To those of you that have had issues with this fix you can try to re-pair your controller to your xbox. If that doesn't work try to connect a different controller if available. And if despite all that it could potentially be your xbox's adapter.

You need to do it with the usb, i had this problem with my xbox one s controller wouldnt connect to my xbox one. All i had to do was plug the usb cable in, let it update and then it worked wireless . Hope this helped anyone. PS . the xbox one s controller feels different.

NIGERIA Gang I had to take apart my Xbox and fix the sync button because it was out of place, and when I pressed it before nothing happened. It was also full of dust, so it worked out in the end too. Btw I tried different batteries, different controllers, and even connected the controller to the Xbox, but it still kept blinking. I guess my sync button on my Xbox prevented it from connecting. Thanks for the reply though.

At the moment I was completely scared, but it didn't help my controller. One thing i do know, it didnt restart my xbox completelty. But, i went downstairs with it, and it disconnected from the xbox, what do i do? I tried holding down the button, and i used this meathod. Nothing worked :( July 1st

EXACTLY...Thankyou...if your controller is flashing and you cant use it wirelessly because all the controller did was blink then this hard reset did the trick...FIRST I signed in to my account unplugged the controller...the controller continued to blink THEN I pushed the Xbox button once on the controller and it reconnected...again THANK YOU!!!
My wireless controller does this everyday I gotta unplug my xbox then sync it and sometimes it restarts my Xbox

Hey i tried connecting but it do-sent shows up on Bluetooth devices
& XBOX PERIPHERAL [XBOX ONE WIRELESS CONTROLLER ] do-sent shows up

This just worked for me. Before I tried to use a USB, then the Bluetooth link, I've tried to take my batteries and link it by usb and that didn't work. So I shut the power off like you did then I unplugged it for the extra measure. Then plugged it back in and it worked. Thank you for the video.

Good news if you don't have a USB cord once you do most of the steps after resetting it you want to press the upper button you tried before and it didn't work and it should start lighting up then once you do that do exactly what would you do then you can play your games again after suffering I was about to give my controller the death penalty by basically throwing it smashing it with a hammer and lighting it on fire but luckily thanks to you but a little bit of me we saved the controller from death penalty
No matter what my controller still won’t connect I went on my Xbox one day last week and it jus wouldn’t connect the closest it come to working is when I left it plugged into my Xbox for about 4 hours and then when I went to play a game it was connected and working but then as soon as I moved it a little bit I disconnected and when that happened I instantly plugged it back into the usb and it was back to not working again plz help

I know it's old Post and someone already said it I'm sure, but I wanted to just say just do the hard reset and it should work. I have my controller hooked up through a wall charger and it worked. Kudos though dude I didn't know you could hard reset by holding it....

I dont know if this comment might help somebody but what i just did was take all the chords out of my xbox, i was using an extension chord for the outlet so i put it into the wall, Then i also noticed my wifi box was Alittle close so i scooted it over alittle then turned it all back on. hope this helps !
I used this for a different reason I decided to connect my controller on my phone and it worked. after I was done I wanted to play one my xbox so I clicked the button and it started turning on and off. The first thing that happened was my phone saved my controller so whenever I turned it on it connected to my phone. So I turned blue tooth of and searched how to connect my xbox controller if not connecting thanks to you because when I found this video and watched it it changed my life
