This is just an evolution, siliwangis get Hydro, so you end up with perma hydro as well + Pan Asian smokes that are Hybrid between US and UK DD, means that while alternating you can stay moving almost permanently, there's a 30 or so gap between the smoke of DD2, and DD1s smoke coming back up

It wasn't even a blowout match. This was fairly close and therefore even more funny. The 2 DDs were beaten down pretty hard when detected and this division the only ships left alive in the end.
It was fairly close game because of the carrier division, without them this was gone be a miserable defeat.
Their single division killed all but 1 of the enemy team. His team was basically a non-factor in the match. What great balance ffs
The most unfortunate part of this tactic is they deny their team the use of their two DDs because they are exclusively busy escorting their carrier. Meanwhile the enemy has its two DDs running around unchecked. So every time you see a reply of this it's going to be close because the carrier's other teammates don't have targets and no screen to prevent them from getting spotted themselves.
Really if you drop into a match like this and see the filth on your team, the best plan is to tag along with the CV and take advantage of the spotting and ASW. That, and maybe hold back a little and keep the caps flipped.
@@virt1one yes, joining it is exactly what you should do. You think this is scary with 3 ships? Imagine something with German Hydro joining the party. And heaven forbid if real firepower joins like an atlanta.
The counter to this BTW, as someone who does a very similar thing in a CurryWurst, is to literally just shoot torps at the front of the smoke. That's it no extra details needed.

I remember being on the receiving end of this tactic a while back.
Saw a random smoke screen slowly crawling towards my Z23 and thought “Aaha! This DD has just done f*cked up” I popped my hydro and headed in balls deep…. Didn’t even make it into hydro range before I got absolutely wrecked by by the sneaky bloody GZ!
Lesson well and truly learnt!
19:26 I mean, you COULD, but it'd be more difficult. I think part of why he got away with it is cause it's a T8 match. It'd be a lot trickier at T10 where radar is more likely.

I remember the zeppelin when it was introduced and actually participated in the zeppelin's rework that happened directly after it was introduced. I remember that the ship itself always seemed strong, the problem and all the testing I did always seemed to be trying different aircraft strike arrangements and the parameters, it was a fun experience, too bad Wargaming isn't the same anymore.

Don’t see how Wargaming can’t adjust the Heinkel to operate from a carrier, they’ve managed to adjust the British Canberra twin engined jet bomber to operate from a British carrier.

When one protected class meets the other protected class and all the rest are just paid actors.
BTW: Jingles, why you cant do this with a GK: the chance to meet multiple radars is extremely high in comparison to a T8 CV who can meet T6 ships who lack Radar or high range hydro.

This isn't a wierd tactic, but a well established CB tactic of chain smokin an Atlanta or Cleveland and going GoT Mad Queen: burn the city kind of thing... They just used a secondary barge in the game to do it this time.
Meanwhile, if it wasn't for the German Bias, this battle would have been another 11 ship blowout.
Pretty sure why the rest of the team didn't do well and only got one kill, is because by pulling this stunt he as a carrier wasn't providing much spotting or fighter cover outside his own cap, and he took 2 DDs and all of the functions they perform away from the rest of the team.
Its horrible team play. Plain and simple. As the rest of the team outside of his immediate area were essentially playing with 2 AFK DDs and an AFK Carrier.

The Atlantico has 234 mm secondaries, so that's even more ridiculous to not have a smoke firing penalty on
I can only say "if it's stupid but it works"
the reason for no smoke firing penalty is probably due to them automatically firing and would often prevent a BB hiding in smoke (as noone other than destroyers even learn they can be turned off)
I've seen Thunderer being tortured by t8 CV with his AA turned off whole time. Secondary armaments management is way too hard for this playerbase.

Just a small correction.
Jingles says that this got put up and Wargaming blamed a miscommunication for why it was so different.
Wargaming actually did worse. The ship was terrible, but they basically blamed the community for being so bad with it that it was bad. I forget his name, but the BEST CV player, the King of the Sea, couldn't make it work. he commented that it was a rubbish ship. If he, the best Carrier player in the game, couldn't make it work, what's more likely? a rubbish community or a bad ship?

A nice Example what a Carrier Strike Force can do. It worked because of the lack of any Radar in this Battle. Edit: I just want to appreciate how good the Platoon performed together.

GZ actually has the most accurate secondary guns in game with battle cruiser main battery dispersion and is fun to run...the planes are very meh, but that's not why you use GZ anyway 😂

It's a bugged torp, if you pay attention it just phased out, sometimes torp Indicators don't dissapear and just keep on sailing forever, even going through Islands
i was confused in the game as well but yes that was one of the torps dropped at the hood - which bugged out

Actually, Jingles...
1. Not all German secondaries get the 1/4 penetration rule, the 88 mm guns on some of the lower tier ships do not.
2. German 150 mm guns get 38 mm penetration, not 37 mm. Not a big difference, but significant against high tier US battleships with their 38 mm midsection armour.
3. As for "you could do the same in a Kurfürst". Technically yes, but Graf Zeppelin has the best secondary accuracy in the game (tied with Arkansas), with base dispersion being almost three times better than Kurfürst and co. Also, being able to occasionally use your "main armament" and still staying undetected is quite useful.
That's it, back to the Salt Mines for me and thanks for an entertaining video with the only kind of CV play I can respect.
There should be a gamemode where there are no carriers or submarines. EDIT : I would not be suprised if he was reported as a cheater by those on the enemy team.
Still OP, yes. 10 kills, that's still obvious. But finally a CV vid I can like. A div fighting together, always smart and good enough to be rewarded. Thanks Jingles. How soon before they get banned for this teamwork hack??
In all honesty, the Ta152 was not only a high-altitude interceptor. The Ta152H subvariant with extended wingspan, pressurised cockpit and GM1 (NOS)/MW50 (water-methanol) injection was.
There were also fighters and fighter-bombers planned
I haven't seen the video further then the teamscreen.. But when you see a GZ paired with a pair of identical DD's you know what's comming.. A Sec spec GZ that will not really be spotted and will light anything up. Enemy DD's will be spotted by air and they will melt..

Close to where I live, there is a set of the 150mm guns from the Graf Zeppelin on shore. Used as coastal batteries after they were removed from the ship. I Sent photos to you July 13th 2020, if you still have emails from way back in your inbox:)
I've killed CVs with subs when submerged in range of them, just don't ping and the AWS won't know to attack you. Most CV players don't move much, so homing torps are not needed.

Now all that is missing on the CV's are Automatic Anti Ship missiles. and automatic targeting and launching of the planes, then you have the perfect AFK premium ship with building in BOT function
To be fair, it's absolutely brilliant teamwork, but on the other hand, this is an absolutely disgusting tactic regardless of the ship, and even more disgusting by doing it with a CV.

Jingles. Sadly yes I’m a console scrub on World of Warships Legends.
Myself and two friends divisioned up with a Yolo Emilio, Bismarck & Brandenburg. What we’ve done on a number of occasions is sail towards the enemy at full speed the destroyer leading. Allow the destroyer to pop its rolling high speed smokescreen with both battleships behind, secondary’s only firing away! I’d be lying if all three of us weren’t laughing our heads off when we kept attempting this. I will say, we’ve only been successful once but it’s been bloody hilarious watching other players scramble to try an stop us.
This is basically a "game design exploit". It's entirely fair given the rules of the game, and _is_ funny as hell. Perhaps is more people did this, the exploit would be fixed... in any other game.
The Graf Zeppelin - as PointyHairedJedi pointed out, is a carrier where the aircraft are the secondary weapons......
Jingles unless I'm very much mistaken you featured this player before in the Graf Zeppelin divisioned up with a Lo Yang and a Benson, hiding in smoke and nuking the enemy team.
I think the reason that secondaries don't incur smoke firing penalty is because they're automatic and WG don't want people moaning and batching about smoke being useless on the forums because their secondary armaments fired off a single shot at a DD that popped up for half a second, and we all know that WG are averse to the idea of adding anything that would require thinking, like having to turn off secondaries while in smoke
The first Graf Zeppelin replay had a lot of warhammer 40k references to commanders wanting to drive their tanks close enough to hit them with their swords! This was both hilarious and sad.

I remember the time I made the mistake to think I could Yolo and gun down a Graf in a gunboat DD ...... He did double the damage that I did to him and I got killed before my smoke could deploy.
Second time Noc has been featured doing this, I find it funny Jingles didn't think to go back and check to see if it was the same player. Noc is known for doing this kind of thing in the same way as Flambass is known for two brothers mid rushing

I think my best game with my GZ was when i got 3 Secondary kills in a single game. Its Secondary armaments are awesome and great fun. It just happens to also have planes!
