@Steve Hilliard , try eating lower carb. Avoid a much sugar as you can. Once I lost weight my blood sugar went down with oxempic and Metformin ER. HbAIC when down to 5.4%. Now on just Metformin ER 500mg. And HbA1c is 5.7%. Mild exercise daily, and avoid sugar and grains including bread has helped. You are welcome to write back and we can compare notes. James

Not if you have Chronic Pancreatitis or Damage in Beta Cells, also any herbs or stuff like Ceylon Cinnamon or Berberine won't work. They don't push the sugar into the cells but rather tells your enzyme or intestine slow down or not absorb at all... Yeah you'll lower it with Ceylon but it's just a number you still don't get that use of Sugar entering the cells...

Another great video! I am looking forward to a video on tests used to determine diabetes. Specifically tests used determining type 1 versus type 2. I would love a deep dive into the C-peptide test and the limitations of those tests. For instance, does a very long fast, say 20 hours, affect C-peptide results?

Does this mean even his high natural insulin production by his pancreas still needs the supplemental insulin injections? Also, he is on low carb diet with everything above and still hard to get the blood glucose reading below 150.

Type 1's can never stop taking insulin. Type 2's can in some cases, as their bodies still produce a little, but Type 1's can't produce any insulin at all. I hate taking my insulin, too, but there's nothing we can do about. If you stop taking insulin, your sugar levels will just keep rising until they become life threatening. As for the blurry vision, that happened to me, too. Your eyes have to adjust to the high sugar, so when your levels go normal again, your eyes struggle to catch up. It took about two weeks, but now my vision is back to normal. Don't worry about that unless more than a month passes, or if it continues to get worse. Good luck with your diagnosis. Takes some getting used to for sure

It’s gonna be hard but it can be done, try a vegan diet, stay away from grains in your diets, stay away from fruits that raises your sugar fast, stick to berries and apples, intense work out for at least 20 minutes a day. I wished I knew these things instead of just letting my doctor switch me to insulin they fail to tell people that once they put them on insulin or met Forman they turn people into diabetics, when was due to pregnancy and here we are 17 year later and finding out my doctor visits are $400 each without insurance, to many Incentives to keep people sick

Cut sugar as much as possible! I mean if you can literally consume ONLY veggies and water for 1 week, give it a try! Seriously. Reducing insulin intake as a type 1 diabetic is difficult af but it can be done. We need support/assistance to do so sometimes. However, when you don’t have a support system handy always remember you have mental strength! You can and will tell yourself NO when it comes to food(s) that DO NOT benefit your body!!

Try to reduce the amount of insulin you take by reducing your carbohydrate intake and salt intake

Type 1s will always need insulin. However, you can cut down on the amount of insulin you need through diet, exercise, etc.

A type 1 will always need insulin to live. You might be able to reduce the amount of insulin you have to take by taking carbs out of the diet.

I am a type 2 diabetic. I take insulin and I love it. I can eat some foods I love when taking insulin. Because I take insulin does not mean that I want more insulin. Insulin is a wonderful thing for Type 2 diabetics. Doc, if you were a diabetic - you would know what diabetics want and need. I am a diabetic for 29 years. I know.
