Hi guys! Thanks for all the super sweet comments! A lot of you have asked about the markers that I am using (sorry for the late response to your questions, my husband and I have been traveling cross country) :) Anyway, my favourite markers are Primsacolour brush markers. You can find them at art stores in the 'art markers' section. Sometimes I am using the Deserres 'store brand' markers, which I bought in Toronto at Deserres (a Canadian art chain store). They're good, and they're fairly inexpensive, but they don't last as long as the Primsacolours.
How I wish I had a steady hand like your's! :-) I've enjoyed watching how you create such cute, fun little goodies - but I'm afraid, I'm doomed to using computer fonts to achieve those looks! Well, 'doomed' is rather hyperbolic since the computer-generated results are far superior than anything I can draw! I'm a writer, and do a much better job of painting pictures with words. Your words ARE pictures! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas! I've learned a lot and I appreciate that! Good work!

I've subscribed and liked your videos, but as a retired teacher and a calligrapher, I literally hold something over part of the screen to obscure the way you hold your pens. For years, I encouraged my elementary students to hold their pencils in the traditional way due to the flexibility of the thumb and index finger as opposed to using your whole hand to do such a detailed skill. Don't get me wrong, tho, I really enjoy your creativity, tips, and videos. 😃 I wouldn't expect an adult like yourself to change what has become muscle memory. I just wanted to put it out there as so many young kids seem to enjoy your tutorials. 😌 Just sayin' .
BTW it hurts my heart that cursive handwriting was taken out of so many schools (although I've seen a few districts bringing it back). I'd get parent notes or signatures that I swear I couldn't tell if it was written by parent or child. Sad.

Even though I'm pretty sure you would have of preferred for Shayda to have answered I figured I could help. No, you do not have to hold the pen the way she does, you can hold it as you normally do. Hope this helped 🙃

I think she just uses a fine point sharpie , a purple mechanical pencil and a prismacolor brush tip marker
Great video but it would be nice if you used the fast forward feature as your going along. Gets a bit monotonous.Thank you though for sharing your craft.

+gissellesabine Hi! I'm using Primsacolor brush markers and artist markers as well as some art markers from Deserres (an art store in Canada) and those markers are just the Deserres store brand. The primsacolour brush markers are my favourite and they tend to last the longest.
