This story is a gut-punch reminder that racism doesn’t just live in the shadows-it’s right in front of us, sometimes in the very spaces we think we’ve overcome it. The fact that Evelyn, an elderly Black woman, had to face this kind of humiliation in her own son’s restaurant speaks volumes about how deeply ingrained prejudice is, even when it’s unjustifiable. But what’s more powerful is Evelyn’s refusal to stay silent. She’s spent a lifetime fighting for justice, and this moment wasn’t just about personal pride-it’s about exposing the ongoing rot of racism. The waiter’s actions aren’t just the behavior of one person, but a reflection of a larger, systemic issue that too many people still want to sweep under the rug. The viral nature of the incident isn’t just about public shaming-it’s about accountability, and it’s a wake-up call that even in so-called 'progressive' spaces, the fight against racism is far from over

The waiter CLEARLY told her, out LOUD for EVERYONE in the restaurant to hear, that he DIDN'T care who she is, that she and people like her... didn't belong there and to go back to where she belonged. It didn't matter to him. At the end he left and wouldn't even apologize even when he found out who she was. Racism is strong and NOTHING can persuade people like this to acknowledge that they're wrong.
I'm a white woman, American born in Germany after WWII, as was my older sister. My father fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. We lived on military bases in several countries. There were all races, it was normal. My 1st boyfriend (who didn't know it 👻) was Victor Wiggins the star baseball player of the school I attended in France, and our neighbors' oldest child. They were a wonderful loving black family. When we came to America I was disgusted by how people here treated other human beings based on their color, race, religion, income. As soon as I was old enough I joined the Navy so I could return to sanity and be with real Americans. Now I'm 70, and am still disappointed in how people here treat each other. Do better!
SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY. IT IS SAD THAT HE MESSED THAT UP FOR HER. I HOPE HE LEARNED A LESSON. WE DONT LIKE RACIST. 😡 SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PROUD WOMAN AND HANDLED THAT WELL.😍HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
But, the son hired this Waiter, If Evelyn son owns this restaurant didn't he inform his staff my mom who should be known to the staff be known. Isn't her picture in his office on his desk or wall. These stories are great But, too much is missing.
A few years ago, a black friend and I were going out to lunch. Although I look white, I am native American. The waitress agreed to seat me but not my friend. I told the waitress that we were not staying and we walked out together. We found another restaurant to dine. I told my friend that the horrible woman was not going to spoil our day together. Getting angry or making a scene would not have fixed bad manners.
The owner shouldn’t have had to fire the waiter, the manager should have immediately once he realized what the waiter had done and treated the customer. He should have done it regardless of whether or not the customer was his boss’ mother. The owner should have reprimanded him, too.
In this part of the video he talks about a black elderly woman who frequently came to the restaurant by herself, or with family or friends, which made her a regular and as for me,I have my favorite places to eat as they know me already my likes and dislikes on the menu or there daily specials, but one thing I noticed is that the prices on there standing menu has jumped up 400%,which I don't understand, as some people or families are tourist s,which I am not as I have been in NYC a little over 40 years now, whether it be Chinatown, or queens it's the same thing, and whether I charge it, I will pay in cash and I usually will tip the waitress or waiter,as they appreciate it as some customers don't tip at all, but I don't say anything, it's there choice, not mine so I keep my comments to myself as I am going to a street fair in REGO PARK, as I used to work there at different restaurants, all casual places, and there's no fine dining places in the area.
For some people, it IS a career--especially upscale and/or ethnic restaurants in large cities in the US, Europe, Asia, South America, etc. Your statement sounds very arrogant AND naive!
Amazon Alexandra (FBI Agent): Do not worry ma'am, I am an undercover FBI Agent disguised as a waitress going undercover in this restaurant. I know I protect everyone for such uncalled racism nonsense. Elderly Woman: Thanks, Agent Alexandra, I know you are a salvation to me.
Y'all. He admits he makes up these stories. I don't want to waste time on fairy tales. Hard pass. We should all behave decent towards each other without made up stories.
This is not real! Who has their mom come to the restaurant that their son owns it not be set for her! He also said everybody at the restaurant knows her. by the way a black woman would have let him have it! 😂
We do not know what the plan by her son was. It could also have been the decision of mother and son to behave in a quiet, unassuming way. That is actually better, had the waiter known who she was, he would have acted. Without prior knowledge, he showed his true colours! PVEL.
I have learned just a few years back, what parents have to say to their children to be safe, because of their coloured skin. I was stunned. But how sadly did I understand why. Yep !!! Even now on the verge of 2025.

It didn't matter to him. At the end he left and wouldn't even apologize even when he found out who she was. Racism is strong and NOTHING can persuade people like this to acknowledge that they're wrong.
They wanted him to get his well earned come uppance. It has been his behavior all along!!
@@kimberlymilner4639 but he really really did not know who she was 🤣🤣nice story tho
@@ericab936So what if he didn't know who she was? That's no way to treat anyone. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
We are NOT GOING BACK 😢😢😢😢😢
I'm just letting people know this happens on both sides. We should come together as people . Think from our hearts
Well said.
At what both sides does this happen to and what people are you referring to
Be careful when you meet strangers....they may be your end.
The owner didn't tell the manager that he was celebrating his mother's birthday bs bs bs
I'm surprised James did not fire the manager as well.
Why wasn’t James already there to have dinner with his Mother on her birthday? That point ruins the story.
waiters do not have seating authority
Definitely needs to be fired
Only treat Big tippers with respect.
Sad 😢, disrespectfully 😔 distasteful.
The same old story it is difficult to find a nwe one !😊
Waiting tables is a job but not career.
For some people, it IS a career--especially upscale and/or ethnic restaurants in large cities in the US, Europe, Asia, South America, etc. Your statement sounds very arrogant AND naive!
If he was a waiter, he had no career. Just a job. Stop it!
Nature will deal with wicket people by storms or hurricane
Y'all. He admits he makes up these stories. I don't want to waste time on fairy tales. Hard pass. We should all behave decent towards each other without made up stories.
Mrs. Evelyn? 😊
Peoplr would rather put in the work to hate, than just to love and accept
This story would be better if it weren’t for all the incorrect captions/words.
Stop treating black people like this.
This is not real! Who has their mom come to the restaurant that their son owns it not be set for her! He also said everybody at the restaurant knows her. by the way a black woman would have let him have it! 😂
So where were the other known waiters. This young man should have known the mother would be there for a special occasion.
We do not know what the plan by her son was. It could also have been the decision of mother and son to behave in a quiet, unassuming way. That is actually better, had the waiter known who she was, he would have acted. Without prior knowledge, he showed his true colours! PVEL.
Poor story line, the narrator said she new all the employees, so are all employees new and if not no one said she’s the owners mother
Highly exaggerating. Waiters are not supposed to judge customers
❤❤❤🎉
I have learned just a few years back, what parents have to say to their children to be safe, because of their coloured skin. I was stunned. But how sadly did I understand why. Yep !!! Even now on the verge of 2025.
RACIALISM ALL OVER THE WORLD WIDE NATIONS AND COUNTRIES VERY PAINFULL ESPECIALLY FOR OLDER PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WIDE NOTHING IS BEING DONE WITH THIS FOR YEARS!
I wouldn't let one person cause so much chaos. Systemic is not one person in a restaurant. This is reaching.
The manager needed to be fired. He knew who she was, should have come over with you're fired right away. He was excusing what the waiter did by not firing him right away.
So this is an original story - as in you wrote all bt yourself...but it isn't real, just fictioon - BLOCKED
No we are not going back
Lawd you mean this is still going on, who told him not to serve blacks. Was it his idea are was told to do so. He should never get a job in a Resturant
again. Just to think what he can do to black people’s food. My God
Respect is paramount anywhere...the waiters condescending attitude is terrible...don't judge people by colour
