    Thank you for this! My insurance doesn’t cover much of my insulin at all, so $25 compared to $200 is awesome! And this one specifically works great for me!

    I haven't had the time to watch your new series of "affordable insulin" yet, but I applaud you and much appreciate! I plan to one day go on R, I hear it goes great with low carb diets.

    I use R by choice. Works perfectly in my case.

    This helped so much! I was in the hospital for days and Drs wouldn’t educate on where to get affordable insulin. I had finally found this but when asked how to it works compared to the faster acting insulin choices they Drs acted like they had never heard of R and pretty much put their hands up and left me to figure out how to use it. This was so helpful! Thank you so much

    Thank you for making this video. I've been a type 2 for 20 years and never needed insulin until I got covid. Metformin keeps my sugar around 100 to 120 no problem. But now that I have covid my sugar has skyrocketed to 400 to 450 and as most of you know the amount of metformin it takes to get that high level down will make you absolutely sick. My dad suggested r insulin and I'm looking forward to my wife getting home w it so I can get back to normal. Thanks again.

      There's also some good information on using insulin as a Type 2 Diabetic in Dr. Bernstein's book Diabetes Solution. I encourage you to check it out. Glad it helped!

      @@TameType1 thanks again. I knew nothing about insulin until today and you dummied it down for me. After 2 45 doses my blood sugar is back to 100. I will have to check out the resources you've just provided. Metformin tears my stomach up and it sure would be nice to incorporate insulin in my routine to give my stomach a break. Thank you so much for your help.

      Metformin won't lower blood sugar like insulin. I does a few things but not the same as insulin. It slows stomach emptying, reduces appetite and reduces liver glucose production so helps with fasting At 400 you need insulin.

    I don't understand the last for rating of an insulin. I just started Novolin R and am on Metformin and Basal. I'm finding it works weill with carbs like Shredded Wheat but not sugar given the same grams. Also carbs mixed with fat like Sausage Egg Biscuits. I dose 6 units eat a SEB plus a 20 gram shredded wheat and see 100 at 2 hours. I start eating about 20 minutes after dosing. I don't know what it does 2 hours later though if it already handled 50 grams of carbs? Does it do anything or is insulin 'used' up be carbs? I'd like it to benefit both breakfast and lunch if possible but breakfast would be higher carbs and lunch lower then I'd dose again at dinner.

    My 8 year old is on r. It's been a week and yes her sugars have improved but she seems weaker ..not as much energy..any suggestions ??

      Sometimes when you finally have more normal blood sugars, it takes time for your body to adjust because it's used to your blood sugar being higher. A lot of people feel low in the 80-100 range at first, not because they are actually low, but because they are used to being in the 200's!
      I'd wait and see. It can take time to adjust. If it continues, consider switching up what she's eating. And don't forget that millions of things OUTSIDE diabetes impact energy; sleep, exercise, stress, etc.

    Do you refrigerate after open or just leave it in room temperature

    • @TameType1
      @TameType1  3 года назад

      You can leave R-insulin at room temperature once it's open. Theoretically it'll still last longer in the fridge, but I've always left mine out once opened without issue.
