I started working out at the gym, exercising 3 times a week. Not long after that, I started getting nueropathy in my feet, (a terrible burning pain), due too high blood sugars, as a result of diabetes. So, I started doing intermittent fasting, 3 4o 5 times a week, of 12 to 16 hours per day! At the same time, I started taking B1, B12, B5, for the neuropathy. It has pretty much disappeared, Thank you , Jesus! I also have been drinking real lemon juice with water, all through out the day, and so far have lost 11 lbs. in 8 weeks time! A first for me! I also cut out sugary foods, most carbs, and try to primarily eat, veggies, fruit, protein, nuts, and seeds! I have given up most snacking. No matter where you are in your journey, it's never too late to start taking care of yourself. Don't give up! . God Bless everyone!

I am so disappointed about myself. My sugar level is going up and up day by day. I need advice. I want to bring my sugar level down and maintain from there. I have tried keto for almost 3 years and intermittent fasting. I was feeling good though sugar level was just below 10. Then I moved to low carb diet now I have lost control of my sugar levels . I don’t want medication but my nurse kept on saying I have to take medicine. Please advise. She asked me to take gliclazide.

Really important!! When I was first diagnosed we discovered that after a reasonable trial of metformin, I simply couldn't tolerate it. I had diarrhoea every day for 3 weeks. Awful. I was moved onto Gliclazide (UK) and have been on it for about 7 or 8 years. Had no problems but after this video I'm going to ask to come off them. My older brother has type 2 also and was recently moved from metformin to ozempic. He has a number of other health problems but he's finding it much better... And he is glad to be free of the awful flatulence associated with metformin!
I had no idea that gliclazide has such a devastating effect on the pancreas. I hope I'm not too late to benefit from a change. Thanks very much for the seriously vital info.

@sherribaker, I took Invokana several years ago, and within a week or so, I had a raging yeast infection that took about a month to clear up. A few years ago, my doctor put me on Jardiance. It started out great, and I lost weight pretty quickly. Alas, after about 3 or 4 months, I developed a much worse yeast infection. This one took more than 3 MONTHS to clear up. I was miserable, and I took so much Diflucan I now wonder if it will ever work for me again if I need it. I’m watching this video very carefully, because I am also on Glimiperide. I plan to ask my GP about this when I see him in a few weeks.

I'm on a strict keto diet and walk 4.5 miles a day, and take metformin, but my blood glucose is still 200 in the morning and stays around that all day. It goes up some when I eat and it comes back down to 200 and not below. I eat no carbs, yet it's still 200. After a 4 mile walk it may come down to 160, but it will rise back up to 200 within a couple hours. I just started glimeperide and after my walk I may be around 100. I've never been low. After a few hours my blood sugar rises to to about 150 as the glimepiride wears off. Glimepiride takes several hours to start lowering my blood sugar.

Hi, I was diagnosed with diabetes after a Heart attack in December 2020. My blood sugar was 21mmol/l, and my A1c was 12.6. I was prescribed 2000mg metformin in the form of 4-500mg tablets, and 10mg Gyburide in the form of 2-5mg tablets. I took these tablets for about 2 months, but kept having bouts of Hypoglycemia, so on my own I cut out the metformin all together. I now take I glyburide in the morning and one in the evening, and have had no more Hypoglycemic episodes since. My A1C is now 5.9 after 3 months. My doctor says that he can't believe my blood test results. He said it's as if you don't have diabetes at all. I have changed my diet. I eat no VEGETABLE OIL. I MEAN ZERO DROPS OF OIL. I EAT NO BREAD, PASTA, OR PIZZA. I do eat the toppings. I eat lots of meat chicken pork and beef along with lots of potatoes. No fried anything. My cholesterol dropped by ten points. I am not going to sell anyone anything. I just want people to learn how to get healthy by yourself. I am 6'1 and weigh 180 lbs. I have not added any weight to my body since being diagnosed with diabetes. JUST STOP EATING OIL BECAUSE IT CAUSES INSULIN RESISTANCE.

@@sandeepnerurkar4918 I would go get a blood test to measure your A1C. That will give you an indication of your consistent blood sugar levels over the last 3 month's. This will allow you to make a decision about if you can reduce your meds. Also if you have to drink any extra water throughout the day over and above what you drink with your food. That would most likely indicate you are still diabetic. If you can not control the urge to urinate every few hours that is also an indication that you are still diabetic. I hope this helps.

Hello Doctor, I started to look at diabetes in a whole different way after watching ur videos. I’m 44 yrs old from Thailand. I was diagnosed Type2 DM in January this year. The doctor prescribed Glipiside and Metformin and I hv had them since. After I learned that Glipiside has a so-called “whipping” effect on the pancreas as u mentioned, I’m started to get worried. My question to u is…if I stop taking Glipiside, will my pancreas remain the same and also how long before Glipiside is completely drained out from my system? Is there a way that I can check?
    Awaiting ur reply….

I am a Long haul truck driver. So metformin is out of the question for me because it turns me into a poop factory which is not acceptable for a truck driver who has to drive 11 hours a day and who works a 14-hour shift. I am on trulicity 3.0 and glemiripride 10 mg. I'm trying to not gain weight but sometimes I have to eat sugar to keep my sugar from getting too low. I try to make it fruit or something that at least has some nutritional value instead of candy bars and things like that. It seems to work. My blood sugar was in the 400s and 500s and now it stays in the 100ds. It took about 3 days to bring my sugar down to the 100s after I started this therapy. I hate it that I have to take glemiripride but as a truck driver I just really don't have a choice. I have tried trulicity by itself and it doesn't work well enough and it also ran me to the bathroom. When I paired it with glemiripride that all stopped thank heaven. I tried low carb but it is not possible to maintain on the road because there are no food choices other than meat and salad. If I could be at home and cook for myself I could manage low carb very well but because I'm on the road I just can't do it. I hate that I'm beating on an already tired pancreas I wish there were other options for me and my lifestyle but so far no luck. I definitely have to check my sugar more especially before bed. I did enjoy the video however and I really appreciate the information
