New to the buying marked, if I by a sailboat, lets say in France or South Africa, and have the boat registered in BVI or other convenience flags( Poland etc.) , do I have to pay sales tax in the country where I buy the boat? Thanks :-)

Hello, Thank you for the question. Our customers are looking at several solutions after-market to try to erradicate the use of the genset. It is a challenge, especially when it comes to power hungry systems like aircon, even with soft starts etc...Integrel offers a solution with genarators attached to the engines. Integrel and other solutions have not yet been fully tested by R&C and Travelopia Yachts (Moorings/Sunsail/Leopard catamarans) and have not yet been approved. They are available directly by the vendors, after-market....not from the factory. R&C/THL only offer options that are fully tested and proven, as well as covered by Warranty. R&C and EOM (Yanmar and other systems). We are continuing to look at these solutions and had testing programs in place, including with Integrel (at the charter bases - tests in real conditon on a boat over a long period of time). Covid-19 has certainly delayed these testing programs, that are now pushed later in 2021 and beyond for obvious reasons. Lithium battery packages and associated chargers/inverters are available as an option from the factory. I hope this answers your question. Franck Bauguil
@@fbauguil Thanks your reply, I do agree that new systems of importance should be tested before it comes out as standards or as an option after sales, but looks like Balance has it in their program now. Maybe they have tested it more :-)
