@@TheresaCaldwell-dd7up God created 18 different nations. You can't be black and mixed with white. You are of your father's seed ( sperm) Numbers 1:18. Stories like this hurt my heart. Older white woman here. 3 sons by Filipino father. We became aware of a young man who had no where else to go. We became his foster family. He was a light skinned black guy but he had no relationship with his white father who killed his black mother when he was just a kid. 20 years later our boy is set to legally become ours. He's faced some challenges over the year and it infuriates me but I can't change others minds. I can only treat him as my son like his brothers.

I completely agree-Darius’s journey from humble beginnings to building a successful empire is so motivating. It’s amazing how he used his experience to stand up for himself and show Ethan that discrimination has no place in his stores. It’s not just about his success, but how he made sure his values were reflected in his business. I have to ask-if you were in Darius’s shoes, would you have handled the situation the same way, or would you have confronted Ethan differently?
I grew up very poor and people hated on me even in my own family...when you are hated it truly hurts...my hubby has beautiful brown skin and he too has faced prejudice...it is hard for me to understand how people can so easily hate others...i am not and have never been racist and if anyone makes hate comments to me i have nothing to do with them even family...I stand for unconditional love and against all hate
This is outrageous! Imagine being kicked out of your own store. It’s satisfying to see justice served, but it really makes you think about the prejudice still present today. How can we prevent such discrimination from happening in the first place?
When someone in a position of authority uses their power to demean others based on race, it's a deep betrayal of trust. Regret is a step toward accountability, but the harm caused leaves lasting scars
Darius's story about racism and social prejudice is part of a life journey that many don't experience and worse yet are ignorant and refuse to engage God's command to love and respect all people. His application of his faith and wisdom is the blast of truth and commitment that all of our citizens need to secure our constitutional rights and improve our democracy. Practicing fairness to all of our diverse culture blesses our nation and makes us great! -----Michael
I don’t concur with your commentary. It’s mindset like yours that keeps the unlearned from being educated on racism and social prejudices because you think that it’s not a part of life that many don’t experience. As a black woman, my people have been discriminated against and abused and treated poorly from many Ethan’s types in this world. Because of the lack of knowledge of GOD, people are who they serve. Your words prove that you are a lost hope and a very religious person.
I had that happened to me with the manager of a store new opening.Only later, the manager found out i was the designer and was the head of the high-end store top of the line shoe in the manufacturing department from the President of the company.
it's not just stores you get judged in ,it's restaurants, out for a swim at pools out , around the river , or BBQs men themselves get judged for being out and about thought of as oeodophiles yet there just , doing daily things like walks or out with there dog ,etc judgement is out there everywhere in all places
This situation highlights not only the persistence of racism but also the complete disregard for the rights and dignity of the shopkeeper. Such blatant discrimination must be condemned and addressed swiftly, ensuring accountability for those involved. It is a reminder of the systemic issues that continue to affect minority communities, highlighting the urgent need for better policies, education and social reform to combat racism in all its forms. Everyone deserves respect and equal treatment, regardless of race.
Why does some people think and feel that black people dont have what it take to own there own buiness not because a person is black dosent mean he /she dont have values are have the knowledge are widsom and understanding to do what soever he are she put their mind on it not fair god make evey one in his own image and shape but surely he did not give them diffetent blood no one know how your children colour will turn out but that dosent mean you should judge anyone by races and colour may god continue to bless the person who write these amazing story very touching intresting and most of all full of great values and learn to respect each other no matter well the out skirt is yet to come good luck ❤❤❤
Some people look down on blacks because they fear anyone who doesn't look like them, others because they don't like the idea of someone they call inferior can excel especially if they didn't or they cling to the old idea that slavery abolishmentt didn't mean they have to give respect. No matter the excuse they need to get over it. BTW I 'm 81 and white.
Kudos to Darius. I have nothing but Respect. Ethan was humbled and learned a life long lesson. This needs to happen in all "high-end"stores when it comes to racist judgemental people.
I’m 90 years old, and as a senior staff scientist who worked for a major defense oriented corporation, and won many top awards, I am usually shown respect!
I really enjoyed this story I was very proud of the CEO cause he didn't FIRE the young man at that point. He let him know that you are not to judge people for what they have on .And you don't approach people like you are better then them .A very good lesson to be learned Never judge the book by its cover
I enjoyed this story very much and admired the way the store owner handled the issue with his manager and the rest of the staff. They definitely needed some more training.
I maybe white but I am a large fluffy lady.. and I get that disrespect, I get that discrimination. This story warmed my heart, because Darius used this opportunity to not only help someone grow, but to show the rest of his company how to treat people correctly! He could have easy just fired Ethan and be done with it, but it wouldn't have sent a message to the rest of his employees, and the way he went about it was respectful and allowed communication and dignity to be shared.
It’s ashamed the way people treat others that don’t visually meet their narrow standards. I’ve been fluffy most of my life so I can relate to discrimination on that end and as a black woman. Being unique is what makes us special. Like you said this story is definitely educational for me.
This is a good owner he could have let him go but he dodent the owner gave wisdom on respect and fairness about treating everyone right no matter what skin One is in we all must be open to a teachable experience to help one a better person wisdom let it in ❤❤❤
What's the old saying, "Two wrongs don't make it right". I hope he remained with the company, continued to understand his actions, grow as an individual and on a professional level. You will never break the cycle, his behavior, attitude by doing nothing...or worse, firing him. I applaud the owner and his actions. The results are what we all hope, pray for...CHANGE.
I agree-Nevertheless Mr. Darius made the Greatest statement he wanted him to learn from this and for his company employees to do and be better; being fired would be to easy and if/when he got employed by another company he would bad mouth the company he got fired from and make it known it's everyone else that has the issue and not him. Even if he doesn't last a month he can still bad mouth the company, but a seed has been planted, whether he heeds to it or not.
Something like this happened to me in 1994. I saw a brand new red Ford mustang I wanted to buy. Stopped into dealership, walked in and stood on the sales floor like 10 minutes. No one was busy, they all looked at me, but not one of them approached me. They couldn't miss me, I'm 6 ft tall and the only black person in there. In fact there were maybe one or two other people in the big showroom. Finally , this thin tall whyt guy came from the back office and asked if anyone was helping me? I told him no and he proceeded to inquire. I told him I wanted to buy the mustang. He said of course. I was in the Air Force at the time, but not in uniform. I also found out during the sale, that he too was a veteran who served. After the sale was completed, on my way out. I turned on my heels to all the salesmen on the floor and told them they missed a sale, because they assumed wrong . Their mouths went wide open. I turned again got in my new mustang and drove away. I've had many encounters like that in my life...a lot of them had to do with department stores and restaurants... even to this day in time. So folks can miss me with the BS they don't see color. I've even gotten treated differently when I was in my military uniform vs civilian clothes. My outward appearance and my skin color should not dictate if I have money or can afford something. Treat others as you'd like to be treated. Peace
This is a wonderful lesson of grace, patience and victory! You need to be a strong person to kick through this shit at times… I would have unfortunately i would have turned up the next day and dismissed them all. Should I have been retraining adults in decent humility and indiscriminate behaviour? Nope sorry guys No
This is what needs to be done worldwide, and not just in high end stores. As an Indigenous person in Australia, I've had this type of treatment, being followed and watched as I enter stores, it's horrible 😫.
Darius demonstrated that power isn’t for revenge; it’s to build a better environment. He turned a painful experience into a chance for positive change within his company. Such an inspiring story!
This video powerfully highlights the persistent struggles that many Black entrepreneurs face, even after achieving incredible success. Darius Blackwell's undercover experience at his own luxury store speaks volumes about the deep-seated prejudice that still exists in our society. It's infuriating to see that, despite his accomplishments, he's still judged based on the color of his skin. The way he handled the situation, however, was not only commendable but also deeply satisfying. By confronting the racist manager without immediate retaliation, and then returning as the owner to deliver justice, he turned the tables in such a dignified way. This shows us that the fight against racism doesn’t stop, even for those at the top of their field. I'm curious to hear what others think: do you believe Darius did the right thing by letting the manager stay until the end of the month to learn his lesson? Or would it have been better to fire him immediately to set a stronger example?
As a New Zealander I never noticed this sort of behavior until my late 30s when I returned to school to get my teaching degree and studied cultural and social differences around the world. Sadly, I feel it's become even more common in the last 20 plus years. Treating people biased on race religion culture whatever still seems so stupid to me, but I can't fathom why we do it we all have the same problems in life that are so much more important am I alone in thinking like this or just an anomaly in my own little space in the cosmos?
That is why you treat EVERYONE with respect, No one deserves to be treated with disrespect

I grew up very poor and people hated on me even in my own family...when you are hated it truly hurts...my hubby has beautiful brown skin and he too has faced prejudice...it is hard
for me to understand how people can so easily hate others...i am not and have never been racist and if anyone makes hate comments to me i have nothing to do with them even family...I stand for unconditional love and against all hate
God bless this young man and may he successes in everything he does.
It's still about race.
and also about being rich and poor.
NO OprahWinfreywas treatedthat way in a store in London and she'sone one the richest black women in the world and still got treat that way @@moobsiab
I totally concur !
I had that happened to me with the manager of a store new opening.Only later, the manager found out i was the designer and was the head of the high-end store top of the line shoe in the manufacturing
department from the President of the company.
it's not just stores you get judged in ,it's restaurants, out for a swim at pools out , around the river , or BBQs men themselves get judged for being out and about thought of as oeodophiles yet there just , doing daily things like walks or out with there dog ,etc judgement is out there everywhere in all places
Why does some people think and feel that black people dont have what it take to own there own buiness not because a person is black dosent mean he /she dont have values are have the knowledge are widsom and understanding to do what soever he are she put their mind on it not fair god make evey one in his own image and shape but surely he did not give them diffetent blood no one know how your children colour will turn out but that dosent mean you should judge anyone by races and colour may god continue to bless the person who write these amazing story very touching intresting and most of all full of great values and learn to respect each other no matter well the out skirt is yet to come good luck ❤❤❤
thank you 🙏
Some people look down on blacks because they fear anyone who doesn't look like them, others because they don't like the idea of someone they call inferior can excel especially if they didn't or they cling to the old idea that slavery abolishmentt didn't mean they have to give respect.
No matter the excuse they need to get over it. BTW I 'm 81 and white.
Thank you i really appreciate ❤❤❤
Always great thsnk you hod bless 💜💜
Kudos to Darius. I have nothing but Respect. Ethan was humbled and learned a life long lesson. This needs to happen in all "high-end"stores when it comes to racist judgemental people.
Good on ya mate, take no notice of theses people who have a problem with colours!!!proud❤
I’m 90 years old, and as a senior staff scientist who worked for a major defense oriented corporation, and won many top awards, I am usually shown respect!
Unintelligible reply
Great story.
I really enjoyed this story I was very proud of the CEO cause he didn't FIRE the young man at that point. He let him know that you are not to judge people for what they have on .And you don't approach people like you are better then them .A very good lesson to be learned Never judge the book by its cover
Thanks for watching!❤️ glad you liked the story!😊
Awesome!!! That's all I can say.
Glad you like it! 😊
Treat people the same equally show them RESPECT and DIGNITY
Love the way he deal with matter and love that it lot kind peoples out in world.
Equality is the key word
I enjoyed this story very much and admired the way the store owner handled the issue with his manager and the rest of the staff. They definitely needed some more training.
Excellent video story in every way. Thank you.
Our pleasure!❤️😊
Great Owner great lesson if only it this would improve many old racial people of all colors
Snakes can slip into anything. That's what evil does.😑
That sort of person should never be allowed to hold any manager position, yet it occurs far too often.
This is a good owner he could have let him go but he dodent the owner gave wisdom on respect and fairness about treating everyone right no matter what skin One is in we all must be open to a teachable experience to help one a better person wisdom let it in ❤❤❤
Teaching and promoting positive change is far more rewarding than just revenge.
Great but also sad!!!! The world we live in is still full of ignorance!!!
Way to go, Darius!
Very good!
He should have been fired
Darius said that Ethan could stay until the end of that month. Presumably, he was still let go. Hopefully.
I'm in my 70s and I worked hard to make a living and I live very comfortably because of generous lady
I love this story!!!
Thank you!😊
Treat everyone with kindness and care❤❤❤
🙌
Peace
Absolutely sickening story, this is for reality tho, in this country nowadays it's happening for real, I am Asian American, I get racism as well.
I love how this owner wants equality i would be glad to work with for him. I get a lot of prejudices too for being disabled
This is a wonderful lesson of grace, patience and victory! You need to be a strong person to kick through this shit at times… I would have unfortunately i would have turned up the next day and dismissed them all. Should I have been retraining adults in decent humility and indiscriminate behaviour? Nope sorry guys No
Oh the experiences I've been through as a Black man just trying to shop.
:(
Not only shopping , mine is going to upscale restaurants 😋
You’ll never know if that one person or family that walks in are the real owners. Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
This happens all the time where I work . sometimes high power people need to visit under cover..like a mystery shopper
What a nice story it is all what we wish for be kind to each other 🙌🏻
Hearing these kind of stories breaks my heart because I still can’t believe that racism still exists in this country and it needs to STOP!!!!!!!!
What’s with all those red beams, as if weapon laser beams are being deployed😂
Fireflies lol😊😊
Should have been fired
Treat everyone equally! No one is above anyone else!!!
Congrats Darius 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Watching from Maryland 🇺🇸
This is what needs to be done worldwide, and not just in high end stores.
As an Indigenous person in Australia, I've had this type of treatment, being followed and watched as I enter stores, it's horrible 😫.
That's why you should always treat EVERYONE with dignity and kindness. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly or with disrespect.
Viewing from Warren, Ohio
Darius demonstrated that power isn’t for revenge; it’s to build a better environment. He turned a painful experience into a chance for positive change within his company. Such an inspiring story!
A man gets fired for saving a child choking. I can’t listen to it too upsetting.
Yes but other people dont see it like you do,
Prejudice is not tolerated in any job especially a store !!
Never fails to make a short story long
Never judge a book by the cover
The effort you put into your content really shines through. Awesome job
All people bleed red. Treat everyone with respect.
Gee. Who could see this coming? Even before starting with spoiler.
Wanting anyone to respect you is the wrong path to life . Stay true to your job ....
I like these types of stories 💙💙💙💙
check out our channel, there’re lots of good ones! 😊
You have to be mindful of being judgemental.
