  • In Madagascar, malaria remains a significant health challenge. The country is particularly vulnerable to climate change and the number of people suffering from malaria has more than doubled since 2000.
In Ikongo district, where MSF is present, local communities are facing a double crisis of malaria and child malnutrition, worsened by geographical obstacles. Accessing healthcare becomes particularly challenging during the peak malaria season which coincides with the yearly rainy and cyclone seasons. During this time, the lives of sick children are further at risk, as they cannot always reach treatment on time.
