nothing against artillery, they make the game more realistic and more challenging. I protect them when they are in my team .Blaming them for a game lost is lack of fair play and judgement .
Artillery can win games, but they can almost never cause a loss, unless its the occasional RNG shell that nukes the best player on your team instead of the target you were aiming at half a mile away. Usually if artillery isnt doing much damage its because the team sucks at staying alive long enough for arty to aim at targets they light up.
Honestly, I feel like arty should be less a game of RNG. I barely play arty anymore from shells landing nowhere near the target while fully aimed in. It's like paying russian roulette but there's five bullets of loosing money and one empty space of landing a shot.
+Tanmang42 You know, it's more a game of gaging your chances to hit than anything else. If you are firing a tank positioned in a downslope, you know your chances are thin to almost none. You don't shoot unless there is no way to get a better target. Playing arty is a game of anticipation and strategy, and also testing your nerves lol Pushing the fire button is merely the end of the wait and the time to see if your guess was right or not, which is why I love playing arty :)
Jingles, if you actually knew that map, you would know that WZ-111 1-4 didnt do it on purpose, he was on the slippery side of that swamp water trying to get the gun depression on the tank and ended up sliding inside the water. Ive already lost a few tanks because of that death trap.
that is true sadly wot maps have a lot of bugs and stupid little deathtraps like these where you end up stuck not cause you do it on purpose but the map desing is bad
Party Arty Party! I wanna have a party! I need to have an arty! You better have an arty! Come on, Party Arty Party! Ya gotta party hardy! I'm gonna have a party! Or else you will be sorry!
Watching this 8 yrs later and wondering wtf is wrong with the graphics. I totaly remember them being better. And the good old days when you could actually kill someone with arty
+The Mighty Jingles hi I got a question for you I was an artillery player before my pc broke down and I was not a scumbag I was doing what those artillery players where doing ive never scumbaged In my life so am I still a scumbag? and why do people hate artillery?
+123eldest: The M41 for example is only tier 5 and has almost the same reload as the Jg E-100 and has some of the worst accuracy ever for its tier and I still like it. I think that YOU are one of those people who hate getting nailed by artillery piece and think if it is so easy to kill people in arty, buy a T92 and tell me how OP it is, the T92 may have a very high alpha, but it has horrific aiming time, accuracy, and reload.
michael crisci I have an M44, I know how good the American artillery are. You must be new to the game if you compare the reload of a tier 5 arty with that of a tier 10 TD. The fact that the M41 has a slow reload and relatively bad accuracy and yet I can still do well in it and you can still like it just shows how good it actually is.
NOW I understand why you call 'em scumbags.. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when the guy driving that WXYZ tank just backed into the water to deny you the kill! When I'm last man on the field as an arty I wait for my chance to shot-gun the first tank I see or I make a run for the cap! LOL There's been more than a few games (especially city and mountain maps) where the only kills I got were from shot-gunning arty-hunters or cap jumpers. talk about a rush! in one game with my priest I shot-gunned two guys (one at a time) before the third came along while I was reloading and got me... and it can hardly be called a shot-gun, more like a blunderbuss; and even that doesn't mean you'll get a kill, most of the time its does little more than track a hvy or whiz right by a weaving scout before you get lit up like a campfire as a weanie-roast....lol i'm of the opinion that anyone suicide-ing to deny a kill should be reported for un-sportsman like conduct... and like you said.... we should try it ourselves before complaining about the arty; I did just that.... I was so mad at arty for a game that didn't go my way so I thought "i'm gonna see just how hard could this be?" and boy did I find out! I found out a cpl things... 1) forever load times!!! 2) forever aim times!!! 3) if you have to turn your tank to adjust your aim....OH MY GOOODNESS the load times are 4X's forever!!! 4) no armor (most of the time) which makes you a candy-filled piñata for those kill starved scouts!!! 5) a hit from artillery (as rare as it is) is no guaranteed kill, in fact if I'm lucky maybe I can track 'em with splash so my team can get 'em... I play tanks more often than arty but I feel it has a place in WoT. I study history (and studied military history for a time) and like a lot of other folks watch plenty of war movies and greatest tank battles on the history channel, and its clear to me that artillery support usually if not most of the time figured prominently in any major engagement. it adds something to the game, another element of danger. remove arty and it'd be little more than another first person shooter... arties make you strategize more, you have to play smarter
I usually do report them for unsportsmanlike conduct *if* I'm sure they're suiciding. Sometimes you get folks, myself included, who simply forget and / or don't know how deep the water is, accidentally roll off a bridge, etc. Arty does play differently, that's for sure. One of the big differences is the time-lag between clicking the mouse and the shell actually landing. There are some maps and some SPGs where it seems that shell is traveling at half the speed of smell and I wonder if it's being delivered by FedEx or something. But that sense of timing is a great skill to develop, because there's nothing like knocking out a moving tank from a map away. It's only surpassed by the satisfaction of destroying an enemy SPG when all you have to judge its location by is watching where their tracers come from. I think other players would feel better about artillery if they simply coordinated more. But many fixate on their own kill boners and then I'm stuck being unable to help because I can't take a shot when they've decided to hug the enemy tank. So I end up watching them get eaten alive before I can shoot. I'm not trying to steal a kill, just trying to make the best use of the shots that are available from a position that doesn't let me maneuver quickly to give me an open shot. Playing whack-a-mole in the tanks is obnoxious enough, and it's impossible in an SPG.
zerstorer335 "forget how deep the water is and accidentally fall off the bridge" is that what they call it now? lol I have played quite a bit of artillery and honestly that has never ever happened to me, I don't know what you are doing when you play arty, but its pretty hard to accidentally drown, especially when you are actually paying attention.
***** It doesn't really happen to me when I'm playing arty, either, because my habit is to find a spot, focus on getting there ASAP, and stick with it unless the need & opportunity to re-locate arises, at which point I'm focusing on driving to the next spot and paying particular attention to where I'm going as opposed to driving while also trying to fight. I was talking about both arty and regular tanks, and how you can drown yourself without intending to commit suicide. I've had a couple times where I was driving a tank across one of those fords / land bridges (like J 7/8 in "Windstorm") or otherwise driving in the water and then accidentally gone off the ford or the coastal shallows (like the water near E0 on "Mountain Pass" or K6/7 on "Live Oaks") and wound up in "drowning" depths. Sometimes you can get back to higher ground in time. Sometimes you need more than the 10 seconds you get.
Although this is late, I think I will post this question: "How many times have you been in a match wherein a tank which almost all of it's health and it's in a very strong position and your team is cowering like babies, and thinking: "I wish there was arty here".
The Mighty Jingles, I enjoy your various videos, lots of great information and some of your commentaries, have me laughing as hard as ever. I am a member of the warmongers clan, led by our commander, doctorbones64. I am primarily an arty player, using the T92 and British Conquerer, gc. You really hit the nail on the head talking about how arty players get blamed for a total team fail or loss. Of course there are some bad players, I'm not perfect, but after being in the military twenty years and arty the whole time, I think I have an understanding how it works. There is a big difference between a computer and being on the battle field for real, this applies to ganks as well. Some folks forget that and for those with no tanking or arty experience in real life, are the ones who judge us right off. But the same happen with the tanks too. For me and the Warmingers, it's all about friendship, having fun, mentoring our youngest members. Top that off with work hard play hard thought process and its a fun combination. Just wanted to shout out, thanks for videos. What is the saying, if the shoe fits, wear it, if. If not, change it. I also respect your judgement of a players skills possibly as I never hear you make a personal attack, very cool. No need to judge me, I'm a long haul driver, only on once a month..think I may be a Z minus..lol...high fives sir...sgtstinkpot, Warmingers.
Sᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ Pʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍs Sᴀᴛɪʀᴇ It means that right now the aiming circle gets smaller over time, but it doesn't scale with distance. In other words, your shots technically get more accurate the further away you aim. A cone would mean that your spread at 2000m is twice as wide as it is at 1000m. The problem is this is very hard to do graphically on a UI.
I hate it when they call us "sky cancer" or a "noob" for killing them. 1: Your "sky cancer" was probably supporting you the whole time and you're happy that they kept you alive. 2: Don't call someone a "noob" when you have no kills and that "noob" killed you, basically calling yourself worse than a "noob."
dont be offended by insults smiley, its a backhanded compliment and means you were effective, had to change my name on wot from this because skypig was offensive to myself, so i got a 4 day chatban for it too, go figure
Hi jingles. I've watched a few of your vids now, including World of Ships. I've been playing WOT for a staggering 7 days now and I've been playing artillery from the start and thoroughly enjoy the challenge. Artillery are only as good as the tank drivers around them, a fact I've already come to appreciate. I want to state categorically, I never suicide. I have often kept firing with death looming down on me to try taking out one more enemy for the team. Anyway, keep up the entertaining videos.
I was in a Sexton and the last one alive and the other team was caping with a Hertzer tank destroyer shooting all over the place going round in circles and traveled to the capture point saw him one shot, one kill and won the game for us against all odds!
I would ask all of those humble and honest tank drivers who like to call arty names - do you realize how much it takes to get a top gun in arty? Especially in t7 and above. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to wait 30 secs and watch your team die because of an RNG miss? And the single most frustrating thing are the crys of your team calling you noob, as****e and such jusr because you cannot be everywhere at all times. Of course its not all like this - it is incredibly rewarding to read the crys of the enemie team because you know - if they are crying I have done my job. That moment when you land a 203mm AP shell doing 2k dmg in the side of the turret of an E100 - its incredible. Or the moment your low pen french t8 shell lands on a piece of thin amour and actually penetrates - oneshotting a perishing for example...its incredible. But still - the outcome of the battle does rarely depends on the arty - if your team sux, or if the enemy team stay in cover you are basically helpless. So yeah... playing arty is not all that easy, not at all. Take care!
Arrivederci that fuel will allow him/her to get in position faster, I also use that in some of my arty's, gives me the chance to get where I want & have my camo net active before a little bugger in a light could spot me going to position.
I've been playing WoT for around three months, so am fairly new. I am one of those people who bitched about Arty, and called them retards for not supporting me. In the end I decided to try playing Arty myself, how hard can it be, to sit at the back and just frag the enemy. I've been playing Arty for less than a week, and I will never ever complain about Arty again. You guys rock, I never realized the difficulties you have to put up with. Having said that, I'm a convert, I'm already loving it, even though I'm still crap, but I watch a lot of the 'How to Play Arty' videos, so hopefully I'll improve with practice, but presently I feel guilty that in getting that practice, I provide a crap support to my team *sighs and walks off shrugging my shoulders*
I believe they over nurfed arty and did it the wrong way, All they needed to do was reduce the damage output. That would've been the best way. In reality, Arty is a part of war, Learn to deal with it. It was all those crybabies out there that didn't like having something else out there to worry about besides other tanks shooting at them. Arty should be more of an annoyence than the death from above that they are when they hit. Getting one shot from arty is frustrating, But getting hit & losing 1/4 of your health is just annoying, To me that means that I have to move. In my opinion, The way they nurfed arty has taken away from the game. BTW: Another great video Jingles. GenFUBAR. Asia server.
My opinion is that the reason WG made artillery like that is because of their weird perception of "historical accuracy". In real life, artillery would one shot any tank on a direct hit, and I believe they're trying to mimic that. Now how they justify that and then ignore other aspects of so called "historical accuracy" is beyond me...
Gunnar Marcum If they really wanted to go with historical accuracy, then why don't most tanks one shot other tanks instead of hitting them numerous times to take their health down? If the tanks need to do that too kill another tank in the game, why couldn't they have arty work the same way? The way they have it now is just another imbalance in the game.
I would I will and I am fighting in my arty till last moment. You'll have to pay repair even you suicide, so why not stay a moment or two and possibly DERP some greedy medium advancing on you. Man that's sweet when you derp 'em and ruin their dreams of sweet free kill on you. Arty is way for it self. It's hard to be good arty player. The term scumbag is not particular reserved for artillery but for whole pallets of idiots that come and drive in various types of vehicles.
By the way, something I just came accross: www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/05/word-scumbag-come/ I am always fighting to the end. Suiciding is no option.
I suicide occasionally, but I always try to do in a way that is either funny or gives them a chance to kill me still. For example, if I suspect they are coming for me, I trying to lie in wait to fire just one more shot, THEN I jump in the drink. If they can't kill an arty from 10m within 10 seconds, they don't deserve the kill. I'm not waiting for a 30-60 sec reload with a gun that can't hit a target 10m in front of me when it counts. One of the funniest suicides I had was when my team was utter shite, and almost the complete enemy team was still alive with me last man standing. I wasn't spotted yet, but they knew where I was likely to be, so I was hiding behind a building for one to poke around.. and then someone joker asked in chat who was going to be the one killing me... so I turned a bit, said in chat: 'That would be me' and fired against a wall :D
I play arty A LOT and I never suicided. I usually try to get the most dmg out before dying. And if I get to 1hit somebody I often explain in chat that things like these are very very rare in order not to further fuel the public rage about arty clicking everybody lol. And I don't fully understand the whining because there are some people who just seem to invite being shot. They get spotted, and even shot at, and still they just park their HT/TD in the open field for minutes. And then they rage when they get klicked and accuse arty of hacking and being op. Some people -_-
I don't think you understand the rage... It takes little to no skill, you barely even have to aim, and you can oneshot stuff. It's all luck, which is super annoying. And if you get good at leading then it just becomes a hustle, even if you do move, it's arty, you just pray for Stalin/Eisenhower/Churchill etc to guide your shot and hope you hit them.
Jingles I would say you are wrong about the demographics of artillery players. I started down the american SPG line the same day I started my mediums and heavies and i joined after the artillery nerfs, and i never suicided. I have to say its quite enjoyable to sit in a bush 100 meters away from the cap circle, and ruin someone's game with a 152mm HEAT round at the end of the game.
I ruin people's games with 152mm rounds and I don't even need to be in arty. The SU-152 is pretty much direct fire artillery, and I've grown to love that machine.
Why to never suicide in arty: because even driving an arty with horrific accuracy, you seem to hit shotguns on mediums at the end when they come to kill you 50% of the time.
+Lorica Depends on the Arty, with the G.W. Panther i feel like hitting 75% of the shots at very short range (< 50m) while moving and turning to not get hit. The SU 122A seems to hit 25% at those ranges.
I used to play artillery but the constant stream of bad games just deterred me away. I know what it is like to play artillery in 8.9, if an artillery fights to the bitter end i respect him. if they "attempt" to drown themselves they usually get a quick shot of HE before they die.
World of Tanks maps are designed to have choke points and you have to sit still to aim to be able to hit anything. Heavy tanks and TD's are slow and cannot turn quickly. If you are defending a area you are standing still. The game is set up so the majority of vehicles are stationary for a large part of the game. So how can it be fair that artillery can do amazing amounts of damage to a tank while the victim cannot see, attack or defend against artillery?
You have to know where the artillery is to hide from them which means getting hit or getting a very near miss. Some maps almost have no cover. If you are in a fight with other tanks then you can't just hide from arty or you'll be killed by the enemy tanks. What I am saying is there is zero counter to artillery so how can that be fair?
St al wut? ALL the maps have terrain or cover against artyllery, name me one map that doesn't. Also you can very well manage to fight enemy tanks and prevent against artyllery because all you gotta do is move, its not like you need to aim at the shell falling from the sky to hit it and therefore you'll die because of that .-.
St al You have to partly rely on your arty to counter. You should always have an idea about where the enemy arty are, that's not difficult. All maps have cover, you probably just forget to use it.
What I am saying is that you have to ignore arty for to a very large extent as when you are doing your job and fighting enemy tanks. I just really cannot see how something that has no counter is fair and aids gameplay.....
As an arty player who has played with great success after joining post 8.6... to you whiners and you criers who complain about always being killed by artillery. Really... you make it too easy. I've seen you back up and pull forward trying to dodge my shot... barely going half a tank length while doing it... yeah, that's going to be an easy hit. I've seen a WZ sit at the northern corner of the El Hallouf... hugging the wall like all hell, he was in a VERY good spot to hide from artillery. As a matter of fact, in spite of being fully zoomed at him from the one location at south spawn where I could get any shot at him from... I still only had a single pixel at the front right corner of his tank that I got a green line on him. Let me repeat this... I had ONE PIXEL to aim at on the very corner of his vehicle. In spite of the fact that he saw arty shells exploding above him and a little ways into the valley... he remained perfectly still. On my 7th try, I finally connected the shell and got the kill (To his credit, he didn't whine, he complimented me on making the shot and thought I had in fact been bluffing him rather than think I actually had a bead on him). I've seen scouts drive in straight lines... You are just asking to die. But god forbid it's an arty that scores the hit... because if they do, a few pages of raging at "OP Arties" are to be found on the Forums. And then snipers who frequent the popular sniping spots, sitting right inside the bush. Gonna let you know, unless I'm driving a very low ammo count vehicle... I am more than willing to take speculative shots at certain bushes that I know give a commanding presence over one route or another.
Captian Nemo Thank you. I mean...really..... If you insist on making it easy for me, then who am I to not put you out of your misery sooner?? Once in a tier 10 battle on Murovanka, I encountered a platoon of Mauses post 8.6 They were just sitting there, in the open. Granted....they were angled to my friendlies nicely, but in the open field. And after I killed them, they let me have it in the in game chat, saying I was cheating and I was a NOOB arty player. Really?? YOu're in the open.... You're not Moving..... You're clustered together..... And all of you are in Mauses....... How could I possibly refuse???
I have ALWAYS said and will ALWAYS say NO TANK ever released by WG into WOT has been EVER OP'd or required nerfing... what needs to happen is PEOPLE NEED TO STOP CRYING and learn how to COUNTER a tank... case in point with arty, DONT DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE, DONT SIT IN THE OPEN... blah blah blah... As a GOOD Arty drive that owns EVER Tier 10 Arty and NEVER gave up on them even after all the STUPID nerf's. IT DOES require skill to play, to HELP a team, back up a push, negate other arty... people that cry about it don't know how to use it themselves...
Chris Wallachy as much as i get annoyed by the cash tanks, i must agreed with you. the only thing that i think its unfair on the game is the premium exp rate ,but anyway, i still can make a hell of a damage on my Stug III so i dont get mad, only when the game insistis on taking me on high tier battles, than USUALY im only spoter and Shield. i admit that i stole a kill from a KV-5 on a Tiger-II , but i know that it would be my only kill and he was right on front of me,with my accuracy maxed on and i was annoyed that i was 100 health and he was ignoring me even i being a easy kill...
I am a T92 owner in the game and I love hearing everyone wine about arty and how we are OP all the time lol makes me laugh for a few reasons 1. my reload time is 45s. 2. my aim time is roughly 12s. 3. I'm slow. 4. I have 500hp. 5. I have to re aim every time I rotate. 6. it takes time for my shell to travel across the map. I have made lots of shots where I missed even when aimed all the way in and been ready for seconds i so if you got 1 shot from arty is because you made it easy for him by hanging out in the open announcing your position with out any thought of who is watching. right now i'm working on my 4th skills for my arty it's not as simple as point and click it actually does take skill I have to try and anticipate what you might do between the time it takes for me to load, aim, and shot travel time on some maps it takes my shot almost 3+ seconds to travel destination. I have made 1 shot kills on targets that were running across the map but they were traveling in a straight line so I gave them a bad day because they made it easy for me. from Metal_Marine_TIBs
Now these days; not many are playing Arty.BTW the matches are in a row where I've noticed these behaviors in different forms; either on my team or the enemy team. These are estimates out of how constant in a row; what type of match is occurring or what is happening more often. Just to give people an general idea. I've had about 3 out of 25 matches in a row; where someone would shoot their "own" arty. (not kidding) 5 out of 10 matches where one side has more arty then the other. (Usually doesn't do much besides higher chance of arty shooting down on you.) Or there is only one arty on each team. 4 out of 5 games where there are no artys at all in the match. (Not many are playing arty anymore cuz they nerfed them again) 6 out of 10 games where there are 2 or none light tanks at all. 9 out of 10 games where I lose because it's my fault i died first or am damn near the last to live and apparently it's always your fault no matter which way you die if you don't win the match for them. 1 out of 5 matches someone would suicide right at the beginning if they have the lower chance to win (xvm mod). 3 out of 15 matches where your whole damn team goes ONE WAY while the other side of the map is wide open (which usually costs the match for you if your team does that). This makes me question if they can read a damn map. 2 out of 5 games there will be a troller via team killing, shooting at someone on your team (doesn't pen or does pen), trolling platoon, ramming into others or yourself, bot, etc you name it. 1 out of 1 matches someone on either team will shout out in a different language then English (not being racist but I'm pretty sure I play on a server that is suppose to be English or am I missing something here?) These are just some example and are not to be taken to heart cuz these are just my experience in the damn game. BEST ONE YET! As an arty out of every 4 matches out of 10 as an arty; a freaken scout would run right up the middle of the map and light you up for you to die while everyone is either too far away or too busy stopping in their tracks trying to shoot the damn bugger before it kills you or other arty(s). And still FAIL at killing the scout cuz it succeeds in lighting everyone up plus the arty(s) location which still results either in your death and others who CANNOT for the love of the game SHOOT the damn scout to save the chance of winning the game.
Its hard to hit a scout when you get hit by enemies if you are aiming at the scout instead of the enemy. That's why I stay in the scout route in my med in the beginning of the game, so I can kill the enemy scout. Also I try to stay in a position where I can protect arty and support my allies. it's not always possible but it helps. And I don't like artillery even though I'm rarely killed by them. I just don't like how everybody has to camp behind cover to not get hit by someone you can't see or return fire.
William Zuppo understandable; but not all players do what you do; they don't care to defend as they call it "clickers" because they're useless apparently; they tend to forget that "clickers" can save their ass and change the game if you can spot the target for a long bit (more then 10 seconds) and keep them in the same spot for arty to do some real work. Right now, I'm running into matches where I can't hide in my regular positions to shoot due to no one defending that area and no one is spotting the enemy long enough for me to shoot them; "clickers" can't do anything if nothing is there. What really irks me now is that 10 out of 15 tanks would go lemming one way.....and then they wonder why their ass is being shot at....99% of the time when they all train shot one way; it fails horribly and these people never seem to learn that
+diaryanjo lemming train never works. I hate when they do that. Try to play with 2 friends so they can push tru one side of the map and automatically there will be players following them. It will lower the lemming train chance and provide you some really good plays
William Zuppo lol the only other person i platoon with is my boyfriend o.o; you probably notice how foul mouth most players are with their negative view towards players with average stats...and even worse towards shit stats....you'll rarely ever find a decent person to platoon with unless you're in a clan already or got some connections with some players
I was arty only player, until patch 8.6 which crippled arty massively. I cant bare the stress from driving the tank for too long, so arty was perfect for me. Nice, cool unstressful time. I really miss that pre-8.6 time where it was not frustrating to play arty. Now, arty is like a bad lottery. Waiting, waiting, more waiting...aaaand MISS, and again so I dont play arty now, but one thing stays the same - I would never ever suicide at the end of the game.
Hello from the future! YT recommendations randomly threw this into my feed so I figured watching an old one might be fun. Man, I kinda miss the old WoT intro.
I personally don't care much for suiciding in my arty I don't play it much but in my opinion if you want to kill me you have to come do it yourself and by that point I've activated shotgun mode
i think arty should get an accuracy buff (because arty is so unenjoyable often or at least better aimtime) but an HE pene nerf. that would bring much more, just because arty was, is and will be a part of the game.
oh and: 8.6 was stupid due to this: arty NEVER was toptier so it didnt do that high damage. now that it gets toptier over and over it just oneshots so many People.
TheMentor455 that is what you think. for most of us arty should be banned. and you want it buffed? it is still way to accurate. as long as an arty can hit from the first shot it is way to op. no world war 2 arty could hit from the first shot it needed to shoot in. so the accuracy in game should be nerfed to only start hitting from the third shot.
good vid Jingles. Also important for tankers to note to the limitations of the arty. They are not the saving grace of the battle. They can not just fire and forget, destroying every enemy tank that is spotted. They are slow to move, aim, reload, accelerate, traverse and there shells have a long shelf life.
I play WOT on the NA Server. And I am an avid Arty Player. Many many times - I am the last player alive on my team. I've only ONCE driven off a cliff into the water and drowned when sudden death was rolling to me... But in my defense, that was an accident and not a choice. I play Arty because I find it a massive challenge. It's tough being a good Arty and contributing to the team. And when I can be - It's so very satisfying. The Grille, the FV304, and the AMX 105 are my favorites. I've not gone above Tier 6 yet. Because of that difficulty. There's been a few times - most recently in my AMX 105 when I was the last man standing... and fought and won the game for my team. Note to Tankers - the AMX 105 is extremely dangerous when in Direct Fire mode.
Great Vid Jingles Now I wasnt reading chat on quicky baby's stream Thursday night but I could tell it was affecting U which is a great shame as listening to U when U play with other streamers is defiantly a highlight and personally its even more special when its Ritas stream. May be they think if they troll U hard enough U will turn in to angry jingles which to be fair can be quite entertaing sometimes but am sure Angry Jingles is not the real BohemianEagle All the best Dude and long may U continue
The number of people watching Quickybaby's Livestream who just flat out detest me and jump all over any chance to voice their hate in chat was off the charts this Thursday. The stream can't have been pleasant for anyone due the sheer amount of toxic bile that flooded chat continuously.
jingles you are like great art or marmite, people either love you or hate you. Me, I have never still been awake at the end of your sleep inducing videos so not yet decided. But I love you for helping me to sleep:)
Many thanks to you Squire Jingles. I started off playing WoT because of the opportunity to play artillery. My first vehicle purchase was the T57, and I made it all the way to the M43 before "The Grand Nerfing" of patch 0.8.6. People who "dis" artillery tend to piss me off. I'm glad to see, sarcasm not withstanding, that you don't really feel that way yourself.
Why do people call arty OP and that you dont need any skillz to play it? thats not right, to be able to play arty you need to learn many other skills than what the normal td or ht players dont have, like communicating with your team, you need to be patient player and these days.... you also need to take all the complaining from your team. Complaining like this: OMG NOOB ARTY FCK YOU, YOU DIDNT EVEN SAVE ME WHEN I RUSHED!!! "Arty Reloading 50seconds left..." my team: OMG ARTY WHY WONT YOU SHOOT!!!" those people are just annoying and they make artillery players feel bad....
I got in a terrible team with three artillery on each team. It was just me and an M37 left at the end vs. 7 enemies (2 mediums, 2 artillery, 2 heavies, and a light) and the artillery on our team had 11 kills altogether at the end. Then my rep dropped from 5 stars on xbox live to 2!
Thank you for this. I play arty and too often I'm called a noob or asked whether I'm sleeping because I'm supporting the weaker flank or shooting other available targets. Some scouts go rushing in before the arty have even loaded their first shell and then call arty players noobs. Some tanks expect us to shoot something but don't give us time to aim/reload. To play arty you need the patience of a saint, and even then sometimes you couldn't hit the barn even if you facehugged it. Sometimes it's the biggest damage dealer of the team - if the team are willing to let it work and protect it. Sometimes it's helpless - reloads are hideous and city maps cripple it. I would never suicide my arty as it's still able to do serious damage - but if I'm on a reload and there's nothing I can do when an enemy comes for me, I'll just sit and wait for the shot that kills me, at least I tried...
I am not disputing anything you said about scumbag players, but just an observation. It's a bit ironic that historically tank and arty crews were trained to do just that (destroy their own vehicles) if they were abandoned or were about to fall into enemy hands. What the game designers should do is make the last tank to score a hit (or maybe even the last tank to sight them) get credit for the death/kill. That might stop this once and for all or at least not cheat players out of the kills. Additionally don't some arty players argue that suicide is cheaper than getting destroyed? If this is so then they should just make it the same cost to replace a sunk tank as a destroyed one. ~~ The other observation... this seems to happen to you a lot. I have played more matches than you, killed probably just as many arties, and I don't see them trying to suicide that much. They just don't want to get killed by Jingles me thinks! lol
Peter Kovacs Not so. It's hard to see them underwater, but If you can spot a drowned tank, then shooting it is just like shooting any tank whose crew has been all killed.
I believed him that arty wasn't OP, but after a game in my e 75, I had already don't 3.5k DMG, hadn't taken a single penetrating hit, then out of nowhere I got 1 shot by a 212a, arty broken as hell, my ass it isn't OP
Did it ammo rack you or penetrate your engine deck or or hit you with the 212a AP which if it hits you will blow you into the stone age like it should since it is as accurate as a polished turd.
griff11ster youre right, artillery needs a serious firepower nerf and a aim rebalance. also a better chance of see the tracer to play counter artillery
I agree. Arty is actually one of the hardest types of tanks to play mostly because there's a lot to go into it calculation wise. Gotta know Shell travel time, where the tank would be, etc. Unless there's a person sitting still (who usually are the people that rage) it's hard to hit a tank.
I honestly believe that playing a low-tier arty should be mandatory before you can proceed to the mid-tier mediums and heavies. I've played quite a few battles myself in the different arty lines (before giving up) and I am sure I am a better player overall because of it. I have a firmer grasp on where I can move to stay in cover with my mediums and heavies, know more about obvious artillery spots and where to spot them with my scout tanks. Thanks for the vid, Jingles. You're epic as usual. :)
ZWhat is so wrong w/scumbag ops?? Why should I give points to opponents ?? And after all, this war, not pot luck freebie Friday night cold chicken fish fry barbecue... Know what I mean, Vern? lol lol
Chris Redpath I dont care its a game and if I choose to bail I will whether you like it or not. To many times I have been rushed or hunted down by several tanks after everyone else has been killed. Is that fair? Are those players considered scumbags for ganging up on a single tank to get extra EXP and coin from a cheap shot play like that. Like a pack of rabid wolves on a feeding frenzy. The game has already been won.... So, I call them SCUMBAGS too. And what about ramming a much lighter tank for a kill instead of duking it out, another cheap shot. But who cares because player will do whatever it takes to gain an advantage and that should include denying another player a free kill.
Taisting the Air no your own team should be considered scumbags for covering the arty and if there comes a time when you are losing the battle so what sh*t happens there'll be another one...
Well of course enemies will gang up on 1 person, that's a valid tactic.... Why would you go 1 by 1 fighting 1 at a time when you could all just kill the enemy without dying?
+the mighty jingles I can agree that arty isn't a laser cannon, if you aim that is. If you don't aim... Well let's just say there are devastating results. They also have guided shots. I have the Wespe and let me say, I've been getting a ton of blind kills
The main reason for arty drivers to suicide so often is the long reload time. Suiciding while having the gun loaded is stupid. But if you have just fired your shot and it takes 30 seconds to reload it and there is a medium tank attacking you, not suiciding is just good behaviour, but nothing more than that.
+Methylimidazol I missed my desperate shot gun attack ones so i used the fact i was on a hill to ram an enemy before they gunned me down, didn't do much but i still felt good about it,
Thank you! From old arty girl who still casually still plays them and always fights to end (even scouted for TD in one of the end games xP). I came to play the game with every branch and I intend to do so.I didn't give up on artillery even if it's much harder now...
Whenever I play an Artillery, I always make sure that I am as far from the battle as possible, then drive into the open if I am the last one on the team, if possible.
I don't know what is the thing with the arty .. In the last couple of days ,arty was just ruining my medium tank games, and never shot me while driving my E-75. But when i was driving my T62A at 50 km/h some arty just blasted me from the sky ,from 1950 to 0.
Its funny to see Jingles give props to arty in this video yet if you've ever seen him playing in QB's or Circon's stream, he's almost CONSTANTLY raging about how scumbag arty are raining shells down on him. :x
I think inside the mind of Jingles, there is conflict. Arty means entertainment to him, yet he likes to dismember when he can... This segment does alot for the Arty-drivers....I think its fair to the subscribers for the discriminations and the need to watch what you're doing. But I agree...inside, there is turmoil behind that calm water. :)
I know this is an old post but still wanted to put my two cents in. Your videos are awesome by the way. You and Qbaby have loads of information for all of us. I'm no expert and with not playing for nearly a year I find myself having to get used to my tanks again. May not be on every single day now that my little girl has been born! Maybe one day she will be a tanker :) If I was still in the military I could probably get her to ride in a real tank. Back in 1990 I got to ride in a M60 Paton in Fort Hood Texas.
Jingles I have to agree. Arty players have to be more situation aware, sometime they get frustrated when they see things happening but they can't do anything abt it
*SPOILER* the Sturer Emil couldn't have shot through that no matter if he loaded He or not because while you can penetrate soft cover, you cant shoot through buildings
Being from South Africa it is sometimes hard to play normal tanks because of the 300 - 400 ping so I do play a lot of Arty. Not that it is easy with that ping but because I can read the movements of the tanks and still get hits even with lag. Thanks for the video Jingles, maybe I can give you some Arty support when you are in a tight spot one day.
I think the First WZ 111 didn't intend to suicide. He was probably freak out by jingle and fall back, and didn't realize there's a slope and he drop into the water and can never back up again even if he wanted to. I fell into the "slope in water" trap for a few times already. And 19:37 , that always happen, I die and arty make the kill.
i had an arty map in a Sturmpanzer II where it was just me and another Sturmpanzer II left because our team just rushed in and died. The great thing about that tank is that it can act as a tank destroyer if needed. Me and that other dude ended up killing 5 mediums, 2 lights and a tank destroyer, the rest of the enemy team. I have never had such a great match with artillery as that.
i never suicide. i stand my ground and fight. if they wanna drive in to me to make a kill they need to say hello to my little friend first. im not going down alone, never.
Agreed, I rather announce my location and dare the enemy to ram me than ever go suicide.
9/10 it buys me enough time for one last shot.
I did the same in my grille a few days ago and killed a luchs by the blessing of rngesus
Karl Peterson Hell, if the Alamo had at least one gatling gun/minigun on their side, that would have been a much different story to tell. ;) Lol.
@@theshermantanker7043 pen got halfed and ap/heat ammmo got removed
In the day your team could kill you.. And they did in horrible ways possible.. poor SPGs..
aww man i remember the good times playing as arty. when all my team mates are down and the enemy were converging on me with no hope in sight, i'd charge forward in a blaze of glory, dodging enemy shells, out maneuvering heavy tanks, and blasting them away from near point blank range.
***** Love my grille
USN is United States Navy?
Yes, US Navy.
Don Inbody I hope we can play together one day.
Me, too. Look for Arty51
It's pleasing to hear some good talk about arty, especially from a man as renowned as Jingles. I wholeheartedly agree with what he says; we, the long range combatants that are actually good and have stuck with it, take a degree of honor to the battlefield and will fight to the bitter end.
its a fuckin raging hypocrisy to hear a guy like Jingles talking well about arty. guess you haven't been watchin his vids long enough to know better
anybody that says that artillery is easy i challenge them to play the stock M7 Priest with no equipment and a 50% crew. they will find the error of there ways when the first expirience the 24.80 second reload time.
Sir I agree wholeheartedly to this I have had many many good games in that tank but there is a reason my top tier is a German TD
Codie Eggleston Play any f'cking tank stock, without equipment and 50% crew and you get the same torturing gameplay.Completely invalid point.
Mighty Maus your issue is you missed the point i was making completely. The reload time being atroshis was the point
If only bombers worked as good in WT as arty works in WoT
Arcade....
As a bomber, I can say that they do if you do it right.
Wankers.
Sean Stratton i quit artillery because of that.... got tired of missing by 10-15 meters in my fully aimed arty
I just load a shell, hide in a bush, and get a free shot of damage on the person who has come to kill me, sometimes killing them outright.
i fight to the last long reload, i only suicide if my team is just straight up shit
Yep and thats why I keep HEAT rounds in my M41, 240 mm of penetration is hilarious to use on even T7 tanks.
I will come outright and say that one time when I was playing arty, long ago, I attempted to be one of those scumbags and tried to suicide. It didn't work, and I took it as a sign. I will NEVER do anything like that again. As long as my gun is loaded, it will speak its mind, until it can speak no more...
"a third of your team is still running around the cap circle - looking for windows to lick" priceless XD
This comment deserves a medal.
...and yet arty are still OP at high tiers.
123eldest
OP if they hit.....
123eldest Tell it in the face of Death star ;-)
Daeworn
Or the WT E-100 with a full clip........
People that don't play arty don't realize what a pain in the ass it can be when you spend an entire match without a decent shot. Then there are the matches when your team goes lemming and a scout drives straight to you and you're dead in less than a minute.
in 20 games today 4 tanks did suicide, and im not talking about arty, im talking about tigers and tds...
Is one thing to fall into water and another when you have 2 tanks in front of you and in place of staing and fighting you turn your back and drive in the closest water.
Grim Reaper Lol I do that all the time, But with a t29 your not getting out of that river XD
I wasn't looking and drove into the ocean on one map in an O-I Experimental .-.
I disagree, the WZ at 2:40 did not suicide. It was an accident because he wasn't aware of his surroundings.
Yeah I also thought he just retreated and found himself on a steep angle falling into the water. And if he had engine damage, that is a death trap for most tanks.
True. I've done the exact same mistake just there. It goes very steep into the water, and you just can't get back up again.
It happend to me too, further to the north though. Anyways, some tankers might suicide and therefore it is a nice introduction to the videos topic.
In this game? No. I think only those who are dying can say if it is a accident or not. Most people playing don't bother to test their brains on such a hard question
On Lakeville in my T40, was rushing to take out an enemy scout and lagged into the lake and couldn't get out.
I've played artillery before and I've never even tried to suicide before. I've tried fighting against tanks when I'm the last one left even.
same, in fact its usually up to me to try and wipe out the 10 tanks left after i am last man standing on my team...
Connor V That clearly means you haven't done a good enough job supporting your team mates.
Chris Poole Did you not watch the video and hear how Jingles talks about how it's always people like you who blame arty for not supporting them? Arty isn't easy to play and if your team is shit then it's only gonna be much harder for arty.
Chris Poole *Facepalm* Did you literally just skip the vid and went into the comment section...
"When a third of your team is running around your base looking for windows to lick, you know there's going to be a mountain to climb."
I think I just peed a little...
As a British artillery player, the Bishop's accuracy and aiming time is the most troll thing an arty can have!
wait for your next tank
Devin Green
see ya :D
"Praise that Helix player" if you know what I mean
I have nothing against artillery, they make the game more realistic and more challenging. I protect them when they are in my team .Blaming them for a game lost is lack of fair play and judgement .
Artillery can win games, but they can almost never cause a loss, unless its the occasional RNG shell that nukes the best player on your team instead of the target you were aiming at half a mile away. Usually if artillery isnt doing much damage its because the team sucks at staying alive long enough for arty to aim at targets they light up.
fakiirification WOT is a team game , you are as good as your team are .
Mihai T thanks for the TL;DR version of my comment =).
Cancer.
Playing arty is a game of anticipation and strategy, and also testing your nerves lol Pushing the fire button is merely the end of the wait and the time to see if your guess was right or not, which is why I love playing arty :)
eralar2
What I mean is enemy, unmoving in a field, firing, then having the shell hit the edge of the reticule (After fully aimed)
wait, what if in a row of 10 matches, all of shots miss, even the perfectly aimed ones, and you try shotgunning each shot, and get 4 kills?
Watching this made me wanna play artillery.
The Pz. Sfl. V was likely using AP anyway. That shack was not a penetrative target for kinetic ammo.
I think it had two sides,as in it was a shack with walls, not a single wall to shoot through, two walls
Jingles, if you actually knew that map, you would know that WZ-111 1-4 didnt do it on purpose, he was on the slippery side of that swamp water trying to get the gun depression on the tank and ended up sliding inside the water. Ive already lost a few tanks because of that death trap.
hmm.... a new derpenberg
that is true
sadly wot maps have a lot of bugs and stupid little deathtraps like these where you end up stuck not cause you do it on purpose but the map desing is bad
yep.
Party Arty Party!
I wanna have a party!
I need to have an arty!
You better have an arty!
Come on, Party Arty Party!
Ya gotta party hardy!
I'm gonna have a party!
Or else you will be sorry!
ItsDaKoolaidDude you're cooked as fuck
*****........ Every party needs a pooper, that's why they invited you, party pooperrrr, party pooperrrr.
you're so cooked mate
personsaynoisweirderthanweirdal
Thank you jingles for realizing the struggle arty people go through. If you have more than one tier 10 arty hats off to you! Welcome to my club
Watching this 8 yrs later and wondering wtf is wrong with the graphics. I totaly remember them being better. And the good old days when you could actually kill someone with arty
Thank you so much for this! I love my artillery (particularly my fv304). How does one go about submitting a replay to be featured in a video?
Check the "About" page.
Thanks so much for replying! :D
I also like the Birch gun :D
It is not as mobile but it is funny to anger you're enemies with 10 sek. reload >:)
i play with M12 30 sec reload xD
and bad aim :c
+The Mighty Jingles hi I got a question for you I was an artillery player before my pc broke down and I was not a scumbag I was doing what those artillery players where doing ive never scumbaged In my life so am I still a scumbag? and why do people hate artillery?
I agree I've got the M7 Priest and its only tier 3 and it takes a year to aim and reload AND PEOPLE SAY ARTILLERY IS OVER POWERD????
They are very OP.
123eldest -_-, No just No
+123eldest: The M41 for example is only tier 5 and has almost the same reload as the Jg E-100 and has some of the worst accuracy ever for its tier and I still like it.
123eldest
Well the M44 is kinda crap, barely an upgrade over the M41.
LOL There's been more than a few games (especially city and mountain maps) where the only kills I got were from shot-gunning arty-hunters or cap jumpers. talk about a rush! in one game with my priest I shot-gunned two guys (one at a time) before the third came along while I was reloading and got me... and it can hardly be called a shot-gun, more like a blunderbuss; and even that doesn't mean you'll get a kill, most of the time its does little more than track a hvy or whiz right by a weaving scout before you get lit up like a campfire as a weanie-roast....lol
i'm of the opinion that anyone suicide-ing to deny a kill should be reported for un-sportsman like conduct...
and like you said.... we should try it ourselves before complaining about the arty; I did just that....
Although this is late, I think I will post this question:
"How many times have you been in a match wherein a tank which almost all of it's health and it's in a very strong position and your team is cowering like babies, and thinking: "I wish there was arty here".
No need to judge me, I'm a long haul driver, only on once a month..think I may be a Z minus..lol...high fives sir...sgtstinkpot, Warmingers.
i suicide at the end of games as artillery, but i do it by charging headlong into the first enemy i can find :D
I do that too except that I shotgun them first, if I miss I just kamikaze them.
***** Excuse my ignorance but what does 'inner convex cones' mean?
Sᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ Pʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍs Sᴀᴛɪʀᴇ It means that right now the aiming circle gets smaller over time, but it doesn't scale with distance. In other words, your shots technically get more accurate the further away you aim.
A cone would mean that your spread at 2000m is twice as wide as it is at 1000m. The problem is this is very hard to do graphically on a UI.
most of the time when im arty i fight to the death
CouchDerp Potatoe The one and only way arty should be played, in my opinion.
I hate it when they call us "sky cancer" or a "noob" for killing them. 1: Your "sky cancer" was probably supporting you the whole time and you're happy that they kept you alive. 2: Don't call someone a "noob" when you have no kills and that "noob" killed you, basically calling yourself worse than a "noob."
dont be offended by insults smiley, its a backhanded compliment and means you were effective, had to change my name on wot from this because skypig was offensive to myself, so i got a 4 day chatban for it too, go figure
they are just losers
You hear that boys! Not every scumbag is a scumbag!
Take care!
there is just one point i always think about ...there is noone really able to shoot back at you while you so painfully reload 30 secs
why is Squiirtle+o using high-octane fuel? what good it is to G.W. Panther? isn't the chocolate better?
Arrivederci that fuel will allow him/her to get in position faster, I also use that in some of my arty's, gives me the chance to get where I want & have my camo net active before a little bugger in a light could spot me going to position.
Actually buildings still stop AP shells. Even 155 mm can be stopped by a woode hut on top of malinovka hill
Having said that, I'm a convert, I'm already loving it, even though I'm still crap, but I watch a lot of the 'How to Play Arty' videos, so hopefully I'll improve with practice, but presently I feel guilty that in getting that practice, I provide a crap support to my team *sighs and walks off shrugging my shoulders*
i play as Arty a lot and i try to use my Arty as a Tank Destroyer when i am last man...
I am proud to say I am not a scumbag.
Gunnar Marcum
If they really wanted to go with historical accuracy, then why don't most tanks one shot other tanks instead of hitting them numerous times to take their health down? If the tanks need to do that too kill another tank in the game, why couldn't they have arty work the same way? The way they have it now is just another imbalance in the game.
For the sake of a pun, I must say...
It's my arty, and I'll die if I want to!
Please do always mark the target you are shooting at before you pull the trigger when you are driving SPGs
*applause* that was beautiful
By the way, something I just came accross:
www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/05/word-scumbag-come/
I am always fighting to the end. Suiciding is no option.
rmh7tw
:)
SeedlingNL no justifying suicide, youre a scumbag
I play arty A LOT and I never suicided. I usually try to get the most dmg out before dying. And if I get to 1hit somebody I often explain in chat that things like these are very very rare in order not to further fuel the public rage about arty clicking everybody lol. And I don't fully understand the whining because there are some people who just seem to invite being shot. They get spotted, and even shot at, and still they just park their HT/TD in the open field for minutes. And then they rage when they get klicked and accuse arty of hacking and being op. Some people -_-
max mustermann I was in my Chaffee going full speed, not in a straight line I must add, I had just finished circling a T29 and I got one shot
+Mr Mafia lucky shot
I don't think you understand the rage... It takes little to no skill, you barely even have to aim, and you can oneshot stuff. It's all luck, which is super annoying. And if you get good at leading then it just becomes a hustle, even if you do move, it's arty, you just pray for Stalin/Eisenhower/Churchill etc to guide your shot and hope you hit them.
Marshall Bornn this is really overexaggerated
Abd Mzn I play arty and that tends to be my experience :L
Jingles I would say you are wrong about the demographics of artillery players. I started down the american SPG line the same day I started my mediums and heavies and i joined after the artillery nerfs, and i never suicided. I have to say its quite enjoyable to sit in a bush 100 meters away from the cap circle, and ruin someone's game with a 152mm HEAT round at the end of the game.
How to know this guy is terrible, he is firing HEAT out of an arty :P
I ruin people's games with 152mm rounds and I don't even need to be in arty. The SU-152 is pretty much direct fire artillery, and I've grown to love that machine.
ILikeTheThingsIDo God I almost have that tank, I cant wait for it.
I don't need 152 mm rounds to ruin people's game, I just need 122 mm rounds on the SU-152.
So how can it be fair that artillery can do amazing amounts of damage to a tank while the victim cannot see, attack or defend against artillery?
it can defend itself, hide behind objects.
you sound like someone who doesnt know what he's talking about
You have to know where the artillery is to hide from them which means getting hit or getting a very near miss.
Thank you for clearing that up for all WoT players.
As I just commented before( on a different post), arty is only as OP as you make it.
Daniel Shipman That sums it up nicely. It really is only as OP as people make it.
Captian Nemo
Thank you. I mean...really..... If you insist on making it easy for me, then who am I to not put you out of your misery sooner??
Once in a tier 10 battle on Murovanka, I encountered a platoon of Mauses post 8.6
They were just sitting there, in the open.
Gr8 Vid - I play Arty, the non scumbag variety and appreciate the thoughts :)
''I don't always play artillery but when I do, the enemy tanks suicide. Stay thirsty my friends.'' - The worlds most interesting tanker.
making a reference to we were solders just helps the case that you are my favorite youtuber
(not kidding)
5 out of 10 matches where one side has more arty then the other. (Usually doesn't do much besides higher chance of arty shooting down on you.) Or there is only one arty on each team.
4 out of 5 games where there are no artys at all in the match. (Not many are playing arty anymore cuz they nerfed them again)
6 out of 10 games where there are 2 or none light tanks at all.
1 out of 1 matches someone on either team will shout out in a different language then English (not being racist but I'm pretty sure I play on a server that is suppose to be English or am I missing something here?)
These are just some example and are not to be taken to heart cuz these are just my experience in the damn game.
And still FAIL at killing the scout cuz it succeeds in lighting everyone up plus the arty(s) location which still results either in your death and others who CANNOT for the love of the game SHOOT the damn scout to save the chance of winning the game.
teslagod2003 ikr.....I'm surprised you read it all it seems e.e
That house at the sturer emil, Is NOT soft cover...
Your picture made that comment 3 times better. :P
lol
You can still get the point even tho they drowned themself. You can still kill there tank.
But you don't get the damage points to be recorded for anything so it just wastes credits
I personally don't care much for suiciding in my arty I don't play it much but in my opinion if you want to kill me you have to come do it yourself and by that point I've activated shotgun mode
its not that arty is OP or anything, i just think it's lame to just die out of nowhere. i don't go whine on the forums or anything, it just sucks.
i think arty should get an accuracy buff (because arty is so unenjoyable often or at least better aimtime) but an HE pene nerf. that would bring much more, just because arty was, is and will be a part of the game.
oh and: 8.6 was stupid due to this: arty NEVER was toptier so it didnt do that high damage. now that it gets toptier over and over it just oneshots so many People.
TheMentor455 that's actually a really good idea.
if you got killed by any undetected tank would it be as bad as artillery?
I hope you wont be Tarty for our Arty Party. We arty will kill enemy Artys and afterwards we will get some Arbys
Last game was amazing gg.
Great Vid Jingles
Now I wasnt reading chat on quicky baby's stream Thursday night but I could tell it was affecting U which is a great shame as listening to U when U play with other streamers is defiantly a highlight and personally its even more special when its Ritas stream. May be they think if they troll U hard enough U will turn in to angry jingles which to be fair can be quite entertaing sometimes but am sure Angry Jingles is not the real BohemianEagle
All the best Dude and long may U continue
The number of people watching Quickybaby's Livestream who just flat out detest me and jump all over any chance to voice their hate in chat was off the charts this Thursday. The stream can't have been pleasant for anyone due the sheer amount of toxic bile that flooded chat continuously.
BohemianEagle Well, yet again the wonders of the internet were exposed!
I guess those keyboard warriors did think they were hard enough. :P
jingles you are like great art or marmite, people either love you or hate you. Me, I have never still been awake at the end
of your sleep inducing videos so not yet decided. But I love you for helping me to sleep:)
Being one of the arty vets who have stuck with it , I can't agree more . You are spot on sir!
I like playing arty, is a good break when the RNG is endlessly trolling you in regular tanks :p
Yeah because RNG doesn't troll artillery at all :P
Haha, well the rare moment when RNG trolls the person you fire at is sweet :p
Oh yeah :/
Just got a arty one-shot at Himmeldorf today in my M103.............. a M40/M43 hit me in my Commanderthing back at the big turret :/
Painful bro :p
+ It's funny when you get a direct penning hit and one shot a tank and they rage :P
i hated to get oneshoted by the enemy arty, when i drive my WaffleTräger
thats some nice WAFFLEträger you have there
Learn to use cover
Why do people call arty OP and that you dont need any skillz to play it?
thats not right, to be able to play arty you need to learn many other skills than what the normal td or ht players dont have, like communicating with your team, you need to be patient player and these days.... you also need to take all the complaining from your team. Complaining like this: OMG NOOB ARTY FCK YOU, YOU DIDNT EVEN SAVE ME WHEN I RUSHED!!!
"Arty Reloading 50seconds left..." my team: OMG ARTY WHY WONT YOU SHOOT!!!"
those people are just annoying and they make artillery players feel bad....
There is nothing more satisfying in WoT, than shotgunning an overeager tank that comes at you like he thinks he's got a kill secured.
They just don't want to get killed by Jingles me thinks! lol
Jimmy De'Souza I think i saw that happen like 10 minutes ago.
Jimmy De'Souza You can. I do it all the time, and then laugh at them.
duvagr007 Yes,but if they sank before you can reach them,it doesn`t work and who has a little brain do it before you even know where they are.
Peter Kovacs
Not so. It's hard to see them underwater, but If you can spot a drowned tank, then shooting it is just like shooting any tank whose crew has been all killed.
i want a orbital laser cannon :(
I believed him that arty wasn't OP, but after a game in my e 75, I had already don't 3.5k DMG, hadn't taken a single penetrating hit, then out of nowhere I got 1 shot by a 212a, arty broken as hell, my ass it isn't OP
Did it ammo rack you or penetrate your engine deck or or hit you with the 212a AP which if it hits you will blow you into the stone age like it should since it is as accurate as a polished turd.
do you have any idea what the odds are of 1 hitting a tier 9 heavy tank? that allmost never happens, he got lucky, you got unlucky, period.
not very good odds, but it still happened, and its still bs
griff11ster youre right, artillery needs a serious firepower nerf and a aim rebalance. also a better chance of see the tracer to play counter artillery
Cry more please our artillery runs off tank tears
Jingles I would like to sincerely thank you for teaching me how not to be a window licking dog shit eater thank you again
ZWhat is so wrong w/scumbag ops?? Why should
I give points to opponents ??
And after all, this war, not pot luck freebie Friday night cold chicken fish fry barbecue... Know what I mean, Vern?
lol lol
Suicide is valid, get over it.... LOL I think you're over reacting.
You might say the same for tanks that ram to win.
Chris Redpath
I dont care its a game and if I choose to bail I will whether you like it or not.
No it ain't fight a good battle don't give your enemies a good fight
Taisting the Air no your own team should be considered scumbags for covering the arty and if there comes a time when you are losing the battle so what sh*t happens there'll be another one...
Arty should fight honorable no matter what other donkeys do
Well of course enemies will gang up on 1 person, that's a valid tactic.... Why would you go 1 by 1 fighting 1 at a time when you could all just kill the enemy without dying?
+the mighty jingles I can agree that arty isn't a laser cannon, if you aim that is. If you don't aim... Well let's just say there are devastating results. They also have guided shots. I have the Wespe and let me say, I've been getting a ton of blind kills
how? i can never get kills in my wespe, unless it's a shotgun
+Killer idk, RNG I guess. I haven't played it in a few months cause of issues with the game
When there are like four arty on the map and three of them are aiming at you and missing every time you can't help but saver their frustration
Jingles I have to agree. Arty players have to be more situation aware, sometime they get frustrated when they see things happening but they can't do anything abt it
*SPOILER*
the Sturer Emil couldn't have shot through that no matter if he loaded He or not because while you can penetrate soft cover, you cant shoot through buildings
