Thanks for the real tour. Opening every cabinets and lockers et … I own a lagoon 42, looking forward to buy a leopard 42. Good review, best review I guess. Cheers
You know I have to say, usually we get these reviews and the reviewer is in heaven but I like how you call out some shortcomings or design flaws. Basically the honesty.
Yes this video was so incredibly informative! Thank you for going over so many places on this beautiful boat! I just loved meeting you two at the Annapolis boat show😎
Hi Kim!! We LOVED meeting you as well!! Thanks for saying hello. We look forward to following your journey too. Please stay in touch. I am glad the video was informative too!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great meeting you at the fuel dock in Deltaville yesterday. Awesome review of the Leopard 42. We saw it last week in Annapolis also and love that model. What a great vessel. Safe travels to Abaco!
Great video! I really love how you went through everything so thoroughly. Especially because he bought one this weekend! Our dream is officially in motion. We were the couple who ran into you at the FP area. Delivery 2023, June.
Thank you, Mike (Is that right?) CONGRATS on the purchase of the L42!! I am SO glad we ran into you at the FP area and I think Brown suggested (rigorously) to go look at the L42! HA! We are thrilled for you and cannot WAIT to share an anchorage with you! Stay in touch and let us know if we can help you in any way! Thanks for watching the video and commenting too! We really appreciate it.
Great review! Nice boat! I agree with 99% of your impressions. The saloon comes with the large table as well (the Leopard rep told me when I asked about it). But I love the 45. I think if I bought a 42, it would bug me every time I went out the forward saloon door...and did not have a forward cockpit! I think the forward cockpit will be the best shady spot with a breeze at anchor, and will be the most private place when in a marina. Great Review, keep up the good work. Love the channel. Can’t wait to follow you via RUclips on your circumnavigation!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. And, thanks for the information you provided. It was impossible to ask questions while we were there as 20 seconds into the convo with the rep, they were called away! HA! I hope that no one puts a HUGE table in the salon. It really eats up the space quickly. I AGREE with you - I love walking out front to a cockpit! It's shady and cool and if not, I go astern. The roof deck lounging area is incredibly limited in its use. If we ever upgrade, I would choose the L45 too.
@@SailingBlownAway yes, I would probably store the large saloon table. I see the upper lounge area being used at anchor at/after sundown. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Brown!
@@justsmy5677 Good move! I would do the same. The upper area for sundowners would be perfect! Thanks for the birthday wishes! It's been a great day...we splashed!
Loved this comparison, you view as a live aboard on your 44 has been eye opening to the small detail i wouldn't have thought about before buying a new leopard
Hello my dear friends! How are you? What a beauty of a boat Super job with this review. Love the way how you commented it. Can’t wait for more reviews. See you soon. Cheers from Canary Islands. ❤️
Hello Carlos!! We love hearing from you. Thank you for your comments and for watching too. Thanks for your positive feedback. We appreciate it. Hope to see you soon too! Take care of yourselves.
Wow you guys are on the ball in getting this video out in real time the show has just finished a day ago. Hell that 42 is amazing but to be honest I still love the 44 . Leopard really go the extra mile when producing a boat I need to keep taking those lotto numbers ⛵️😂😂😂😂
Thank you, Ian for your kind words! Ha - yes, we did rush it to get this done! Leopard is doing a great job producing these boats but like you we need to play lotto too! HA! Sticking with our L44!
@@toshiespeaks2609 Ha! We do too!! It was GREAT to meet you at the show. Thank you for saying hello. Next time, Brown gets in on it. He was so disappointed not to meet you! Let's hope for a fruitful lottery this year!
When it rains, we stack the cushions on the rear cockpit table or bring them inside to keep them from getting mildew. What we really need to do is have a rear cockpit enclosure made so we can block out rain ☔️ and leave out the cushions which will make that area so much more livable in foul weather.
It was nice chatting with you at the entry line to the Boat Show. Thanks for a very in depth review of the Leopard 42 as well as the pros and cons comparison to the Leopard 44. You found and pointed out a few things I missed. My Admiral also comment about the near useless notch access at the foot of the mattress. I must say prior to boarding the 42 I wasn’t a fan of the coachroof lounge but given it’s low profile and relatively minor impact to helm visibility I could see having a morning coffee or a sundowner up there. The sky light is nice but given the number and size of all the other surrounding windows I think it’s unnecessary and impractical for boom access. The draft on the L42 is 5 more inches more then the 44, at 4’7” rather deep for a cat 😕, and I think it’s just a foot shorter (LOA) then your Leopard 44. With all that being said I am really impressed and interested in the Leopard 42 and will include it on my list to Santa. BTW What is the displacement of your 44? I found two different weights listed, 2711 lbs and 32930 Lbs? Brown commented on the large 45hp engines on the 42. Do you feel like you could use more hp? What speed do you power cruise at? Thanks for all your time and effort you put into a great review of the leopard 42.
Hi Tony!! We loved getting to meet you in person. Thanks for stopping and saying hello! And, thanks for all of your help with great anchorages! Wow...you found a few things we did not! Well done. I didn't realize the draft was 4'7". That's almost a foot more than ours and I agree, is quite deep for a cat. Yes, the 42 is a foot shorter in length than ours. I agree with you on your assessment of some of the features mentioned. And, your Admiral is a smart one! HA! Our displacement is almost 20k pounds. We looked it up the day in our manual as we wanted to know what we weighed, approximately. But, after shopping at Costco, we may be closer to 40k now! HA! As for the 45hp engines, I think every cruiser likes having the get up and go, especially the captain but our 39's do just fine. We normally only run one if we are motoring and can average around 4.5-5 knots if we are not nose to wind or fighting a current. We can do 6knots with two going, typically. Thanks again for your comments. Next time we need to meet your Admiral!
What’s your thoughts on Elba 45? Seems a decent sail performer & interior design nicer than other production cats but I here FP’s customer service is non existent.
Thanks for asking. Every boat has its great points and it’s not so good features! Customer service is helpful, but most of your assistance will come from fellow FP owners. We always recommend buying used as it’s fully depreciated and you don’t struggle with warranty issues and fights.
Yes, you are right. Much of what was displayed were options. Good point. Thanks for watching and commenting. The helm seat should have a footrest! We agree!
Hate the roof. Nice for charter guests who like skin cancer, but as a private yacht I see very limited use, and it occludes solar space and deck access to boom.
Yes, I agree. It's pretty but impractical for private use space. And, as you said, it reduces the space for solar panels (WAY more important) and boom access!

Great review, I am taking delivery of mine this Sept. Just rented a Lagoon 45 in the BVI's and hate the sail plan, but the boat was comfortable.

The wooden table is an option. It is not standard. But agree, Leopard need place to rest feet at helm.

The lack of a proper front cockpit for just the walk through is a shame.
