Best fix honestly requires the disassembly of the controller, i fix these daily and most of the time it’s just dust and gunk inside of the Potentiometers on the joystick. This may help to a point but the main issue with drift is faulty potentiometers in the joystick models. They are cheap plastic and graphite potentiometers. (main body is metal) you can do 1 of 3 things to actually fix the issue. 1. switch the modules out for new like for like ones (requires soldering skills) 2. When you're using isopropyl alcohol to clean electronics you want to make sure they're de-energized and unplugged from the wall after you unplug it from the wall press the power button a couple of times to de-energize it isopropyl alcohol is extremely flammable so a small spark can ignate it on fire
Or if it is 99.9% alcohol you can just dunk it in, do the twisty then leave it to dry. Alcohol dries fast in hot so a hairdryer on low should speed it up. Your room will smell of booze but atleast no drift right?

Did it work?
If it does work, you just saved me 60 bucks for a little longer. Thx
When you're using isopropyl alcohol to clean electronics you want to make sure they're de-energized and unplugged from the wall after you unplug it from the wall press the power button a couple of times to de-energize it isopropyl alcohol is extremely flammable so a small spark can ignate it on fire
Is that alcohol can be replaced with the contact cleaner?
Or if it is 99.9% alcohol you can just dunk it in, do the twisty then leave it to dry. Alcohol dries fast in hot so a hairdryer on low should speed it up. Your room will smell of booze but atleast no drift right?
@Tinker Man Mick this is not your fault but after I did the I had very bad problems with the menu button not working and when I get into a game it keeps opening up to menu without me touching the controller. Can you maybe tell me what happen or if I just ruined my controller and I fried a circuit just plz tell me thx
Does it also work for a trigger button?
Hey so my controller wont turn on now. Ps4. Is that a part of the drying process or is that the nail in the coffin telling me to buy a new controller?
Same thing just happened to me
Honestly I'm a little pissed as well cause it's my custom made vemon controller
@@ghostridergr150 yeah fuck this help review, I’m buying a new controller today. Time to drop $60+ cuz I believed this shitass solution to fix controller drift. Excellent.
Hi how do I fix a bumper button that barely clicks
The dirt and grime aren't going to be dissolved completely. You just wash them down and it just move down into the stock assembly where it will set into stone once alcohol evaporates.
Does this work with a xbox elite series 2 controller since alot of it parts are magents?
I dont have that spray alcohol will a spray hand sanitizer work out??
I’m glad you are on xbox
*I like your funny words magic man
I have that same controller down to the colour and this worked like a dream
