Seriously; blush, peach, light pink, light grey, off white, eggshell, ivory, whatever, doesn’t matter. If it’s a color that could conceivably be mistaken for white, DON’T WEAR IT TO A WEDDING!!!!!

Yes! My wedding dress had white lace but the underskirts were a light champagne/pink! And I coordinated my bridesmaids dresses to compliment it. All of my lovely guests showed up in greens, blues, blacks and yellows! When in doubt, just ask!

@@ZStitchDisneyFan I tried on a pale blue dress to go to a wedding. It looked fine in the dressing room lights but as I left the cubicle my friend gasped. In the light of the shop it had gone from a pale blue to a bright white. I just. Chose something else. I'd looked nice in it but I'm not risking it. Went with a black one with navy flowers and it looked way more formal.

I think it depends on what kind of wedding it is too. Indoors you can get away with it, outdoors no not really. I think a problem is that not everybody is fashion savvy, and when fashion faux pas happen; people need to know/ have this in mind. That lady that said the woman wants to sue her, unfortunately she can win if the dress is not indeed white. Unfortunately, just because the lighting plays tricks, doesn’t change the actual color of the dress. The bride should’ve thought to ask the person to see the dress up close before making that statement. This is why people ask party goers to wear certain types of colors, tones, styles etc. to events; depending on the venue and theme.

As a designer and dressmaker, a couple of months ago a friend aske me to customize one of my designs for her to wear to a wedding. She was between light blue (pastel) or aqua/tiffany (kind of that shade between green and blue) we realised that, as lovely as the light blue fabric was, in daylight and photographs it might look waaaaay to close to being white and decided that the more greenish hue was more appropriate and just as pretty. My wedding ended up being canceled because me and my fiance ended things (wont get into that)... so flash forward a year later. My Aunt is throwing a wedding for her son. It's my freaking wedding. Everything I planned down to a T. She stole the whole idea... I still went because it's not my cousins fault. We worked at the same company for 2 years, and I can't count the number of people who would ask if we were a couple, if we were married, if not then how we should be. Our favorite response to "How long have you been together?" was whatever age I was, since I'm the youngest. 🤣🤣🤣 The people who recognized our last names matched, always assumed we were married. The ones who didn't, were obsessed with trying to get us together. We didn't keep it secret that we were blood related. And honestly, we literally looked very related. Thank God our parents wrote who was who on our baby pictures, because they look exactly the same, taken 6 1/2 years apart. 🤣
My oldest son, who also looks incredibly like me, was frequently mistaken for being my boyfriend or husband. And my youngest son (there's a 6y age gap, and my youngest didn't really grow much until he turned 16, while my oldest hit 6' by age 14) was mistaken as being "ours". 🤢 and 🤔 and 🤣🤣🤣 To be fair, my oldest liked his hair longer, and it's thick and bushy. He also had an instant talent for growing a super thick beard, and basically looked like Grizzly Adams (look it up). 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The only wedding drama I have taken part in, really not by choice was at my sisters wedding. My nan is kind of... Well, an entitled witch. My sister decided to have a small ceremony at her own house, my nan hijacked pretty much everything. The wedding dress, the decorations, the food, how everything was set up. My sister was quite distraught the night before, so me and her now sister in law; stayed up all night and rearranged everything to how my sister wanted it. To say my nan was salty would be an understatement, she was pissed. And before anybody asked, my nan isn't somebody you can just say no to. For reference, she threw a tantrum because she wasn't able to park in the drive way, the grooms parents (who owned the house at that time) wanted to park in their own drive way. She ended up leaving early, over another tantrum involving not being able to light her big propane heaters, it would have burned the house down. Speaking of burning the house down, the candles she chose for decoration (floating candles that floating in oil or something) set fire to the garden three seperate times, because my nan kept relighting them. After that, my nan didn't speak to us for a very blissful 17 months; so i guess we won in the end

As a daughter of seamstress, this is a kind of color used for bridal dress especially for women who are conscious of not being a virgin but still wants to wear white but not being a hypocrite. 😂😂😁😁 IT IS WHITE. From her own words, "peach undertone" meaning white with hint of peach. By the way, for Philippine weddings, usually godparents use white (rami, philippine piña silk, jusi etc). So when you are going to invite a Filipina as godmother, you have to remind her not to wear white.

So I was recently at this wedding for my boyfriend’s family and there was this girl who thought she was the main character at someone else’s wedding. Like, HUUUUUGE Main Character energy.
Now granted, I was at a wedding where I didn’t know many people, least of all this girl. Not knowing her name, I will refer to her as Bailee.
Now, this wedding had a HUGE wedding party. I believe there were at least 6 people on each side for the groom and bride. However, despite how concerningly invested Bailee was in the whole event, Bailee was not in the wedding party nor was she at the family table where the mother of the groom and the rest of my boyfriend’s family were seated. She was, however, at the front of the crowd for every “special moment”. You name it: the First Dance, the Father-Daughter Dance, the Mother-Son Dance, the second Father-Daughter dance (the groom and his year-old daughter, who was the cutest flower girl I’ve ever seen), and all of the toasts. Any time the crowd got up to put attention on the dance floor, there was Bailee, front and center.
It was weird to say the least but not nearly as weird when this absolute stranger started making comments to me during these events. What kind of comments? Glad you asked:
Her: “Ohhhh, aren’t they just so cute?”
Me: (smiles and nods politely) “Mhmm, they’re a lovely couple.”
Her: “I wish I had someone like that.”
    Me: (smiles in uncomfortable silence)
Her: “Don’t they just make you wish you weren’t single?”
Me: (already holding my boyfriend’s hand, uncomfortable silence increases)
She continued to make side comments throughout the night to me, a complete stranger. Also, she never introduced herself or attempted to meet me. Why would she? She’s obviously the main character at this wedding. It was the weirdest thing I’d ever had happen.
Also, in the spirit of fun, I was at the bar ordering a “Giggity” on the Beach and an elderly woman was ahead of me in line. She overheard me place my drink order and said, “Enjoy it, honey, I was young once.” before sauntering back to her table from the bar like an absolute queen. 😂 I hope I’m as sharp and witty as that woman when I’m old some day.

For precaution, let's stay away from dresses that are off white, pale grey, soft pink or light flesh tone. Let's also look at the dress color from a distance of 10-20 feet away before deciding if it's too easily mistaken for white. And the lighter the color, the shorter it should be. It will also look much lighter if you're around anyone in anything darker even if it doesn't look white next to an actual white dress. It doesn't have to be mini dress or something so short you're constantly checking to make sure it's not riding up, just not ankle or floor length is all. Not only because of getting the dress dirty but it feels less bridal and still wedding appropriate if a non-bride wears a dress that isn't to the ankles or floor. Also, if it's a light color, stay away from lace. Weddings are an opportunity to wear really fun dresses that are formal but can still be colorful if you aren't a bridesmaid.
Is it white? My answer: It's white enough for me. Yes.

Agree! Thats how I see weddings as well. It's about TWO people and their respective families merging together to celebrate romance and have a good time. The Bride and Groom definitely set the mood and are the focus, but I would say its far from being 'all about me [aka, the bride]".
That said, some effort should go to making sure the bride AND GROOM both get plenty of respect all night long and making sure everyone is helping keep the mood happy and focused on their union. Wearing white to stir up drama or making big announcements that have everyone gossiping just prior is disrespectful af. But I don't think I would be so immature to think that a breakup someone else had (even if it was between my parents) was suddenly all about taking attention away from me. Shit happens. If it can wait, absolutely try to make it work for a few days or keep things lowkey until afterwards. But the world and life for others absolutely doesn't stop just bc your sweet little innocent face is about to get married.
The less you think the world revolves around you regardless of what day it is, the happier you will be.

I ended up buying a new, shorter dress that was black with red and beige florals instead because I didn't want to even get CLOSE to the line. My wedding was fcking nuts, I’ll tell you all the best moments from annoying to bat sh!t crazy.
One of my crazy aunts stole of the leftover food at my wedding, she didn’t eat all day even after we offered her food (it was for everyone and self serve so you just grab it yourself) and she refused. My mother was really mad about this since she had done this before (at my holy communion and conformation) so she slashed her tires.
My BIL tripped on the stairs, as he was walking up the stage to make his speech, and busted his chin open. Blood was everywhere but he insisted on still doing his speech, it was amazing and by far the best one. Afterwards he allowed people to help him but had to be rushed to the hospital, he gave us all a big hug goodbye and apologised for having to leave early. He was all fine but we didn’t hear from him until the end of the wedding which made my husband and MIL panic. I got my husband to calm down which upset his mother, she said he should be panicking and upset because his brother had just been taken to the hospital while he was here with me who was not important.
My twin sister tried to blackmail her bf into proposing to her at my wedding, she kept whispering to him the whole wedding and he kept moving away from her (which was weird af, he was really in love with her). They’ve been together almost 10 years, they got together when I met my husband. My sister has been making it very clear leading up to my wedding that she is mad I’m getting married before her even though she’s been with her man longer). Then during my husband’s and I’s first dance my sister’s bf suddenly SCREAMED at my sister, saying very loudly that he was not going to proposing to her at my wedding (he knew I’d be p!ssed) and that he was never proposing to her period. My sister ran out in tears and he awkwardly left, I told him to stay and that I wasn’t too bothered by the outburst (I would rather an outburst than another proposal, also I’m proud of him for not letting my sister pressure him) but sadly he said he had to leave and just left. When he left he was crying too.

My sister and her husband had jobs and decided they were ready. My sister-in-law never resented my sister because she was married before my brother proposed to her.
