I’ve had my Max since it was released but in all those years I never really explored the looper, but last week some circumstances dictated that I start using it. I couldn’t really find any good tutorials and then this got posted. Great timing! Also nice that Eventide still keeps giving with the H9…even though there’ll be no more new algorithms.
love this tutorial. thank you. one of the unsung features of the H9, had no idea how powerful this looper is. being able to control all of those parameters with the Control App while still using your feet to loop is very powerful.
The only thing I dislike about my H9 is that I only have one at the moment lol. I do plan on adding another to the last in my chain or next to last on my stereo rig. I love having one set up in pre/post too much to move it back now.
Not only does the H90 feature a looper like the H9, it also improves upon it by offering 60 seconds of stereo recording instead of H9’s 12 seconds in mono. It features the same loop variability and real-time adjustment capabilities. The H90 also has a 1-button looper option available in Perform mode.
Once the Looper algorithm is loaded the right footswitch serves to stop the loop after the recording/dub/play is started. A double press empties the loop. If you hold down the right ftsw you enter preset search mode where you can move to another preset.
I don’t understand why people think this of the H9. That’s what the apps for. You also get an added plus you don’t have to kneel down to tweak anything.
any external controller with knobs and sliders can be used to control functions. You can use the H9 app to link the controller output to the H9 using CCs
This looper has so many interesting functions, that you should build a dedicated single pedal, like the dot9 serie
Love the H9 and love these videos. Even after years of owning I find new things. Best pedal out there. Keep supporting it !

Nice thanks. The H9 looper is nuts

I didn’t know H9 could do all these. Amazing! This is not “Basic” :)
Yeah! A David Torn-approved looper, with features so classic (old) that they’ve come full circle 🔁 and yet are still ahead of the times ♾.
Thanks very much for doing this - both the video, and the pedal!
This needs to be its own pedal
Was thinking of buying a looper. Already owning this.
fantastic intro ! Thanks!
Can you run the other effects from the H9 while using the looper?
No, the H9 can only operate 1 algorithm at a time. But you could do this using the H90.
Are all of these looper features carried over into the h90? From some of the h90 looper demos I’ve watched it seems this is not the case.

This looper is amazing but has such deep menu that it almost ruins it. If only there was a breakout box that had a physical knobs for adjustment.
Agreed, although H9 Control app does exactly that.
