This was absolutely Enjoyable! I got my H90 4 days ago, and I spent an hour or so this morning reading the pdf Manual, and about 4 hours just messing with it. I laughed out loud when you said at one point, "I don't know what I'm doing right now." because I said that a BUNCH of times. But I did learn a whole LOT about how it works by just messing with it, and your video added a whole LOT to what I had figured out earlier. Thank you for your spontaneity and helping me know that it's just gonna take some time and effort to really KNOW this most amazing Pedal I've ever owned! Have a Blessed day, and Congratulations on your getting married. (I hope she's OK with you spending the day with me. haha)
What a brilliant Demo! Thank you so much. The H90 is a fantastic effects unit. It has so much effects which are second to none. The unit screams quality and professionalism. Eventide H90 is simply brilliant. No brainier top notch unit.
Congratulations and thank you for taking the time on your special day to make this informative video. Looking forward to more of your thoughts and sounds on the H90 👍
thank you so much for this amazing video. i got mine yestarday and it really love it so far. you are right it worth every penny. this is for sure the best review and its gonna help me alot. i use it with my tele, synths and modular and it works amazing. much love and support from munich
Well I just got mine😎Thank God you made this video I am going to be using this in duel mode with my G2 switcher on loop 10( stereo/mono) And loop 7 mono I have the day to play with this, I will report back lol Thanks a MILLION!!!!
Well It's 3pm and I could gig with this tonight!! Lol Have it set up dual ,all midi is working and also 2 expression pedals I love how I can take each preset on my gigrig and use it in the fx loop, in and out of the fx loop and so on The sounds are very usable compared to the H9 out of the box I will share one thing When cabeling it ad Dual for A I am going input 1 output 1 For B input 4 and output 4 It shows it in the manual ( it has dotted lines showing you on page 2 for dual path to go in 4 and out 4 When I put B on in 2 and out 2 I got bleed over A little confusing but I figured it out, tested it and it works like a charm Thanks again man your video was soooo helpful😎😎🙂🎸
Awesome walkthrough! I want to put my amp in one loop, using the four cable method, and then a preamp pedal in another loop, so then I can toggle back-and-forth between whether I want to use the front of the amp, or just the return with the preamp pedal and bypass the preamp. I do that right now in my GT 1000 core, but I’m thinking of replacing that with the H 90 if you can do the same thing.
Congrats on the wedding! And thanks for the video. The H90 is a monster. And would get me closer to an awesome completely white rig. I still love my Marshall JMP-1, but with a Soldano SLO pedal, the Torpedo CAB, the DD-500 and my H9 and H90 I wouldn't need anything else.
You did your best explaining an overcomplicated interface. The issue is that Eventide sends their pedals to professional users who understand parameter settings, MIDI, recording, etc, when what they really need to do is get their hardware in the hands of regular consumers. Reminds me of the episode of Silicon Valley (HBO series) where the software developers sent the BETA version of their app to engineers for their feedback. Of course they loved it because they are ENGINEERS. Once they released the software to the public and regular consumers got their hands on it, they were completely confused. I love Eventide, but they need to reconsider their user interface and testing strategy. They really could be the Apple of the effects industry if they just put more thought into their user experience for regular, non-engineer users.
In a sense tho I’m so so sooo happy they allow it to be advanced for people willing to push the boundaries of effects. Maybe they could have advanced mode on and off as a solution then
@@familiarfaces_official I think people often mistake advanced features to mean that a product is complicated. User interface design and advanced features are completely separate. Apple accomplished doing both a super intuitive interface and an advanced product when they created the iPhone for example. You can have both advanced features and a user friendly interface if you get feedback from actual consumer-minded testers. Not engineers or pro recording technicians
It's not their intent to create the H90 for the layperson. We have TC for that. There is no efx unit in a pedal which is more advanced than this and if its too simple to make a "user friendly unit with advanced features" then please be our guest. Eventide are the masters in advanced efx and I highly doubt they cater mainly to us normal consumers, that's not the intent of this unit.
It’s not for everyone…just those who decide they wanna put in the work. Are we so lazy these days that if it’s not automatically “easy peasy” navigation, we just give up?? You miss out on good things that way…
@@evenstephen2000 I wouldn't say it's laziness. But I would say that if you could make a better, more intuitive user experience, why not? H90 is still my all-time favorite pedal either way.
Thank you for the Video. Did try to run my distortion pedal like you had on I/O 3, to get clean delay, but my distortion pedal did not sound good anymore.?
Congratulations to your wedding Mr. EytschPi and im sorry to Leslie ;p Does she own half of your guitars now? Or half of each one? :) gz and thx for that in depth video!
''Do not think that your H90 comes with dog hair'' ... Henning we have a Husky.... EVERYTHING in our house comes with dog hair, the other day I had to open up my Helix because there was dog hair UNDERNEATH the expression pedal 😂😂 ....It's all good tho, I love her haha
Absolutely incredible review, thank you! Do you know if the hotswitch functions be assigned to/controlled by MIDI on the H90? If I remember rightly on the H9, this could only be done with an AUX switch using the pedal settings.
Deine Ohrläppchen glühen! ☝️🤣P. S. Danke für das Review! Warte sehnlichst auf den H90, den ich mit Amp1 oder Jvm410 verwenden werde. P. P. S. Ein deutsches Review wäre auch mal cool. Grüße aus der westlichsten Gemeinde D's.
Congratulations - You said we'd be hard pressed to find something it doesn't do but I can't find an envelope filter which I need to be in this all in one unit. Any advice?
Congratulations to you and Mrs HP42 on your nuptials! Quick question on routing: I’m running two amps dual mono (‘TPS wet/dry’) where I split the signal after my drives, with the wet line going into a Halo and then the H90. I’m getting significant latency on the delays (e.g. it’s a no-no for Edge-style parts). I assume this is due to the lack of analog dry-through (I don’t get noticeable latency from the Halo). I know you can do wet/dry routing inside the H90, and this does fix the latency issue. But it also means - as far as I can tell - that you lose the dry amp any time you disengage the H90 (i.e. there is literally no dry signal coming out of the amp unless you have an H90 program in use). Appreciate any guidance on workarounds, if there is one. Thanks as always foe the deep dive in this video.
I think you could do a parallel loop and simple connect the out to the in and that would give you a dry parallel path. If the H90 is off you would get the dry signal through and the H90 won't do anything... so that should work fine.
I would lvoe to see an extended demo of this pedal in mono. Everything is in stereo, because it's great in stereo, but what about mono? Is it still worth it? How does it sound?
I can't get into the specifics of this processor. I stared at the glowing earlobes. That aura of the holy guitarist? Or a sign of heavenly hearing? Impossible to tear my eyes away...)))
So I’ve pulled the trigger , and I’ve got it home .. plugged it in mono into the amp I have at home (Supro) !! Don’t sound great ! Maybe they don’t like each other !! Do I need another amp ? What do you suggest ,,,,🤘
Hello again Henning. I am still a bit confused about the H90 regarding making a new patch with the many choices of effects etc. Can I make a patch and call it 100 or do I have to use one of the existing 1 to 99 patches and overwrite it? Also , say I just wanted to use a looper by itself or use a combination of two loopers how do I choose A looper B Looper or any other effect. Thank you in advance. Sorry if you may have already explained this in the video but I am old and slow 😉 as I want to find shortcuts any way I can so I can really make this unit give me the results I am looking for.
1. are u able to change amp channel with this ? (my marshall has midi) 2. if i want to also use a strymon timeline and the h90 does the strymon have to be in one of the 2 inputs of the h90 u said ? 3. can i assign the 3 footswitches of the h90 for example: footswitch 1: program 1 of the h90(2 algorithms) + preset no32 of the strymon timeline + marshall amp channel 2 + external overdrive boss pedal on. (meaning in general... would i need a boss es5 looper pedal to change all that or is it possible with just the h90 ? 3 footswitches, 3 custom presets then change bank and got another 3 and so on...

The display looks very 1992 to me, I don’t know that unit, I have an es8 that has similar display type and is so annoying to program . Looking at the video it looks better than the es8(I know it’s two totally different units but my point is that they should develop a little more their interfaces). I stoped buying that type of pedals since I’m already covered but came to see what’s on the market and stumbled on that pedal. Interesting pedal even if I hate organ like sounds it can do other cool things. The drive doesn’t sound too good to me neither.delays verbs and modulations seems nice

When cabeling it ad Dual for A I am going input 1 output 1
For B input 4 and output 4
It shows it in the manual ( it has dotted lines showing you on page 2 for dual path to go in 4 and out 4

I got bleed over
